  1. My love for this country has run out. All the good I knew has been revealed as falsehoods--all the atrocities, insurmountable. Powerlessness in a system that wants nothing but to wring you dry for every drop of blood and sweat and discard the remains when the purse runs dry.

  3. What once held beauty has been revealed as a mocking imitation of itself, perverted and corrupted by those empowered to protect and serve it. We're thrown a conciliatory bone when we become disgruntled, a concession quickly forgotten or reneged by those involved.

  5. The institutionalized system of discrimination and deceit that we call our government is nothing short of depressing. It's a game we're encouraged to play, but we can never truly win. Like rats in a maze, we're given the illusion that we can reach the prize at the end, though the scientist always holds the cheese.

  7. I wish nothing more than the lies we are fed to be truths, that individuals can make a difference in the face of overwhelming influence of ill-gained wealth earned on the backs of millions. The very government we support and trust in turn bleeds us dry in an abominable display of vampirism.

  9. And yet you can't not-try, in a pathetic attempt to make a difference. It's as if vain action is better than no action. Resistance being somehow preferable to rolling over and accepting fate. It is an uphill battle, one that if it is to be won by the people will be a victory well earned.
