  3. QOTT: Thoughts on angel hierarchy?
  4. -
  5. Does Stolas actually hate his wife or does he just prefer getting fked in the ass?
  6.
  7. Why not just ask Stella to peg him?
  8. -
  9. He's most likely gay, and both of them were forced into an arranged marriage, despite barely knowing or tolerating one another.
  10. They were civil with each other for a while, but then Blitzo showed up, and Stolas began to actively cheat on her. She's primarily furious at him because he cheated on her with an imp - one of the lowest classes of demons in Hell -, and thus, humiliated her, as well as tarnishing the family's reputation.
  11. Stolas' song to young Octavia suggest that he at least TRIED to entertain the relationship with her, but either Stella was really only in it for the status, or it has quickly grown frigid between the two of them.
  12.
  13. Stolas is most likely neutral or disinterested about Stella, while Stella hates him because he jeopardized her status (jury's still out on whether or not he actually broke her heart). Stolas is still civil and empathic with her (or, at least, tries to be - guy's as much of a retrd when it comes to social relations as Blitzo is), but he's no longer interested in her, and is too much of a pushover and coward to kick her out or divorce her (although, that may partially be because of Octavia, who's afraid that her dad will leave her).

  15. Fair.
  16.
  17. But my second question still remains.
  18. -
  19. ask me how I know you're a virgin
  20. -
  21. How did you know you're a virgin
  22. -
  23. He posts on a basket weaving forum calling people virgins
  24. -------
  25. My guess is that Stolas really didn't want to bother himself with any conflict. Stella seems to be a bit of a prude, and, chances are, they most likely don't have sx anymore (either because he struggles to find the will to get it up, or because she's just frigid, possibly both) - and even if they did, she's probably not open to anything beyond vanilla.
  26.
  27. Stolas probably hadn't even considered the option until Blitzo came along, and that spur-of-the-moment intercourse opened up a whole new world of pleasure for him...
  28. ...But then, Blitzo landed ass-first into Stella's cake, blurted out that he fked her husband in front of guests (while also having his grimoire in hand), which probably both embarrassed and infuriated her enough so that any future sx was out of the question.
  29.
  30. TL;DR: Stolas didn't consider it, Stella probably wouldn't have been interested in it, and Blitzo's blundering had effectively killed that option.
  31. --------
  32. you know... I have a spitball idea for Stella backstory when I read this.
  33.
  34. I feel like the stella we see in the show is not the same stella if we saw her backstory, maybe she was more kind person but do the fact that she was born and raise in hell... her parents have there own ideas for her.
  35.
  36. and maybe when stella was growing up with them, she had her own teenage rebellion phase but instead it being emo. maybe it was heavy metal and she dress up like a biker or something.
  37.

  39.
  40. but at the end... her parents got what they want and stella was forced into an arranged marriage Stolas.
  41.
  42. it be cool to see that old side of her to be explore in this: h ttps://pastebin.com/kGPB6tr8
  43.
  44. or someone else can made that backstory idea that I just made for stella on the spot... who knows?.
  45. -
  46. Oh, I'll get back to that once I'm done with work (two fking episodes of Jade Fever... Jesus Christ, just take me, right now).
  47.
  48. Anyways, considering that demons age slower, I'd imagine that Stolas and Stella are actually a few centuries old.
  49. Anyways, I didn't really consider her (or Stolas, for that matter) dabbling in any late 20th century subcultures - in fact, that small bit about her liking poetry actually stemmed from the fact that my grandmother had several collections of poems - back in her day, collecting and reading (and, if you were good, writing) volumes of poetry was one of the most common intellectual pursuits (we're talking '60s Hungary, here).
  50. -
  51. >Oh, I'll get back to that once I'm done with work
  52.
  53. nice and I like the sound of the poetry thing
  54. -----------
  55. The line "I used to think love would be fun" is worded in such a way that it seems that he never even enjoyed the relationship with Stella.
  56. -
  57. I figured that maybe he tried it, but only got burned in the end.
  58. -
  59. From that line in the song and the openly lovey-dovey way he acts toward Blitzo, my interpretation was that he's always been a hopeless romantic who, when he was young, just assumed his arranged marriage would naturally blossom into a steamy storybook romance, but then he finally got married and he found that Stella wasn't a good fit for him.
  60. -
  61. That's an interesting take.
  62. -
  63. that is a good take right there
  64. -
  65. "Only those whose lives are brief, can imagine love as eternal"
  66.
  67. My main take from the song is that at the end of everything, he cares for the wellbeing of his daughter. Though everything else in his life may have faded to ash, he still loves his daughter.
  68. -
  69. yeah that make sense
  70. -
  71. I think he still has a lot of sensual, romantic affection to give too, besides the storge/filial love he directs toward his daughter. It's possible that Stella just doesn't like his brand of nose-booping, nickname-giving, sxually intensive romance.
  72. -
  73. He thought love would be fun, perhaps he found he could not sustain his relationship with Stella in the long term.
  74.
  75. What's to say his relationship with Blitzo is nothing more than just wish fulfilment? A chance to grasp at past nostalgia and reignite his desire for exciting love.
  76.
  77. Hoping this time it will work.
  78.
  79. When it may potentially fail.
  80.
  81. Something happened with his relationship with Stella, and I am curious if the passion in their life simply died or if it was precipitated by other factors.
  82. -
  83. We haven't seen enough of Stella in-canon to make any real judgements. We keep hearing her refer to her husband as an embarrassment and always see her in formal attire. I have a suspicion that maybe what Stella wanted out of her relationship was a suave, traditional masculine prince and what she got was a playful goof who likes balloons and amusement parks and singing clowns and pays little mind to class and wants to try everything in the bedroom.
  84. -
  85. Yeah, its too early to tell and frankly there's every chance Stella will never get that background characterization.
  86.
  87. I'm slightly edging towards their relationship once being amiable, even loving, if only because of the few background pictures we see of the family together and with them all looking happy.
  88.
  89. Of course its also possible that plotting to murder your husband is par the course for demonic royalty and is a frequent occurrence.
  90.
  91. Time well tell.
  92. -
  93. It would be a real waste and kind of reductive if they skipped out on giving Stella some development when they seem to be trying so hard to give the like of Stolas and Blitzo some depth.
  94.
  95. >Yeah nah Stella's just a btch all the way to the core and always has been
  96. >Stolas cheating on her with Blitzo is entirely justified and wholesome and morally bulletproof
  97. >Because she's just such a btch and that's her only trait
  98.
  99. That would suck ass
  100. ---
  101. >I'm slightly edging towards their relationship once being amiable, even loving, if only because of the few background pictures we see of the family together and with them all looking happy.
  102.
  103. I am hoping for that as well
  104.
  105. >Of course its also possible that plotting to murder your husband is par the course for demonic royalty and is a frequent occurrence.
  106. >Time well tell.
  107.
  108. I have a feeling that will backfire on Stella... very badly.
  109. ---
  110. >That would suck ass
  111.
  112. I don't want that to happen, just make her happy
