>she herself is a recovered rape victim, and dedicated her life to helping others
>Angel is another patient, suffering from Haltlose personality disorder, and sees himself either as a '40s mobster or a gay pornstar
>he often plays along with Charlie's delusions, although while he's more rational, he's also more violent, so Vaggie keeps a constant eye on him
>Niffty is yet another orderly, suffering from a mild OCD, who's also sexually frustrated, and has hit on every male member of the staff
>she's severely addicted to caffeine
>Alastor is the head doctor of the ward - a somewhat jaded, dark-humored man who willingly enables the delusions of his patients, partly to entertain himself, and also, to find an explanation to their psychosis
>Husk is a burned-out alcoholic and war vet who has to spend his twilight years working in the ward as a janitor, since the state cut his pension
>He seems to be main subject of infatuation for Angel's pornstar persona
>Baxter is another patient, who suffers from both delusions and histrionic personality disorder, believing himself to be a stereotypical "mad scientist"
>though very deeply entrenched in his delusion, he is otherwise stable, and aware of his surroundings, but requires constant attention
>Crymini is another orderly, and is tasked with taking care of Baxter

>He adopted Loona while he and Verosika were still a couple, and their break-up had negatively affected all of them, with Blitzo becoming a cynical mess, Loona turning to drugs, sex and alcohol, and Verosika becoming an alcoholic to such a degree that she lost the visitation rights
>she still has her friend group to support her, and, despite her addiction, is an accomplished singer and former model of Val's
>she was mentored by Moxxie, a retired rockstar, who "works" for Blitzo, together with his wife, former groupie and kick-boxer Millie, in order to keep the older man afloat and Loona above the influence
>in reality, his savings from the heydays of his career, plus the guitar lessons he gives has them set for life

the mental ward on earth, not in hell. this is like a Human AU (I think they are human in this but I could be wrong).

but I guess it's "hell" because of the concept of suffering exists
