- You have come here, to this place, to destroy something beautiful.
- TELL ME four things about this place.
- (e.g. wretched
- above the clouds
- hazy, peaceful
- full of lures for the unwary.)
- TELL ME four things about what you’re destroying.
- (e.g. brilliant
- elegiac
- strange geometries
- gonna fuckin take you down with it.)
- Write them down. This is all that they are.
- TELL ME:
- Who are you?
- Why have you come here, destroyer?
- What has this beautiful thing done, in your eyes, to deserve destruction?
- Why are you cruel?
- Write these four things down. This is all that you are.
- Get up. Stretch. Get snacks. I’ll play the beautiful thing. You’ll play out destroying it.
- WHEN BEAUTY RESISTS DESTRUCTION, I roll.
- A-B: It destroys something in you. Cross something off your list. Tell me how you’re diminished. If you run out, you’re enthralled.
- C-D: It resists. I introduce a complication.
- E-F: It cannot resist. Cross something off its list. Tell me how it’s diminished. When it runs out of items, well.
- When the beautiful thing is destroyed, tell me: what of you survived intact? Was it worth it?
