  1. NINO SUPPORTS (Fire Emblem 6x: Maiden of Darkness)
  2.
  3. SUPPORT 1: HUGH
  4. [C-Support]
  5. Hugh: Gaah... where could I have put that thing... if Grandmother knew that I lost her book, she'd turn me into a toad or something! [If Niime is dead: "... Grandma would probably haunt me if she figured out I'd lost her book, I'm almost certain she had a spell for it...!"]
  6. <Nino comes onscreen>
  7. Nino: Hmmm? Excuse me, but did you lose something?
  8. <Hugh turns around to face Nino>
  9. H: Huh? Oh, yes I did. It's this spellbook, nice and thick, black-leather cover...
  10. N: ... Gold trim on the pages, lots of complicated pictures and words in it?
  11. H: Yeah! That's exactly the one!
  12. N: Yes, I found it on the ground over by the stump over there. I figured that you had probably dropped it, since you were sleeping there earlier.
  13. <Hugh bounces up and down a bit>
  14. H: Ah! I, erm, wasn't sleeping you see... I was just, well... meditating! Yeah, that's right. The book says that meditation and focus are necessary to use the magic within it, and I was just clearing my mind is all.
  15. N: Really now? I see! I didn't think that Anima magic needed much meditation. I've mostly got along well enough with the right words. But I guess there's more to it than I thought!
  16. H: Oh, this isn't Anima magic. It's Dar- er, 'Elder' Magic. Anyway, I've gotta get going, but thanks for finding my book for me...?
  17. N: Call me Iris. <Hugh leaves the scene> ... Elder Magic, huh...
  18. <Nosferatu gained, placed in Hugh's inventory>
  19.
  20. [B-Support]
  21. Nino: Excuse me, Hugh?
  22. Hugh: Eh? What do you need, Iris?
  23. N: Well, when I found your book on Dark Mag-
  24. H: Elder Magic.
  25. N: A-ha! <Nino bounces up and down> Just as I thought! Everyone else that I've met calls that sort of magic Dark, but you call it Elder. I met someone before, a man with purple hair just like... yours...
  26. H: Really now? And who'd that be, huh?
  27. N: Well... this is going to sound strange, but I think I met your father long ago.
  28. <Hugh backs up a bit>
  29. H: ... W-w-wait, what!? How'd you know my old man? He's been dead for, what, almost twenty years now! You certainly don't LOOK that old, so when did you meet him?
  30. N: It was a long time ago, like I said before. He, erm... well, he actually taught me to read.
  31. H: W-what!? Were you like a toddler or something?
  32. N: Fourteen, actually. And if I remember correctly, you were almost two at the time!
  33. H: O-okay, now you're starting to frighten me, Iris.
  34. N: It's a long story, but to put it simply... actually, nevermind. I think you'd be better off not knowing. <Nino leaves>
  35. H: Hey, wait!... Damn, and just as it was getting good. What a mysterious woman, that Iris... Wait, now that I think about it, didn't Grandma say that dad's wife had a sister named that...?
  36.
  37. [A-Support]
  38. Hugh: Hey, Iris, stay right there!
  39. Nino: Eep! Hugh, what're you doing here?
  40. H: Stop playing dumb with me. I think I've figured it all out.
  41. N: O-oh? And what do you think you've gotten?
  42. H: Your story just doesn't add up. You say that you met my dad twenty years ago and that he taught you how to read, but my mom had a sister with your name... and your hair... and was also skilled in Anima magic!
  43. N: ...
  44. H: So it all makes sense now! You must be my aunt Iris!
  45. N: ... What?
  46. <Hugh bounces up and down a bit>
  47. H: Haha, I knew it! Grandma never said how old my mom's sister was, but I guess she was pretty young! I never really knew my extended family, just that I had them somewhere... my mom was a great practitioner of magic, although you already knew that of course. I really looked up to her, respected her a lot.
  48. N: ...
  49. H: Grandma and Dad always wanted me to be a proper user of Elder Magic, but I never really had a taste for it. Too scary for real use, but it makes for good reading. When Dad died... well, he and mom both went out to try and stop one of the biggest storms in history, and they managed to save me and Grandma, but...
  50. N: Hugh...
  51. H: So, I had to become better. I just had to make sure that something like that wouldn't happen again, you know? I picked up some of my dad's most basic of tomes and studied them as hard as I could. I still don't think I've mastered them, but I at least have a handle on how it works. I think I've made him proud at least...
  52. N: ... Don't you worry about a thing, Hugh. Your dad and... and my sister, they'd both be so happy to see how far you've come along.
  53. H: Aunt Iris...
  54. N: There, there...
