  1. This was it. She'd been studying. She'd been researching. She'd seen the magic. She'd figured out the basic fundamentals of it. Now? It was time to apply them all. Here, in the dark and fortified room the Syndicate had provided for her practice.
  2.
  3. Rosalie cast out her hands, and summoned forth the anger that burnt in her heart. It was the first element of her fires that she'd ever drawn upon, the colors of red that fueled her magic at it's core. The flames roared to life in her palms, crackling in the shadows.
  4.
  5. The fallen noble continued to pull upon her emotions, feeding them to the spell. Next came her desire. Her passion. Her need. The physical wanting that had pushed the girl to even come as far as she had. Her lust for life, and thirst for vengeance, the unchained want to break free from all the chains that had held her to this abysmal excuse for living.
  6.
  7. The flames sparked and fluttered, growing in intensity, yet the girlpoured more into them. More mana. More feeling. And when it became almost too hot for her to bear?
  8.
  9. That was when she took the next step, moving her hands together to fuse the flames. She focused her iron will, beads of sweat pouring down her face. This was the crucial part, where she had to not only continue to stoke the fire, but control it as well.
  10.
  11. Thus, her mind ventured back towards her earlier lesson. She focused on the wick of a candle in her mind, and with that image clear, she began to compress the flames. She'd seen the technique. That was all she needed. Just some sort of form, some method she could copy and apply! She forced the flames to obey her command, and eventually, they melted together into an orb-like shape.
  12.
  13. "Now! GO!" She roared, and with all of her might, cast forth her creation. It flew a few dozen feet into the stoney-cavern, before flickering just a moment...
  14.
  15. And then the boom came. An enormous roar of fire, shattering stone and earth, as all the pent up force ruptured out of it's prison. She could only breathe and grin maniacally as she looked at the effectiveness of the spell. She collapsed to her knees, reveling in the smoke and dust.
  16.
  17. But only for a second. It was not enough to do it just once. Success had been found, but now? It was time to perfect it. She'd work throughout the entire night to do so. She could do better than that.
  18.
  19. She knew she could.
  20. (Rosalie Ar-Marno)
