  1. There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying it out.
  2. Tanking is assuming the role of a leader in higher tiers of content.
  3.
  4. Other 4 people will ask you for what rout you take, will require you to call out certain things. As tank , you set the pace of dungeon progression. There is a system called "Mythic+" and those are basically really scaled up dungeons with a timer and additional challenges called Affix. This week's affixes are: Enraging - mobs get stronger at 30% health and hit harder, and Explosive - if you don't kill them, they do lotta group wide damage. Next week it will be different.
  5.
  6. Early expansion, its easy to get into tanking as very few dafaq is even going on.
  7. Joining mid expac, however, a lot of us has grown to a few specific routes or "rules". A lot of us have similar expectations on what's going to happen. So when tank does something different, and doesn't call it out, it can be hard to get your thoughts in the right place and recover.
  8.
  9. Anyway.
  10. Since you're new to the game, you really really really need to invest a little bit of time into figuring out what tank class you want to play.
  11.
  12. Druid
  13. Warrior
  14. Paladin
  15. Monk
  16. Demon Hunter
  17. Death Knight
  18.
  19. All classes have their own pros and cons. Like, Druids are the best at physical damage sustain, while Demon Hunters are the worst, but they got the best mobility. Paladins got access to really strong self & group healing capabilities. Death Knights take a lot of damage, but they also self heal like no other class in the game.
  20.
  21. It's 4pm. Wife at work. So I'm bored so I can write some stuff out for you.
  22.
  23.
  24. For newer players, I suggest Druids. Bears are quite strong & quite easy to pick up. They are also one of the most desired tank classes due to their really strong Legendary Power at max level and they can also Battle Res (resurrect while in combat).
  25.
  26. Their rotation and cooldowns are pretty straight forward.
  27. The big drawback of druid, imho, is **aesthetics**. There are only 4 different bear forms, each with 3 color variations. You can google "Druid bear forms" and look for WOWHEAD website. So, as a bear, 95% of your gameplay is in that *thicca$ssboiiiiiii*
  28.
  29. There is Legion expansion content called "Class Order Halls". Basically bunch of quests. A lot of quests. Some are long. But, if you do them, you can unlock new form options. There is a cool glowing bear. There is also a big challenge called "Mage Tower" and there are plenty of guides on youtube and it awards a cool looking WEREBEAR. Changes your gameplay entirely.
  30.
  31. If you're more into like knight, glory and Light RP, as well as Transmog matters, Paladin could your class. They are also really really good, but due to their heavy-group utility, it will take some time learning how to use everything effectively.
  32.
  33. IMHO. Paladins got the best transmog in the game, followed by Warriors and Warlocks.

  36. Faction: Alliance vs Horde
  37. -
  38. For you, as a new player, you got A LONG road ahead. And faction choice, in terms of high end-game progression won't matter to you for a very very very long time. SO, frankly, focus on the looks. That's it. Just whatever feels closer to your heart.
  39.
  40. Same applies for race choice.
  41.
  42. Another big thing I'd suggest is **Addons**.
  43. There are so MANY of them. There are also addon managers. Little applications that can automatically update them, places them in the right spot. There are many of them. I personally use CurseForge. A lot of people lile Twitch and WowUP.
  44.
  45. Here are some you should look into and really consider downloading
  46. AdvancedInterfaceOptions ----I use this one just to hide addon LUA errors.
  47. AutoSellMyJunk ---- automatically sells all grey items to vendor.
  48. Bagnon ---- merges all your bags into 1 big bag with some customization options.
  49. DBM ---- addon that focuses on mechanics and boss abilities for raids and dungeons.
  50. GTFO --- really really good addon. Makes alert sounds if you stand in like fire or poison.
  51. HandyNotes --- addon that adds lots of markers to your map of all rares and treasures.
  52. SilverDragon --- addon that notifies you if there is a special treasure or a rare mob nearby.
  53. tullaRange --- addons that colors abilities red if out of range.

  61. Allied Races
  62. -
  63. I'm sure you have noticed a bunch of grey'd out race icons. In order to unlock some of these, all you need to do is a specific quest chain. Reputation requirements have been lifted with Shadowlands. Look at wowhead for guides and more details.

  65. Transmog Farming
  66. -
  67. Once you get to a higher level, let's say 50, you will be able to farm all previous expansions for gear. Gear that looks pretty. There 100's of sets in the game. Some come from PvP and others from raids. You may find it hard to do some Legion raids solo (until you're 60) and BFA requires a group. But anything and every before that, you should be fine.
  68.
  69. Mount Collections
  70. -
  71. Plenty of mounts in the game. Of every kind. Seriously. Everything and anything.
  72. Dragon with big engines? SURE.
  73. Giant frog? SURE.
  74. Giant mosquito? SURE!
  75. Camel? We got that too! :)

  77. Legion expansion Order Hall
  78. -
  79. I highly advise you to do this content. Got tons of lore. And it rewards special cosmetics. I get it done on every class.
