- The so-called "controlled opposition" provide the low hanging fruit for the "debunkers" to devour. You have described how the "event realists" and "agents of disinformation" tacitly cooperate and interact. During this repeated process the audience's attention is focused on nonsense and the intellectually vulnerable become exposed to their suggestions which further polarises them. Over time each audience member "arrives at a conclusion" concerning media events (that they are "real"; that they are "hoaxes"; that they are "mixed") though no matter what position it is - it just happens to be in conflict/opposition to the other possibilities. Meanwhile Rome burns.
