Pokemon Fire Red Any% FAQ

Q: What are you playing on, it is emulator?
A: No, I'm playing on a DS (phat) which has a gba slot with a capture board installed from http://3dscapture.com/ds/

Q: Why did u reset after u picked squirtle?
A: More then likely I missed the frame for the RNG Manipulation .I'm looking for Rash, Mild, or Modest natures (in that priority), and minimum 18 IV Attack, 29 IV Special Attack, and 21 speed.

Q: Do you use RNG Manipulation?
A: I use a predictor for made by MKDasher (this can be found here http://forums.pokemonspeedruns.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=499 ) its  saves 10 mins checking stats after the weedle fight,  The basic tutorial how to use it is here ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMWlQn8Hoqg )

Q: Why dont you have Brock as a spilt?
A: Because of the inconstant times you could have with catching 0, 1 or 2 slaves I choose not to have it, the misty split is always accurate because you have all the slaves by then.

Q: What about Charmander I've seen good runs of that?
A: While charmander is also a great option for completing the run I want to use squirtle who is more consistant for finishing runs, however I do want to try out charmander runs myself maybe in the future.

Q: Why not play on Leaf Green? Isnt that the better version for Any%?
A: I don't own a leaf green cart, Fire red isnt that much of a disadvantage with having pars as a back up instead of a sandshrew

Q: What is any% are there glitches used?
A: Any% simply means beat the game as quickly as possible. And there are no glitches used in this run. Heres a video of some oversights in this game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kidi_HQus3c none of these are useful in a speedrun

Q: What is World Record/Best Time?
A: For The best known time go to http://www.speedrun.com/pkmnfrlg for the full leaderboard

Q: What Pokemon do u catch/use?
A: Squirtle and its evolutions, pidgey or spearow for fly  & rattata or paras for cut/dig

Q: What about Nidoking?
A: Nidoking gets nurfed here alot in the remakes for example no horn drill, worse moveset ect so squirtle/blastoise is by far faster

Q: Does the version matter?
A: No, you can run this on either FireRed or LeafGreen, however Leaf Green does have a better backup cutter in sandshrew

Q: Do you have a goal time?
A: Sub 210 real time would be a great time, but I mainly want to focus on trying to have fun and enjoying the stream and playing the game more
