  25. ⚫ What age can you start to learn to ride ?
  26.
  27. Most centres conduct lessons from 3yrs up with a good mix of kids and adults of any age. From 3-6yrs one on one private lessons are the best and then from 6 or 7yrs kids are usually ready to start learning more horse care skills to be capable to catch, tie, lead, groom and saddle up. From 8yrs kids are stronger to handle more things on their own and have better listening and interest to learn horse parts and all the ground work that goes with horses.

The heel of the boot helps stop your foot falling all the way through the stirrup to prevent getting your foot caught up if you fall. An industry safety standard helmet is essential and most riding centres will provide these for hire. Safety vests are also an optional recommendation. Jeans with long socks or special rider jeans or jodhpurs without the inside seam.
