1. [ FATAL ERROR: FILE: whatever NOT FOUND ON SERVER ]
2.
3. -> Basic Controls
4. Welcome to Hope's Peak Academy! Allow me to explain some basic controls, if you please.
5. You may move the on-screen target using the analog stick.
6. On any occasion the target lights up, you may push the circle button to investigate what lies under it.
7. Furthermore, you may use the directional buttons, as well as the L and R buttons to move your point of view around.
8. I humbly suggest starting by exploring this classroom.
9.
10. You may leave a room by pressing the cross button.
11.
12. When in the corridor, you may push the triangle button to gaze upon a map much like the one currently on the screen.
13. Pushing the triangle button one more time will make the map disappear. Isn't that splendid!
14.
15. By pointing the target at your fellow students and pushing the circle button, you may start a conversation with them.
16. Conversation is key to advancing the story, so make note of it!
17.
18. -> Student IDs
19. You can now use the Student ID Menu, where you may inquire about various game-related affairs.
20. The Student ID Menu is available by pressing the square button.
21. On the menu, you will find the School Rules and profiles of your fellow students in the Report Card.
22. We regret that there some of the options, like Map and Evidence Bullets, that are still not available.
23. If you wish to create a new saved game or restore one, please check the System option.
24. In addition, you may now access a back log by pushing the Select button.
25. We are kindly keeping everyone’s statements on file for you there, and you are welcome to use it if you want to read something again.
26.
27. -> Reaction Shots
28. I beg your pardon for interrupting, but this is the tutorial speaking.
29. I would like to explain about “Reaction Shots”, if you’d let me.
30. Your next action is probably going to be talking to Sayaka Maizono-sama, is it not?
31. In the following conversations, an occasional word in purple may appear. Much like in the previous sentence.
32. When a word in purple appears, you may push the triangle button to go into Reaction Mode.
33. By pushing the directional keys to select a word, and then the circle button...
34. You can talk about the word in question in more detail.
35. Well then, please enjoy this invaluable Reaction Shot.
36.
37. It seems you are a fast learner. How splendid!
38. The Reaction Shot is an essential skill for raising game flags... er, I mean advance the story, so make sure to use it!
39.
40. -> Instant Movement
41. Good news for all of you who feel moving through the school is bothersome!
42. We have just enabled the “instant movement” function of your ID menu’s Map function.
43. When you access the Map menu, it’s a simple matter of indicating the location you wish to move to.
44. However, the places where you move instantly are limited to only a few locations.
45. In addition, you cannot move instantly to places you have not yet visited or that are locked off.
46. Furthermore, according to the needs of the story there may be times when instant movement is disabled.
47. We hope you enjoy this latest addition to your toolset!
48.
49. -> Free Activity
50. During your stay in (@^-* 91hhs ((0, there will be periods of time provided for “free activity”.
51. During those times, you may spend time with your fellow classmates and strengthen your connections with them.
52. Furthermore, you may give them presents to advance your friendship even further.
53. Presents can be acquired by using the Monomono Machine in the Classroom 1F, so please drop in for a visit!
54. As you deepen your connections with your classmates, you can witness hidden events and add data to their profiles in the Report Card.
55. In addition, you may receive various handy gameplay skills from your new friends.
56. By all means, go on and communicate with as many kids as you can!
57. When you spend time with a classmate, some time will pass and you will find yourself back in your room.
58. After you exercise Free Activity several times the story will resume again.
59. If you wish to skip Free Activity, you may rest on the bed in your room instead.
60. We do not think you should take advantage of that option often, but it is useful when all you want is to advance the story.
61.
62.
63. To start with, how about spending some time with Sayaka Maizono-sama?
64. We apologize for choosing the first partner for you.
65.
66. -> Coins
67. You have probably found several small coins at various locations in Hope's Peak Academy.
68. These are the fabled MonoXXXX Coins you hear about everywhere these days.
69. You may check the number of MonoXXXX Coins you have collected at the ID Card Menu screen.
70. You may use those MonoXXXX Coins in the machine found in this room, and acquire commodities for your effort.
71. The more MonoXXXX Coins you collect, the easier it is to acquire unique items.
72. You may confirm the commodities in your possession in the Presents menu.
73.
74. -> Nonstop Debate
75. As the School Trial proceeds, at certain points a Nonstop Debate phase will be conducted.
76. During Non Stop Debate, the discussion will proceed automatically, with our characters testifying one after another.
77. Your duty is to find lies and contradictions hidden in the testimonies...
78. ...and use “Evidence Bullets” to win the debate.
79. For now, we will load only the Evidence Bullet you need into the Evidence Bullet Cylinder.
80. Use the analog pad to move the target scope, and the triangle button to shoot.
81. Pay close attention to the testimonies given, and aim your Evidence Bullet wisely.
82. Be careful! If the time counter reaches zero, you will fail the phase and the game.
83. Thank you for listening. Enjoy Non Stop Debate!
84.
85. That was the extent of this phase’s debate.
86. As long as you don’t find and expose the lie or contradiction hidden in it, it will repeat indefinitely.
87. Did you notice words in a different color appearing during the debate?
88. Those are the holes in the testimony. We call them “Weak Points”.
89. Weak Points are especially important declarations the debaters make.
90. Evidence Bullets are effective only against Weak Points, so be careful!
91. Please shoot this discussion’s Weak Point with your Evidence Bullet.
92. In addition, holding the cross button allows you to fast forward the debate.
93.
94. Hold the R button to enter Concentration Mode.
95. During Concentration Mode, the conversation’s speed slows down, allowing you to listen to it without stress.
96. Furthermore, your scope target’s becomes less shaky, making it easier to aim at the Weak Points.
97. Staying in Concentration Mode reduces your Concentration Meter, so pay attention.
98. The Concentration Meter refills with time. Don’t lose your head, and rest for a while!
99.
100. -> Climax Inference
101. The final, deciding riddle of the school trial... we call it Climax Inference.
102. In this phase, we will go over the details of the crime, step by step.
103. Everything that happened will be presented to you in the form of a comic, but...
104. ...some panels of that comics have gone missing.
105. Your job is to choose from the “Inference Panels” laid out before you, and attempt to complete the comic.
106. Furthermore, by placing the target over a missing panel and pushing the circle button...
107. ...we will gratuitously provide you with a hint.
108.
109. -> Machine Talk Battle
110. During School Trial, there are times when your opponent refuses to listen to anything you say.
111. In times like this, a one-on-one battle between you and your opponent will occur...
112. We call it Machine-gun Talk Battle (MTB).
113.
114. During MTB, your goal is to destroy arguments made by your opponent by matching a rhythm.
115.
116. Please time your button pushes to match the moments when the tempo markers reach the very middle of the screen.
117.
118. When a tempo marker reaches the center of the screen, press the circle button to lock on your opponent’s argument.
119.
120. When the next tempo marker reaches the center of the screen, press the triangle button to destroy their locked-on argument.
121. Doing that will inflict damage on your opponent. But if you fail to so, you will hurt yourself instead.
122.
123. Furthermore, you can make combos by matching button pushes with the tempo markers several times in a row. This will cause the tempo to rise.
124. On the other hand, if you miss several times in a row, the tempo will go down.
125. As the tempo changes, so does the timing of your button pushes, so please be careful.
126.
127. After your opponent is inflicted a certain amount of damage, they will come out with a Weak Point argument.
128. Just like during regular arguments, you should shoot it with an Evidence Bullet.
129. If you manage to do it within a certain amount of time, victory shall be yours.
130. Should your Expression Meter empty, or time runs out, the battle ends in failure.

146. During your esteemed stay in (@^-* 91hhs ((0, there will be periods of time allocated towards "free activity."
147. We encourage you to take the utmost opportunity of these times to spend time with your fellow shipgoers and strengthen your connections with them.
148. Furthermore, you may be generous enough to kindly provide them with presents to advance your friendship even further.
149. As you deepen your connections with your classmates, data will be updated in your personal Student Record, and you shall perhaps even gain access to hidden events. Unfortunately, due to the rushed constraints of our humble cruise, bonus content is currently unavailable. :-(
150. In addition, you may receive various handy gameplay skills from your new friends.
151. By all means, please energetically communicate with as many esteemed guests as you can!
152. After spending time with a classmate, you may find yourself growing tired and returning to your room in order to rest and rejuvenate.
153. Once you have exercised your Free Activity several times, the story will once again resume.
154. Should you wish to skip over Free Activity, you may rest on the bed in your room instead.
155. This sort of shut-in behavior is unadvisable to our esteemed guests, so we do not advise that you take advantage of this option often, but it will certainly be of use towards those who simply wish to advance the story.
