This is a collection of arcade games with working MAME ROMs, classics as voted by /vg/ with some curation and extras from the critpoints.net discord and Tim Rogers.

==Shmups==
These are generally not included because shmupmame is better to play them. Some earlier shmups aren't available out of the box there so they are included (plus Galaga '88 since it's part of the Galaxian series, and it plays fine on base mame). Games that were recommended but have been excluded as a result are:

De., Progear, Battle Garegga, Armed Police Batrider, Battle Bakraid, Dimahoo, Darius Gaiden, Dragon Blaze, Strikers 1945 1/2/3, Gunbird 1/2, RayForce, Metal Black, Giga Wing, Explosive Breaker.

==Multiplayer Focus==
I've also excluded games that are (as far as I can tell) only really worth playing with other players:
The King of Fighters '98, The King of Fighters 2002, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Samurai Shodown 1 and 2, The Last Blade 1 and 2, Darkstalkers, WWF WrestleFest, Gauntlet, NBA Jam, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Double Dragon, The Outfoxies.

==Games Excluded for ROM Issues==
Dynamite Cop doesn't work. It has a Dreamcast port that looks quite a bit worse so idk.
Pooyan doesn't work, NES port is solid.
Tetris TGM 3 isn't available, but there is a PC version: https://themamecabden.blogspot.com/2015/08/tetris-grandmaster-3-download-guide.html

==Other Notes==
Cosmic Guerilla, Great Swordsman and Tranquillizer Gun don't have (accurate) sound but otherwise work so they're included.
Other games have some problems according to MAME but I haven't noticed anything.
