The perpetrators where boarded inside the Green Wood Church, a suspected cultist organization. Police had been alerted the previous day of several kidnapping victims seen entering the church, they arrived to find it boarded up. Edwin Brock (A lead investigator on the case) said that when they arrived, a member of the church told them to stay out. The church member went on to talk about a ritualistic suicide attempt. When it became apparent the police where going to attempt a raid, the church members opened fire. 3 police officers and 14 people inside the church died in the incident. 73 other members of the church where taken in for questioning. The whereabouts of the kidnapping victims are still unknown.

Firefighters where called to the scene at 8 PM, however they where unable to contain the blaze. The nearly 50 year old building is now little more than a scorched shell and the cause of the fire is unknown, however the police suspect arson.

Theodore and Alice Toles, his parents, say that while he was acting strangely, they didn't see this coming. They where the only remaining patrons in the apartments, others had left saying the area was “Haunted”. Theodore and Alice plan to move out as well, saying “This place makes us too sad to live here any more”

  35. A night spent in the haunted apartments, that was the challenge. Harry Bishop, author of this article and prominent ex-writer for the Globe, accepted it. Here is Harry's account of the experience.

  37. I arrived at the apartments at about 8 PM, the light was dimming and it already had a creepy feel to it. Heading inside, I jumped as something upstairs made a bumping sound. “Probably a rat” I muttered to myself “Just a rat.” I could have sworn I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye. Climbing the stairs to the higher floors, I found where the boy who committed suicide had slept. Climbing the stairs I began to hear voices. They where strange, like screams. I opened the door to his room. It was covered in a layer of dust, the floor was empty. He hadn't killed himself in this room, according to the report, he had gone to the basement and done it. As I left the room I stepped in something very sticky. As I looked down, I noticed a pool of blood around my feet. I ran out of the room, but it was gone. I decided to descend, rather shaken by now. The basement was normal, if a bit cold for the season. There was a rusty knife in the middle of the floor. Blood was on the blade. I ran.
