  1. Domain from an old CMS and 301 [DR 75]
  2. I have a tech blog in my native language (french) that is running for quite a few years already.

  14. I also have an old domain name from a CMS that no longer exists, but still has thousands of links pointing (Ahrefs DR 75). It was a japanese CMS so almost all links are coming from that country.
  15. I thought about writing an article about that CMS on my french blog (in french obviously) and then doing a 301 redirect from the CMS domain to my blog post.
  16. It should help me getting more authority on my french blog, but is it a good idea?
  17. Yes definitely! Like anything in life, there is a smart way and a stupid way to do it. Think about what Google can actually detect algorithmically – what footprints do guest posting typically leave behind?
  18.
  19. An example would be if 50% of your link profile is made up of sites that feature a ‘write for us’ page – you can assume 50% of your link profile is guest posts.
  20.
  21. #12. Curious to know. Do you have an in-house team to assist or you are the only one handling all your multiple blog activities?
  22.
  23. I have multiple businesses online the blog is just a very small part of what I do. And actually, if you look at recent updates, you will see they have slowed down as other businesses have required my time.
  24.
  25. While it would be nice to build a superstar team to drive the blog forward, it just doesn’t make sense to do so at the moment given the other opportunities on the table.
  26.
  27. #13. What would be the minimum budget required to start a blog with all the necessities to drive traffic gradually?
  28.
  29. Around $80 to $100. This is more than enough to get you hosting, access to a good email marketing platform, a good-quality premium theme and a logo.
  30.
  31. But it really depends on how much money you want to invest in. If you just buy hosting and use a free domain, you won’t spend much at all.

  34.
  35. First Step: Figure Out Why You Are Guest Posting And Where to Guest Post
  36.
  37. Before you start guest posting, you need to think about why you are guest posting in the first place to make sure that you plan your strategy accordingly.
  38.
  39. Guest posting is a grand strategy that has many benefits. But most of the time, you won’t be harness all of the different types of benefits from the same guest post; that’s why you need to make your plans depending on specific interests you hope to derive from a particular post.
  40.
  41. For example, guest posting is still a great way to get traffic. If you want traffic, then you want to appear on blogs where there is high engagement. A good starting point is to look for blogs that contain more than 20 comments on their posts on average and blogs that get more than 200 shares on their posts.
  42.
  43. If you want to build credibility in your niche, then you’re looking for the big magazines and blogs in your topic that will help skyrocket your credibility even if they’re not strictly related to your niche.
  44.
  45. You could be forgiven for thinking that appearing in big-name magazines will get you a lot of traffic, but I have to tell you that most of the time, that simply isn’t the case. I know people who were featured in Forbes and yet didn’t get more than 30 visits to their blogs.
