there's a regional gothic meme floating around tumblr and I tried my hand at it:

626 GOTHIC

● You get milk tea. The boba sticks to your fangs. You chew until your jaw aches.

● You enter a purikura booth. You’re by yourself, but you still make silly faces as the lights flash. You do your best to decorate your photos with as many stickers as you can before the timer runs out. When you pick up your sticker sheet from the printer slot, someone else looks back at you from every picture.

● You walk into 85°C. You buy one piece of bread, and then another. Every cup of coffee you order is exactly 84°C. You sit by the window. You never actually left.

● You go to City of Industry. You keep driving along Valley Blvd. You’re still in City of Industry. Everywhere is City of Industry. Not a single soul is in sight.

● You’re sitting in rush hour traffic on the 60. You’re sitting in rush hour traffic on the 10. You’ve lost all sense of time. A minute ticks past. An hour ticks past. You’ve moved forward four inches. Heat rises off the asphalt and distorts the air before you. You’re not sure if you’re even in the same dimension anymore.

● You’re seated at a restaurant. You pick up the menu. One by one, the English words begin to disappear. You struggle to find a language you vaguely know. As your eyes land on the few Chinese characters and Vietnamese words you can recognize, they, too, begin to disappear. New words surface in their place. You’ve never seen these symbols before. Neither has anyone else.

● It’s sunny outside. You open your umbrella. It’s sunny outside. You wear gloves. It’s sunny outside. You cover your arms. It’s sunny outside. You wear a sun visor. It’s sunny outside. You pull your sun visor down over your face. It’s sunny outside. You are a wraith of shadow and shade. It’s sunny outside. It’s always sunny outside.
