>"YOU PRETTYBOY BASTARD, I'M GOING TO WRING YOUR FUCKING NECK!" Marryanne's incensed voice screams over the phone, so loud that you have to hold the receiver away from your ear, meaning that you getting carted off was probably on the news
>"You can do that after you make sure Lulu and Sammy are safe" you grind out "Lulu has her Papers and knows where I keep all the other important documents, with them is a letter of transference that signs over all my property to you, if I can't figure a way out of this I want you to sign the papers and Keep the girls safe" you say, booking no room for argument, before going on to tell her where to find the multiple mini-safes you'd hidden in the house.
>As soon as they'd let you have your one Phonecall you'd called Marryanne, as she was the only person you could 100% trust to both protect the girls and keep them in tip top shape.
>"As soon as I'm done checking in on the girls I'm gonna be there to kick your ass!" Maryanne snarls before hanging up on you.
>You let out an annoyed sigh as you're guided back to your temporary holding cell, a drab grey room with only the sound being the ever present sound of the florescent lighting and a single metal folding chair.
>You sit until it's no longer comfortable to sit, then you get up and pace the small room until you legs start to get tired.
>It's probably by the third or fourth rotation that the Door Finally opens, but instead of Maryanne having arrived to kick your ass it's a widely smiling face you'd only ever seen once or twice around the department.
>"Helloooooooooo, Darling~" The man says bowing at the waist with a flourish that shows off his designer purple suit.
>"I'm Amadeaus Glint! One of Sterling's best lawyers if I do say so myself!"
>At you lack of a response the man sighs with an annoyed expression and a muttering about theatrics being unappreciated.
>"Anyways, I'm here to talk about the matter of your release, and your future at Starling" He says, Grinning.
>"Well that's open and shut then" you reply flatly "I'm probably not being released, and after that display I'm fired, right?"
>The lawyer gasps in mock shock, placing a hand to his heart "Not at all my dear boy, After all, why would they keep you if no charges were being filed!"
>That makes you blink, what in the hell did he mean charges weren't being filed, you'd beaten Tobias' smug face into hamburger meat.
>"I can tell by the dumbstricken look on your face that you don't understand, so I'll lay it out for you" He says, looking like a cat that had just eaten a rookery of canaries as he raises three fingers.
>"Sterling won't be pressing charges because if you went on the stand you'd have to reveal the reason why you had your little breakdown, and as your NDAs will tell you, that would be a PR nightmare" he says as he puts one finger down.
>"Secondly, Tobias's little scheme was revealed to us by the Custom Model he's sent your way, because apparently the bastard was stupid enough to deliver her to your office in person, and we've applied the appropriate pressure to keep him from pressing charges thanks to that" he explains as he put the second finger down, leaving only his pointer finger raised.
>"And lastly!" he says while pointing at you dramatically "Your friend Johan and several of or Senior ORD and Stress Testers threatened to go on Strike if we fired you, especially after a certain handsome devil leaked the Details of everyone's least favorite ORD Agent's scheme!" he said gesturing dramatically
>"You leaked the details to them?" You ask, dumbfounded.
>"I can't say for legal reasons, but let's just say that Tobias being put out of commission for a while is going to save me a lot of time that would be spent keeping that overzealous sociopath from being sued by the owners of ever Martha, Tracy, and Susan he's forcefully removed from their owners care for being outmoded" Glint says with a showy wink, before his face becomes serious.
>"Unfortunately it's not all good news, actions have consequences after all" He says, taking stiff posture as he places his hands behind his back.
>"You won't be receiving any monetary bonuses for the rest of this year and half of the next, as they'll be used to pay for the medical treatments and dentistry Tobias will require after your little altercation"
>You cringe, mentally crossing off getting Sammy a Puppy and several other extravagances from your plans in regards to spending your money for the foreseeable future.
>"And you'll be taking a month of unpaid leave, during which you will be taking anywhere from three to ten mandatory Anger Management classes, depending on your behavior." Glint explains, smiling "Should you fail to pass them, you will be immediately fired"
>You wait for a third punishment to stab you in the wallet, but it doesn't come "That's all?" you ask sheepishly.
>"Well I could add a few more" Glint says impishly, smiling even wider as you frantically shake you head in the negative "Wonderful! just be sure to keep on your best behavior from this point on and I'll hopefully never have to see you again!" and just like that the Lawyer's gone, with a policeman coming in moments later to tell you that you're free to go.
>Before you know it you're outside of the police station in a daze, still trying to process everything, you don't even notice the furious Maryanne storming up to you until you're on the ground with half of your face stinging from her infuriated slap.
>The Car ride home is tense, but Maryanne seems to forgive you once she knows everything that lead into the incident.
>"Not sure Sammy and Lulu are going to feel the same way" Maryanne says "Lulu saw you getting carted off on the news and almost went into hysterics, she's been inconsolable" those words put your heart in a vice, the mere though of Lulu being in distress making you physically pained.
>"And Sammy?" you ask, dreading her response.
>"I've never seen a Nandroid or Maidbot so furious, when she wasn't fussing over Lulu she was ranting about you, Made me promise to slap you as hard as I could when I say you since her programming won't let her" The Cyborg says with a chuckle "Knew there was a reason I liked her"
>You rub at your still sore face, but accept that the slap was the least of what you deserved.
>Finally you reach home, you blink in surprise to find your car parked in it's usual place, when you look at Maryanne for an explanation she just rolls her eyes.
>"Johan brought it here" She explains "You're lucky he bikes everywhere of you would have had to walk to work to pick it up, now get the hell outta my car and go beg for forgiveness" she says bluntly.
>"Thanks Maryanne" you say sincerely as you get out of her car.
>She mutters something about prettyboys under her breath before shaking her head and driving away.
>You stand at the doorway to your apartment for what seems like an eternity before taking a deep breath and opening the door.
>Sammy sees you first, she's sweeping up the shattered remains of a plate, but the second she makes eye contact with you she grips the Broom's handle so hard it shatters, but beyond that she doesn't move an inch.
>"Sammy, I need to ex-" you start to say, only to be shocked when the maidbot roars at you.
>"HOW DARE YOU PUT LULU THROUGH THAT!" She screams at you, the destroyed broom all but forgotten as she walks towards you, rage practically pouring off of her "YOU SAY THAT YOU LOVE HER AND THAT YOU'D DO ANYTHING FOR HER AND THEN YOU DO THAT!" She brutally rips into you, throwing your word in your face.
>You open your mouth to say something, anything, but she simply lets out a frustrated yell and storms off.
>Then you see Lulu, standing half hidden in a doorway, there's no relief on her face, no joy to see you, only sadness and fear.
>You really fucked up.
