<Antioch|GM> Lumina hasn't had much chance to rest, nor make forward progress on her Tinkerings after the fundraiser. She stuck around after the school after hearing about some sort of crisis at the PRT headquarters, only finally getting there at around midnight or so and crashing hard in one of the unoccupied Ward dormitory rooms.
<Antioch|GM> She's given the opportunity to wake up on her own time, but the first thing on her docket, before power testing, socializing, anything else, is a psychiatric evaluation – checking to see what issues lie and where, a particular point of concern when it comes to a recent trigger.
<Antioch|GM> To that end, she's found herself in the shrink's room, facing down Doctor Freeman, a man who looks like he was born to be a psychiatrist, greying salt-and-pepper hair, sweater, and all.

<Teruzi|Freeman> Richard wasn't used to eating with his patients, but then again, he wasn't used to getting surprise evaluations sprung on him. Oh well.

She was never one for sleeping in, but after the talking and running around and trying to get things done last night, she was still dressed in the clothes that she wore last night. Her hair was wilder than ever. "Oh, thank you!" The girl says as she grabs at the bagel and cream cheese. She also starts getting a cup of tea. "I guess I'm springing surprises on people these past few days. Mom, then Sorenson,
<Thalia|Fidler> and now you, Doctor..." She lets the title hang in the air for a moment. She had no idea what to call him.||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Richard. Or Doctor Freeman. Or Doctor Ricard. Whatever you think is best." Richard says, pleased to see the girl opting to drink tea. "What do you want me to call you?"||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Anne or Annemarie is great, Doctor Freeman. Not quite used to Lumina as a name." She blows gently on the tea before taking a sip, thinking for a second, then adding just a little sugar. Then she moves onto spreading cream cheese on the bagel. ||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Anne, then." Richard concedes. Well mannered, seemingly sweet. Hrm. "You joined just as I was leaving, Anne."||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Well, I only started working on the armor two days ago. And showing up with it was likely better than not. Though, my poor computer." She takes a bite of the bagel and a sip of the tea. "Sounds like I have pretty good timing, then."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Fortuitous." Richard says, as he takes a sip of his own tea.
<Teruzi|Freeman> He ponder for a moment on how to approach the conversation.
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Why do you think you are here today, Anne?" He finally asks.||
<Thalia|Fidler> Annemarie thinks for a second, sipping her tea as she pauses. "Because I've had a really bad past few weeks and months... hrm... before I start going out in power armor, the Protectorate wanted to make sure I wasn't completely cuckoo?"||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Somehow they wanted to make sure you were alright after you made the power armor." Richard says, somewhat grim. "Terrible priorities, if you ask me."
<Teruzi|Freeman> "You say you've been having a few bad months?"||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Well, Doctor Freeman, it kinda started a few months ago." She is waving the bagel at him. "When the rampaging capes with the name I can't pronounce got school closed down, kinda been... without a lot of my routine? It's just been kinda weird."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> Richard nods, taking some notes. He looks at Anne's file, and the various files on her father. "How are you getting along with your mother?" He asks, neutrally.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Pretty well until yesterday."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Oh? What happened yesterday?" Richard prods.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "I err... came out as a cape? Would coming out be the right term? She was rather upset by the whole thing." Annemarie takes another bite of her bagel.||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "It's not a wrong term" Richard says, then looks at Anne with interest. "But it's a rather specific one."
<Teruzi|Freeman> "You agree, I'm sure, that it's not unexpected for your mother to feel that way?"||
<Thalia|Fidler> "I would agree, yeah. My dad just died out there..." She was sure that Richard knew that part. "She was asking me why I just couldn't be normal over and over."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Hm. You are normal." Richard comments, as he takes notes. "Exceptional people are still people."
<Teruzi|Freeman> "How has your home life been since your dad, well, since your father died?"||

<Thalia|Fidler> "I'm really just hoping I don't have to have another talk like that. It was awkward." Anne takes a deep breath. "I've... sort of been in charge of the household? Mom's been, understandably, really depressed. I've just been trying to hold everything together."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "How old are you, Anne?" Richard asks, casually writing down some more notes. Tut tut. PRT liaisons checking up on the household was required.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Thirteen, Doctor Freeman." Annemarie takes another bite of bagel. ||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Have you been depressed?" Richard asks.||
<Thalia|Fidler> She nods. "A bit. I was closer to dad and it was hard seeing mom like that. Never that bad, though."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Your father died and you've been a bit depressed?" Richard echoes her statement, looking at her neutrally.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Murdered. On video." She adds. "Mom has been depending on me, so I've been mostly trying to keep everything together."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "And how are you holding up?" Richard continues to prod. Her answers felt ... off.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "As well as I can, I think. Given the circumstances."||

<Teruzi|Freeman> "You triggered." Richard points out.||
<Thalia|Fidler> She tilts her head to the side. "Triggered?" She takes a bite of the bagel.||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Ah, they probably haven't explained that to you." Richard shrugs. Then a look of annoyance crosses his face. "Apparently too busy rushing you to appear on the fundraiser."
<Teruzi|Freeman> PR was the bane of mental health.
<Teruzi|Freeman> "A trigger event is what we call those moments that, ah, awaken your powers. There's a lot of discussion regarding them. Mostly, it is agreed that triggers happen at the worst moment in your life." Richard explains.
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Which implies, to me, that you are not doing as well as you say."||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Actually, having me appear at the fundraiser was my suggestion to them. I gave them like an hour of warning that I'd be showing up with power armor." She decides to correct that issue. Didn't need Freeman yelling at Sorenson about something for -her- idea. "I had to talk Sorenson into it." She drinks a sip of tea. "And my mom was doing worse and worse until about Thursday after lunch. She seemed to be doing better a bit after my

<Thalia|Fidler> Anne shrinks down in her chair a bit. "Lunch. I decided to try something nicer than the frozen meals we had. I was hoping it could turn around her mood." She shakes her head. "That sounds terrible, worst moment of my life was making lunch."||||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "It sounds like the reality of it all caught up to you." Richard says, pondering if this girl was a second generation. It was rather unlikely. "You should see it differently. The worst moment of your life so far has passed you."
<Teruzi|Freeman> Richard stops to drink some of his tea.
<Teruzi|Freeman> "And here you are."||
<Thalia|Fidler> "That... seems about right. I might not have been able to handle all the pressure on me, but I never would have forgiven myself if I didn't try." She is tempted to say worst so far, but she'd prefer to keep the optimistic view. ||

<Teruzi|Freeman> "How are your powers treating you? You are ... a tinker, yes?" Richard asks, jotting down some other notes.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "Yes, Doctor. I built armor and stuff that attaches to the armor."||

<Teruzi|Freeman> "Any confusion? Headaches? Blurry memories?" Richard asks, as he checks the laundry list of possible warning signs. "Maybe a constant, unrelenting need to disassemble everything near you?"||
<Thalia|Fidler> 'No, no, no... a little?" She shrugs and clarifies. "Like... when it first happened some objects were getting my attention. I wanted to make stuff out of my mom's wedding ring, the back door, my computer, the TV... over that part."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Her wedding ring? You didn't." Richard asks, aghast. He sips more tea while listening.||
<Thalia|Fidler> "I didn't. Only my computer. It was a strong temptation, though." She takes a bite of the bagel. "It could have made a really neat laser."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "Hm." Richard ticks a box in one form. He would have to do that a lot tonight, it seemed. "Are you excited about joining the wards?"||

<Thalia|Fidler> "I don't, no. My father believed in what he was doing. I feel like I'm carrying that on now. The PRT didn't kill my father, Lilith did."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> "What does your mother think about this, then? Did she give you permission to sign up?"||
<Thalia|Fidler> "That took some convincing, but she felt the same way in the end. This was after the 'why can't you be normal?' talk."||
<Teruzi|Freeman> Richard nods, setting his notes aside for a moment, simply enjoying his tea. "You seem remarkably well adjusted, Anne."||

<Thalia|Fidler> "Just the one! I have actual materials now." She pretends to act indignant for a second before laughing. "It was just like a starting thing. No urges like that except just after triggering. Like that evening. The worst of it was just out of my system."||
