Why do you keep resetting?
I am using RNG manipulation by starting my game at a specific time and then pressing A on the TV broadcast on a specific frame to get a seed which will mean I can get a good Piplup and manipulate a Kricketot holding a metronome, a Starly for fly, a Bidoof for Rock smash and cut and no encounters apart from those. I also manipulate getting Pokérus off a trainer. I check my ID to determine whether I hit the correct frame. The Piplup I get has a Mild nature and IVs of 24/27/28/29/23/29.

Why do you pick the girl?
If you pick the girl, you get Lucas instead of Dawn as the professor's assistant, who has less dialogue.

Why do you name yourself/rival/piplup I or J?
Having a 1 character name saves time and I and J are close to the confirm button so they are easier to select.

Why don't you name kricketot/starly/bidoof?
They aren't used enough for it to save time.

Why do you choose Piplup, you used Chimchar in Pearl?
Piplup is slower than Chimchar at the start, but Empoleon is way better than Infernape for the late game due to choice specs + surf. You can't get hidden power at the start in this game which lessens Chimchar's early advantage and the late game pokémon they changed from Pearl make it worse for Infernape.

Why do you get the metronome?
The metronome boosts the power of a move if you keep using it, and since I want to use the same move a lot of the time it helps in quite a few fights before I can get the choice specs.

Are there any glitches in this run?
No this is a glitchless run.

What is extended RNG manipulation?
I can potentially manipulate spinners for the first hour and a half of the run if I can do all the movement correctly and get past the points where the RNG is advancing during textboxes. The main place that is hard to get past is the cutscene where you get the fashion case because when you clear that textbox the RNG advances. With my manip I have a 0.53 second window to time it but the cue changes depending on how fast I cleared the previous textboxes so it is non trivial.
