  15. Characters
  16.
  17. Uematsu Fujisuke -
  18. Something of a hero of the town who tells everyone to leave any disputes to him, the strongest man of the town. His father left the town a few years ago and has yet to make any form of contact whatsoever. Has had a long history with Suguru and Genta.
  19.
  20. Kunisaki Suguru -
  21.
  22. His tenacious spirit has led people to call him “Suguru the Serpent”, and out of the 132 fights he had with his friend Fujisuke, he’s lost 87 of them and tied 7 of them. He’s the more cool-headed one but he aspires to be a musician.
  23.
  24. Kusunoki Genta -
  25.
  26. He’s been friends with Fujisuke and Suguru for a long time now, and he’s the biggest informant of the town. His information ranges wildly from bath peeking spots, yam digging spots, and town scandals.
  27.
  28. Dragon Bite -
  29.
  30. A team that came to the town searching for a “blonde guy wearing a sukajan” that they apparently had an old grudge with so they could do their “business” with them. The number of members, their goal, and their background are all completely unknown.
  31.
  32. Blonde Guy Wearing a Sukajan -
  33.
  34. A man who apparently came to the town to visit a grave. Suguru seemed to have a problem with him but was apparently knocked out in one hit upon confronting him about it. In either case, his identity is unknown.

  40. ~One day in that town, Suguru happened across an outsider who was “a blonde guy wearing a sukajan” and was knocked out by him in one hit~
  41.
  42. Fujisuke came to visit Suguru to tease him about his loss, but ended up hearing about his aspirations to go to Tokyo and become a musician. Fujisuke was taken aback and threw fists with him saying “You’re gonna abandon this town?!”, but Suguru said that his punches wouldn’t do anything to shake his determination. Upon hearing Fujisuke laugh at him while saying “You want to be a musician?!”, Suguru responded passionately with “You think someone’s dream is something to laugh at?!” Fujisuke was too shocked to do anything about his old friend’s radical change of heart and unwavering determination.
  43.
  44. On the day he was on his way to Tokyo, two outsiders showed up in front of him while he waited for a bus alone, asking “Did a blonde dude pass by here at all?” They apparently didn’t like his attitude, so they ended up fighting. Suguru did his best to protect his beloved guitar from them, but not only did he get beaten up in the process, his guitar ended up getting destroyed as well. Upon Fujisuke learning this, he decided to take revenge on the two of them for destroying his best friend’s dreams and offered his own encouraging words of “This place ain’t a bird cage. It’s our warm and cozy nest.” He then learned that the two of them were after the “blonde guy wearing a sukajan”, and were members of a team called Dragon Bite.
  45.
  46. After talking about stories of their silly past, Fujisuke and Suguru said their farewells to each other. Suguru told Fujisuke that on top of getting revenge for him, he should get back at that “blonde guy wearing a sukajan”, as well as leaving him with the last words of “and take that crazy-ass punch of his, then you’ll understand, too” before leaving the town for good.
