Learning the Bukkit API without knowing Java is the same as trying to learn the piano without knowing how to use your hands.

Sure, it can be done. But you're going to spend far more time fumbling around fucking shit up and getting pissed off at yourself and anyone trying to help.

This doesn't mean you have to be some Java expert or anything. Just like with learning the piano, no one goes in being a master of hands. Everyone still has to learn how to use what they already know about using their hands in order to play the piano. Everyone has that learning curve, but at least they aren't trying to figure out how to even wiggle their fingers at the same time.

Take the time and at least learn the basics of Java. It only takes a few days/weeks. The advanced stuff will come later, during your process of learning the Bukkit API, as the need arises.

It may seem boring, or a waste of time, but trust me... It's even more boring and a bigger waste of time when you keep hitting brick wall after brick wall because you never took the time to learn the basics first.
