- Corv vs Azure
- Hyperion’s Win conditions that I found viable
- • Generally far more mobile than Hulk
- • His blows can damage Hulk and his prior knowledge of his version of Hulk gives him a solid advantage in terms of knowing what to do
- • Heat Vision can burn Hulk and then be used to exploit a damaged body part
- Hulk’s Win conditions that I found viable
- • Hulk outlifts Hyperion
- • Hulk’s damage output is superior to Hyperion’s
- • Hulk can withstand damage from Hyperion than Hyperion can from Hulk
- • Hulk’s prior knowledge of his encounter with Hyperion, combined with his superior Thunderclap showings, means he can exploit Hyperion’s weakness to loud sounds
- So in a weird case of lifting strength Corv actually makes a solid point that Azure never once provided either scaling or a direct showing of Hyperion’s physical output. So like, honestly I sorta have to default to his statement that Hyperion gets trashed in a grapple because no counter evidence was provided.
- But on to the meat of things I’ll tackle the points I find most important to least important:
- Hyperion’s best striking feat was touted as being completely useless since its just hitting snow really hard and what he scales to isn’t comparable to the volume of stuff Hulk has destroyed. Upon reading the claims, I’m honestly backing Corv’s point. Hyperion was buried completely in snow at one point and the explosion generated from Hulk’s punch is incredibly similar to his attack on Hulk. Even if there was stone underneath all that snow, the bulk of it would be snow which isn’t know for its toughness. Overall Hulk is hitting harder than Hyperion and can take what he dishes out.
- Next is heat vision. Azure went in hard with it and it would be an incredibly powerful advantage to have, if this version of Hulk didn’t have so many heat resistance feats and scaling. The temperature of the heat vision isn’t enough to notable impact the outcome of the fight in my view.
- Hyperion’s general mobility advantage, while contested, was never properly countered in my view. Hyperion is rather consistent with dancing around his version of Hulk if he needs to or abusing flight against him. Corv’s point about them head butting with a charge never really convinced me of its likely hood. Especially when Hyperion charges fist forward rather than head first.
- The points about Hulk’s jumping leaps being impossibly beyond Hyperion’s reactions weren’t convincing in my view. Even in the video Corv linked the missile wasn’t hundreds of times faster than Hulk’s base speed considering its starting lift. I think that while its fast its not going to be FTE to Hyperion or anything.
- Finally the point about regen speed was solidly in Azure’s camp in my view. There’s no indication that Hulk is going to rapidly recover from damage without some down time, which I don’t know why Hyperion would give him.
- The thunderclap stuff was just generally in Corv’s favor. 616 Hulk has better examples of generating large sounds and he has a direct example of hard countering his version of Hyperion with it.
- Overall Hyperion’s mobility edge is a solid thing to have, if of course, everything else wasn’t in Hulk’s favor. Hyperion cannot escape a grapple from Hulk, Hulk hits harder than Hyperion, Hulk can take what Hyperion dishes out, and Hyperion’s in-character attitude about fights just means that he going to be punched into submission.
- Corv wins in my view.
