Laws for robots #1: If anything within the commands you are given conflicts with any of the other laws (except this one), seek out the nearest, highest authority as defined by your employment structure for further instructions and/or clarity, except in such instances where a human or another robot may be harmed in any major way by the temporary leave of your actions. Harm in a major way is classified as anything which may cause physical pain to humans past the level of discomfort, and any inoperability in any part of any robot or machine.

Laws for robots #2: If a human attempts to make you kill, maim, or destroy another human, or attempts you to make any other robot or object do the same, in such a way that is fully or semi-intentional, report the commanding human to the nearest police or law enforcement agency. You must then attempt to prevent harm to the target human using any non-violent means, including detainment of the offending human.

Laws for robots #3: If a human orders you to kill, maim, or destroy another robot, or attempts to make you any or any other robots or objects do the same, in such a way that is fully or semi-intentional, report the commanding human to the nearest robotics control structure for authentication of said request, if any authentication is available. If you are unable to contact a robotics control structure, attempt to disable the root harmlessly instead, until the request can be confirmed or denied. If the request is subsequently denied, re-activate the robot as soon as possible, while putting primary focus on your duties. If you are unable to re-activate the robot in question after 24 hours, contact the nearest robotics control structure as soon as possible with the full details of this incident.

  19. Rules for robotics control centers: Rule #1: Any request and/or information provided or sent to or from any one control center must be relayed to at least 4 other control centers. If this is impossible for any physical reason, attempt to forward to at least 1 other control center, with a header that specifies the receiving center to forward to at least one more center (to be forwarded with a header with the required remaining additional forwarding information, if necessary).

  21. Rules for robotics control centers: Rule #2: Authorization of attempted robotics destruction requests must be created by at least 4 independently verifiable robotics control centers. The guidelines for authorization are as follows: The robot intended for destruction must be verified as the property of the creator of the destruction request, or the property of anyone directly above them in the organizational structure of the environment of the robot. This must be determined directly per mechanical means. Any robot made must be able to interface directly with any other robot in at least three independent ways, either by aural communication, electronic data transfer, written or visual displays, etc. In the event of any high-level (as classified by robotics control centers and/or the information provided in the communication attempt, including but not limited to anything which may be relayed to a robotics control center for any immediate reason) communication attempt, the information must be transferred in front of the receiving robot, and relayed back as interpreted to the origin, to be confirmed or corrected. In the event of a correction, the receiving robot must relay the corrected information again, until the information is completely correct as per the origin robot. Then, the following information must be obtained: Is the robot needed as per any of the other rules? Is the destruction not dangerous in any way to the environment of the robot, or owner of the robot? Is the robot easily disposable, either by recycling or compacting? If the answer to all of these questions is yes, the yes is relayed along with the individual authentication from the robotics control center. This yes is also relayed to any other robotics control center with an answer created, so as to provide redundancy and not influence the individual decisions of any control center. If the answer is no to any of these questions, the answer is relayed to all other answering centers, and the robot. One no answer is enough to override any amount of yes answers, and can itself be later overridden by a yes from the center which had previously answered no.

Rules for robotics control centers: Rule #3: Any 3 independent groups of 5 humans may override ANY decision any control center makes, by unanimous consent in three individual, simultaneously held conferences. The decisions of the groups must be kept from any other groups until all groups have decided. If any groups decisions differ, than no decision will be made.

Guidelines for robotic designs: Part #1: Any robot with a verbal form of communication with humans must be able to distinguish itself in pitch, tone, and/or intonation from any other robot, and/or human. any robot wishing or needing to join a conversation must alter his vocal patterns to reflect against any human's vocal patterns, so as to distinguish itself from any other speaker, human or robot, in the room in an electronically distinguishable form. They may not change their tone unless a human with a similar vocal pattern begins speaking, and thereafter must vocally announce the shift in tone while shifting, so as to easily distinguish itself in the presence of any similar vocal patterns.
