tl;dr We're meeting Jan 13 at 11AM in 1-150 (HQ) for introductions + setup before heading to kickoff at noon in 26-100. We'll be puzzling in 1-150, 1-135, 1-136 after that - feel free to come any time and stay however long you want! And fill out the supplies spreadsheet!


Welcome to Super Team Awesome 2017 (the mystery hunt team organized by ATS)! If you haven't filled out the sign-up form this year, please do so ASAP so we can get an accurate headcount! As a reminder, everyone on ats-mysteryhunt@mit.edu is on Super Team Awesome, including on-campus and off-campus participants. If you know anyone who wants to be on our team (they don't have to be part of ATS!), let us know so we can add them to the mailing list! Now for a long-ish email with very important information:

Pre-Puzzle Practice
We know for some of you this may be your first mystery hunt - never fear, we're holding a practice session next Thursday, Jan 12 in the TFL of Next House from 8 - 10pm. We'll use a short puzzle hunt to practice with and let everyone get the hang of things, or let people brush up on their puzzle skills. Join us, whether remotely or in person! More details will be sent out the day of.

Logistics
We will be meeting at our headquarters, room 1-150, at 11AM on Friday, Jan 13 for introductions and to make sure everyone is setup, and then head over to kickoff at noon in 26-100!  We also have 1-136 for puzzling and 1-135 for sleeping (three rooms total!). You can come and puzzle with us for however long and whenever you want (even if you miss introductions or haven't puzzled before!).

Supplies
For those of you who've hunted before and/or are super excited!, remember that it'll be handy to bring the blue items in the supplies spreadsheet (and please fill it out if you can bring extra supplies marked in red!). For our first timers, don't worry too much! We still recommend bringing what you can, especially your brain, a laptop, and a charger, but don't feel like you can't come without them! We welcome puzzlers of all intensities -- feel free to stop by anytime!

For those who don't want to leave HQ, we'll be setting up sleeping arrangements and providing some light snacks! Please help us out by filling out the supplies spreadsheet with what extra supplies you can bring.

Tech
We've invited you to our Google Drive (spreadsheets!) and Slack (chat!) using the gmail given to us in the signup. Make sure you accept the google drive invite and use your actual name on slack so we know who you are when we puzzle! If you haven't gotten an invitation or know someone who wants to be added, let me know so we can give you access!

Practice!
If you're up for some fun practice leading up to mystery hunt, join the #practice channel on slack! We'll be posting a puzzle every day or two to get you warmed up!

Food
We will be mass-ordering food from local restaurants for lunch and dinner. If you would like to order with us, bring cash and/or Venmo. More information will be given the day of the hunt.
