Pretenders – Pretenders (1980) [DCD Rhino's Remastered Reissue '2006]

Originally released in 1980, in 2003, the album was ranked number 155 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. In 1989, the same magazine ranked it the 20th best album of the 1980s. In 2006 the album was remastered & re-released and includes a bonus disc with outtakes, BBC sessions, and previously unreleased demos and live gems. An extensive booklet contains additional photos and new liner notes by James McNair.

Pretenders – Get Close (1986)

Get Close is the fourth album by rock group The Pretenders, released in 1986. The album contained the band’s two biggest Mainstream Rock Tracks chart hits, "Don’t Get Me Wrong" and "My Baby", both of which reached #1. McIntosh and Cunningham would be re-united in 1992 as members of Paul McCartney’s backing band. They appear together on McCartney’s 1993 album Off the Ground and the subsequent live release Paul Is Live.

The Singles is The Pretenders’ 1987 compilation album and features all the band’s UK single hits to that date, as well as including "I Got You Babe" which Chrissie Hynde had performed with UB40 in 1985. The album reached #69 in the US album chart and #6 in the UK.

Pretenders – Packed! (1990)

Packed! is the fifth album by rock group The Pretenders, released in 1990. For this album, the only real member of the group is Chrissie Hynde; no other person is pictured anywhere within the album package, and a rotating cast of session musicians (rather than a set band) is used to back Hynde throughout, effectively making this a solo album by Hynde, only using the Pretenders name to satisfy contractual obligations. However, drummer Blair Cunningham plays on all tracks, though he is not credited as part of the band.

Last of the Independents is the sixth album by rock group The Pretenders, released in 1994. The album also marked the official return of Chambers, who had been fired by Hynde eight years prior.

Pretenders – The Isle Of View (1995)

The Isle of View is a live acoustic album by rock band The Pretenders, released in 1995. It was recorded during a live, televised performance at London’s Jacob Street Studios. A string quartet accompanied Chrissie Hynde for much of the performance. The title is a pun on the phrase I Love You.
