This Is My Two Weeks Notice. I’m turning in effective of Monday November 20th. I very much enjoyed working at Jimmy John’s. I’ve met a lot of nice people and been able to find common ground with people that I never thought I would be able to. I’ve learned a lot about adulting and the workplace. Always knew I wouldn’t be the best driver but I tried to be consistent and like everybody.
The people I will miss our great in number and not to pick favorites I will go in alphabetical order. Alex Allie bill Cardell Daya Logan and Rachel. You have all been wonderful to work with. What I will not miss will be the gossip and sabotage between shifts. It would be interesting if all of you knew how people talk about you behind your back. You find this out when you’re the guy that never rocks the boat.
Of my many reasons I wish to quit the easiest one is health. My ankle and back hurt more during the winter and that makes it a little harder to do. The schedule would be another reason. I do not want to work Fridays and now I’m the only driver on both Monday and Friday. I’m an evening driver who is constantly denied a real way to move into the slots I want.
I must express some bitterness. John was telling me that after Jake’s car accident we needed to support a fallen team member to keep the team going. But not only have I supported the team and tried to do what was best for the store I have never felt anyone was there for me. I’m not saying anyone failed to be friendly but more so if I was sick or injured I would be out of luck. I’ve stayed late for anyone who needed me and worked off the clock whenever necessary.
The store has been barely running. Some of the people who were causing trouble we’re also imperative and irreplaceable apparently. If you excuse my analogy, I feel like the store has been run like a three-legged dog who was entered into a dog race. And now I I feel the store has just lost another leg.
Another reason for my embitterment towards the store was yesterday John’s treatment of a situation. I had a delivery on Crawfordsville Road and the map showed me a delivery on 21st Street which was right by it. Once I completed the Crawfordsville Road delivery I found out that the delivery was too the church on 21st Street as per standards I went and delivered that one as well. Only to find out that not only at the person been told I left 25 minutes ago but he also did not seem to be aware that I had left with multiple deliveries. He was so forceful that he was in the right and demanding he wouldn’t pay and that it was my fault as a driver that I handed him the food and left. I tried to talk to John about the situation and was forced to pay for the customers food.
 The last reason I will give is being unable to have a couple nights off. I needed the 4th and 5th off of next month I asked weeks in advance and looking forward to this trip has been one of the few things that kept me sane while dealing with the insanity of life and at my job.
So with much regret and mixture sadness in relief I once again reiterate this is my two week notice.
