PIXEL TITANS BOOTH
A PIXEL TITANS Spokesman walks up to the booth. A giant monitor is behind him displaying the PIXEL TITANS logo.
SPOKESMAN:
We now present our feature preview…. STRAFE®!
The image on the monitor then fades to the STRAFE® logo forming as seen in the trailers.
The image then slides to the starting room. The player then picks up the shotgun and heads into the teleporter. A minute of footage is shown. That, however, is enough to spark the audience’s interests.
The monitor zooms in and shows a green wireframe still of the game.
SPOKESMAN:
STRAFE®… Is it a game? Or is it REAL?
After the Spokesman finishes, a GLUTTON bursts out of the wall behind him, smacks him in the face, and menaces the audience watching, particularly our protagonist Tommy. Suddenly, the GLUTTON becomes a green wireframe and disappears.
The spokesman chuckles as he gets back on his feet and wipes the blood off his face.
SPOKESMAN:
STRAFE®, the best game of 1996!
The crowd cheers. We see Tommy cheering with them.
MAY 9th, 1996
There is a montage of news reports.
REPORTER 1:
Are you ready for STRAFE®? Studies say no.
INTERVIEWED BYSTANDER:
First his face melted. Then his head exploded! He’s dead!
REPORTER 2:
The Pope called in calling STRAFE® sick… as in F**king sweet.
CITY – NIGHT
In the city streets Tommy is shown walking on a sidewalk with a bag of POGS in his hand and his Blue Skull disk in the other. In a nearby alleyway, there is a shady dealer in a trench coat.
TOMMY:
Heard you got STRAFE®.
DEALER:
STRAFE® isn’t a game, kid. You’ll die before you beat it.
The dealer kicks down a box labeled “NOT DRUGS” About 666 floppy disks labeled STRAFE® are inside.
TOMMY:
I only need one copy.
DEALER:
Tommy, that IS one copy.
The dealer grabs a gun out of his pocket and points it at his head.
TOMMY:
No, no-
Too late. The dealer has already killed himself. Tommy picks up the box and runs home as he sees a police car coming by.
TOMMY’S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Tommy is calling all his friends about STRAFE®.
TOMMY:
Yo, I just got STRAFE®. Wanna come see me play?
MIKEY:
Hell yeah I do!
ABBY:
Ooh, that sounds fun!
BUDDY:
You have STRAFE®? I gotta see this!
JOBY:
You’re the cool dude now Tommy.
We then cut to Tommy playing the game with his friends huddled around him. Multiple clips of the game, interspersed with shots of Tommy are shown. The crowd CHEERS! Abby gives Tommy a kiss. Tommy keeps playing. We see close up shots of him rapidly moving the mouse and typing the keyboard. He grabs Pizza Rolls out of a drawer. He drinks cans of SURGE. His computer tower starts getting hotter and emitting smoke.
ABBY:
Tommy, STOP!
Tommy doesn’t care. He does soon after his computer shuts off from overheating and his monitor flies off onto the ground.
TOMMY:
We need more RAM.
THE NEXT DAY
Tommy, RAM chips in hand, carefully installs them. He then calls Abby.
TOMMY:
I’ve got those RAM chips in and I’m ordering Pizza. Are you in the mood to see more blood?
ABBY:
Of course I am!
LATER
The doorbell rings. Tommy opens the door to see the pizza delivery man. He is given the pizza and tips the delivery man. Unknown to him or the delivery man, one of the pizza slices has been hacked with a chip.
Tommy is playing STRAFE® again, this time with Abby by his side.
ABBY:
Wow, you beat your own record! You get a fat slice.
Abby goes to pick up the hacked slice of pizza. Tommy notices the chip on the slice.
TOMMY:
A HACKED SLICE!
Tommy knocks the slice out of her hand, where it COLLIDES with a half drank can of SURGE on the ground. The SURGE causes the chip to activate. A beam of light bursts from the monitor and GRABS Abby!
TOMMY:
ABBY!
He tries to pull her back, but it’s no use. Abby is sucked into the monitor, and into the game as a result. All Tommy has of her now is her pants. He pulls a matching red Skull disk out of it and flips it over to reveal a picture of him and Abby. A single tear drips onto the picture.
LATER
Tommy has all of his friends gathered in his apartment. Tommy is playing STRAFE®
TOMMY:
We’ve got to get Abby back, guys.
MIKEY:
How? She’s literally in the game!
TOMMY:
PIXEL TITANS must know.
Suddenly, someone knocks on the door.
TOMMY:
IT’S THE GOVERNMENT!
And it is, as tall men clad in black suits and sunglasses BARGE the door open. Tommy stands up from his chair as Buddy and Mikey jump up from their seats.
 Buddy is holding a skateboard and Mikey is holding a keyboard. Joby gets up and lands a few punches on one MIB.
Mikey dodges a punch from another and WHACKS his head with the keyboard. Blood and keys fall onto the ground.
Buddy JABS the skateboard into one’s stomach. Tommy hops on it and rides it, the MIB’s intestines attached.
After the MIB falls to the ground, Tommy picks up a Skip-It from the ground and DECAPITATES one more MIB. The entire apartment is a bloody mess. The four decide to hide the bodies in the closet.
BUDDY:
I know the way to PIXEL TITANS.
TOMMY:
Take me there.
PIXEL TITANS BUILDING - NIGHT
We see a shot of the PIXEL TITANS skyscraper, moving upwards from the bottom. A PIXEL TITANS sign is displayed on the top of the building.
Buddy’s car drives up to the front of the building. Tommy walks out.
TOMMY:
I’d like to see Mr. Raney please.
GUARD 1:
You are not allowed to see Raney at this time.
TOMMY:
It’s about STRAFE®.
GUARD 2:
Very well then. Access is granted.
Tommy is in the laboratory of Stephen Raney, CEO of PIXEL TITANS and lead developer of STRAFE®. Raney is sitting in a chair, with his back facing Tommy.
TOMMY:
Mr. Raney-
RANEY:
I’m not taking autographs at this moment, kid.
TOMMY:
STRAFE® took my girlfriend Abby.
Raney gets out of his chair.
RANEY:
HOW?!
TOMMY:
I ordered pizza, and one of the slices was hacked, and it got soaked in SURGE, and then the game literally pulled her in!
RANEY:
STRAFE® must have created the chip somehow.
Tell me all you question about STRAFE®.
TOMMY:
The graphics. It’s just not possible. No man could’ve created graphics that realistic!
Raney turns on a large monitor displaying footage of the game.
RANEY:
No man did. STRAFE® autogenerated itself into existence.
TOMMY:
What, like God?
RANEY:
Except God wouldn’t stand a chance against STRAFE®. But you might.
TOMMY:
How do you know all this?
RANEY:
It was my experiment that spawned STRAFE®. It was all a dream. A game that could create itself. But it didn’t stop there. It got worse. And worse. Until the very fateful day.
Raney, in a small fit of rage, takes of his glasses and slams his hands on the table.
RANEY:
STRAFE® KILLED MY SON!
TOMMY:
Just tell me how to get Abby back.
Raney calms down and puts his glasses back on.
RANEY:
I have engineered a rift that can send you into STRAFE®’S virtual reality. A wind socket, for you to get Abby back. You won’t believe-
Raney picks a helmet off the ground.
RANEY:
Your oculars.
Raney slowly puts the helmet on Tommy, who is very anxious about getting Abby back. Once the helmet is on, Raney goes to a control panel, pushes buttons and pulls levers. The helmet is electrifying with green energy. Raney checks power readings on the control panel.
RANEY:
There’s not enough power!
TOMMY:
We need a surge!
Raney notices a fresh can of SURGE on the ground. He shakes it and sprays it on Tommy. The helmet gets faster and more powerful. Tommy has a big grin on his face as he shakes with energy.
Fade to white.
Fade back to reveal the…
ICARUS – ZONE 1 OF STRAFE®
A large green sphere appears in the middle and fades away to reveal Tommy with the Shotgun from the game. Tommy wanders around the area, and then hears footsteps. GLUTTON footsteps. He fires at the GLUTTON.
Tommy shoots a few more GLUTTONS as he goes along his trek. He then sees a group of GLUTTONS charging at him, with a STALKER with them. TOMMY then activates the Shotgun’s flak grenade, eviscerating the GLUTTONS. He then fires upon the STALKER, beheading it.
In the corner of his eye, Tommy notices a Railgun, glowing gold as it does in the game. He picks it up and shoots a CARRIER on the ceiling.
After that, he goes into a corner and retrieves a keycard from a corpse. He gets a food canister from a food dispenser and moves the other way into the unlocked door. Inside, he sees Abby, without her pants… and another Abby!
TOMMY:
Abby!
ABBY:
Tommy!
FAKE ABBY:
Tommy.
The fake Abby is low-poly and has a text-to-speech voice to us, but with the realism of STRAFE®, Tommy can’t tell the difference!
TOMMY:
Alright, which one is the real Abby?
ABBY:
I’m the real Abby!
FAKE ABBY:
I am the real Abby.
Tommy points his gun at the real Abby.
ABBY:
Your favorite kind of Pizza is from Pizza Hut!
He points his gun at the Fake Abby.
FAKE ABBY:
Your favorite kind of Pizza is from Pizza Hut.
ABBY:
Your favorite Ninja Turtle is Michelangelo!
FAKE ABBY:
Your favorite video game is STRAFE®.
TOMMY:
You can’t fool me, STRAFE®.
Tommy shoots the real Abby and goes with the fake. He hands Fake Abby the Skull Disk. GLUTTONS rush out towards them. He opens fire on a few.
TOMMY:
GET US OUT!
FAKE ABBY:
You are so cute.
RANEY’S LAB
Raney flips a few switches and pushes a button. Tommy and the Fake Abby immediately fall from a hole that appears in the ceiling. Fake Abby just stands there and picks up a wrench off a table, while Raney checks up on Tommy.
RANEY:
Are you OK kid?
Tommy:
I’m fine- LOOK OUT!
Just before he sees his attacker, the Fake Abby smacks him on the head with the wrench. She then proceeds to smash his face in.
FAKE ABBY:
Die.
TOMMY:
Why’d you do that?!
FAKE ABBY:
He was trying to kill you for knowing too much about STRAFE®.
Tommy falls for it, just like how he fell for what she said back in STRAFE®.
OUTSIDE PIXEL TITANS
Tommy and Fake Abby walk out of the building.
BUDDY:
Took you long enough! I could’ve watched a movie in that time!
Tommy and Fake Abby get in the car. It speeds off back to the hotel.
TOMMY’S APARTMENT - DAY
Tommy is playing STRAFE® While Fake Abby watches him closely. She is actually gathering information on how he plays so she can kill him later. Tommy loses a run.
FAKE ABBY:
It was fun watching you play, Tommy. I must go home now.
TOMMY:
Bye, Abby.
Fake Abby walks out the apartment.
CITY - DAY
Fake Abby robs someone’s parked car and speeds off into the grasslands. The owner then comes onscreen.
CAR OWNER:
HEY! GIVE ME BACK MY CAR!
Fake Abby drives to an electricity generator in the
GRASSLANDS – DAY
Outside the city. She takes some wires in the car and begins to connect them to the generator. She then finishes with connecting to cords together. A portal opens up behind her. Enemies from STRAFE® pour out.
CITY - DAY
Rifts into STRAFE® are shown opening from buildings, and all around the world. The inhabitants of the city are menaced and killed by the hordes of STRAFE®. One man is pinned down, slashed, and eaten by a CARRIER. Another’s arm is shot off by a STALKER.
TOMMY’S APARTMENT - NIGHT
 Tommy is playing STRAFE® with his friends when he hears something outside. He looks out his window and sees the rampage. He cannot believe it. He gets his friends gathered up in his apartment.
TOMMY:
STRAFE® is generating levels in the real world! Or maybe the real world was always STRAFE®! All we can know for sure, is that everyone else is dead.
MIKEY:
This is bad, bad news.
TOMMY:
But I can still beat it. I always win.
JOBY:
Got any plans?
TOMMY:
I’m going out on the skateboard. You guys stay here and defend the place.
Tommy gets an auto shotgun and a bandolier of shells from his closet, puts on some sunglasses and gets his skateboard.
MIKEY:
It’s too fast man, you’ll crash hard!
TOMMY:
So I’ll wear a damn helmet.
He puts on a helmet, but soon throws it off.
CITY - NIGHT
Tommy hops on his skateboard and starts shooting whatever monster crosses his path. He headshots a GLUTTON. Some TURRETS detect him and open fire. He blocks with his shotgun, and shoots back. A STALKER fires at him. Tommy shoots it. Suddenly, a familiar red Skull Disk is thrown in front of him. Tommy is knocked onto the grass, where several GLUTTONS close in on him. He sees Fake Abby in front of him.

TOMMY:
ABBY! HELP!
Tommy then notices the fake is wearing pants.
FLASHBACK
-	Abby was sucked in by STRAFE®
-	Tommy tried to pull her back out, to no avail
-	He was left with her pants and her Skull Disk
END FLASHBACK
Fake Abby runs off. Tommy gives her the finger.
TOMMY:
FUCK YOU, STRAFE®!
A GLUTTON comes close to tear his leg off. Tommy then remembers the shotgun in his hand. He shoots the GLUTTON in front of him, gets back up, and runs away from the horde.
He shoves a corpse off a motorcycle and starts it up. As he drives across the street, several STALKERS on motorcycles appear by his sides. They fire at Tommy, but he dodges the shots. When they get close enough, they try to ram him into the ground. Tommy fills a STALKER’s head with buckshot, causing it to spin out of control and crash into another STALKER. He then rams into the STALKER on his right.
Several GLOWBRITES in the sky head towards Tommy, who then kicks into high gear and speeds away from them. When the GLOWBRITES go faster and follow him, he shoots them, causing them to explode into acid.
Tommy sees a GLUTTON driving a truck with more GLUTTONS in the back. Instead of dodging, Tommy lets the motorcycle go straight towards the truck and jumps off when he gets close enough. The GLUTTON driving dies from the explosion. Tommy lands on the back of the truck with the other GLUTTONS.
He discharges buckshot to some of the GLUTTONS and throws another off the truck where it is promptly run over by a STALKER on a motorcycle.
Tommy JUMPS on the STALKER and RIPS its head off. He hijacks its motorcycle, turns around, and continues the rampage against STRAFE®. Soon, a car driven by Fake Abby appears on his right.
FAKE ABBY:
You should’ve died.
TOMMY:
You thought wrong.
Fake Abby draws a pistol from the car’s glove compartment and starts shooting Tommy. He blocks it with the shotgun and shoots her arm off. Blood spurts out of the wound. He points the barrel right at Fake Abby’s face.
TOMMY:
Any last words, bitch?
FAKE ABBY:
You will never win.
Tommy pulls the trigger, and Fake Abby’s head explodes quicker than you can say “Pizza Rolls”. The car crashes into a HARVESTER.
TOMMY’S APARTMENT – NIGHT
Back in Tommy’s apartment, Joby, Buddy, and Mikey have boarded the door and windows up to prevent monsters from entering. Buddy hears a knock on the door. The knocks continue and get faster. Joby gets very anxious. Buddy looks through the view hole on the door and sees a GLUTTON.
BUDDY:
They’re in the hallways. Find anything you can use as a weapon.
Buddy grabs a spare wooden board leaning against the wall. Joby gets the bloody Skip-It from off the ground. Mikey pulls out his pocket knife. Buddy slowly walks up to the door and carefully removes the wooden planks. He then slowly opens the door. The GLUTTON runs in and the three begin attacking it. Joby runs out into the
HALLWAY
swinging the Skip-It like a ball-and-chain. He SMACKS a STALKER with it. Buddy slams a CARRIER into a wall with his board. Mikey pins down a GLUTTON and stabs it multiple times. Eventually, more and more people come out of their rooms to see what the ruckus is all about. They are horrified at the monsters and begin assaulting the ones that come down the hallway.
CITY - NIGHT
Tommy’s motorcycle is very badly damaged. It suddenly breaks down. Tommy sees an incoming HARVESTER. He jumps on it. The HARVESTER attempts to throw him off, to no avail. In response, Tommy rips one of its pincers off. The HARVESTER, not wanting any more pain, decides to deal with it and lets Tommy ride it like a bull.
An ACID GLUTTON runs up to Tommy. After some buckshot rips its head off, it bleeds out acid, burning the HARVESTER. Tommy passes by a BRICK, awakening it. It starts chasing after him. Tommy frantically shoots its face. Eventually, it stops in pain, but soon continues his chase.
The BRICK’S chest is now unshielded. Tommy shoots its chest before he realizes he has to reload. He slaps the HARVESTER in the face, signaling it to go faster. It obliges.
Tommy reloads and continues shooting the BRICK. Soon, it breaks apart into large chunks. Tommy hears something. He sees the gigantic crowd of people, led by Joby, Buddy, and Mikey. Tommy jumps off the HARVESTER, who bids him farewell.
TOMMY:
Whoa, that’s one big crowd.
BUDDY:
It sure is. And they’re gonna help you win STRAFE®!
TOMMY:
Alright then. LET’S MOVE OUT!
Tommy signals the crowd to move forward, and they start massacring STRAFE®. A very muscular man RIPS a GLUTTON in half and throws the halves at a HARVESTER. A woman shoots a STALKER in the chest multiple times with a Pistol. A nerd with a prop shield and sword roars a battle cry and SLICES the head off of a GLUTTON. The civilians rampage, and eventually, Buddy comes driving down the road in his car.
BUDDY:
LOOK OUT EVERYONE! THE BUD IS IN TOWN!
Buddy runs over a few GLUTTONS, rams STALKERS on motorcycles into buildings, and drives in between a BRICK’S legs. Police officers on motorcycles come in and circle the BRICK. It picks up one officer and SMASHES him. Another Officer runs off and retrieves a STALKER’S pistol on the ground. He shoots the BRICK’S face, causing it to uncover its chest. Tommy finishes the job for the officer.
ACID GLUTTONS run up to the crowd. A large chunk of them die from the acid. There seems to be no way through for Tommy. At least until he notices the GLUTTONS that run up to him. Instead of shooting them, he RIPS them apart and points them toward the acid. The blood covers up the acid and makes a pathway for Tommy to cross safely. He sees Joby and Mikey getting in Buddy’s car. Tommy runs in there with them.
TOMMY:
Where to?
BUDDY:
The nearest train station.
Buddy starts the car and shifts into high gear. Tommy rolls down the window and starts shooting anything he sees. A HARVESTER jumps on top of the car and peeks inside. Tommy fires at its head point-blank.
