- +nationalparksign . __ (I got a bit carried away with this reply!) That is a great example. So often I've heard people say little "facts" about things to me and when I quiz them on how they "know" it they'll tell me they read about it but after more quizzing ("which book?" hah) it has come from a movie/film that's presented to the audience as "true to life" or a "dramatisation of real events".
- The problem is - let's say it's 99% accurate (no way it's that high) how can the audience member know they're not repeating the 1% that has been adjusted to make the movie more interesting etc. They can't know what's bullsh!t and what isn't without first having learned about the topic etc. (If they had learned about it first they might think differently about the movie due to noticing where it strayed from "the real story".)
- (With a "movie" like "Snowden" how can anyone check anything anyway?! It could *all* be bullsh!t except for place names!)
- The same thing is going on with "normal movies" only people know better than to openly cite them as sources. Normal movies are still informing the audience's expectations with regard to what they see and "people's reactions" to those things seen etc.
- *The human brain cannot distinguish between "real" and "fantasy" so it all goes into the brain as "real"* (everything perceived in "nature" is "real" else we'd die pretty easily/quickly) - it's only consciously we can separate between the two but once you fall asleep *a fake movie character can easily terrorise you* and so forth.
- (It all goes in as "real" though a movie can be thought of as a bit like being given an *intense daydream*. We know a daydream is 100% bullsh!t since we consciously create and direct it but a movie can also pretend to be about "real" things and because we make no effort to "create" it - it's especially pernicious.)
- I don't watch many movies or television shows (not when compared to "normal people") *and it is a bit frightening to think how much fantasy and bullsh!t is floating about in people's heads*.
- Bullsh!t that needs to be consciously suppressed but which is at all times lurking about in an influential way below the threshold of conscious awareness (though we can often perceive it in others by paying attention to their word choices, what they're focused on [projections] etc.).
- Consciously the audience may understand what they watch is fantasy (so they suppress it and don't speak of it as facts about reality) *but it's still forming genuine memories and genuine connections in their head* (like "soft" or "mild" connections as in a river system connecting two bodies of water) and it does have an influence over them if only in terms of "expectations" ("event priming" can be understood as a practical application of this process/consequence).
- Movies are an essential part of the "thought alchemy" taking place. In so many ways movies are like junk food for the brain - they can "taste" really nice (it's honey to attract the ants so that suggestions can be repeated into reality) but there's nothing about them that's good for you!
- Movies help to lead the audience to where they don't ever want to be _but always where "they" do!_ To "relax and enjoy" a movie you must unthinkingly sacrifice a part of yourself for the lie system!
