# Chapter 3

>> Rain

Scene started with Rain in front of the graves of the children trio. He apologised to them and promised to avenge them. Rain commented that it was the first time he hated someone so badly. Roca agreed with him, while warning him not to be swallowed by hatred. (Did writer-kun forget what tragedies Rain went through in season 2?)

Rhus and Nini finished reporting to Myulen. Rain asked Nini to inquire Oscar regarding Vanhelmer's whereabouts but Oscar refused since they were no longer part of the mission involving Vanhelmer. Rain's group was under standby orders and were allowed acting alone. Rain asked Nini Oscar's whereabouts instead to ask him himself. The rest of the group was worried about him and decided to tag along.

When Rain found Oscar, Oscar refused because Rain's group failed the escort mission and was deemed powerless. Rain, wanting to prove his strength, challenged Oscar to a duel. Nini was surprised that Rain managed to fight toe to toe with Oscar, the second strongest man in Caledfwlch. Rhus commented that Rain's proof of transcendence is one that grows in strength. Oscar eventually recognised Rain's strength and agreed to add them to the mission. Apparently there were many witness reports regarding Vanhelmer. Oscar immediately ordered the group to investigate ruins close to the capital Lorestan (jp: Rōresutan), saying that he would report to Myulen himself. Before Rhus left with the group, Oscar asked him who exactly Rain was, to which Rhus replied that Rain was born with proof of transcendence, not injected like other Caledfwlch. Oscar was amused at the growth of Rain's proof of transcendence and his strength. Oscar added that since Rain was going to be stronger than even their captain one day, Shelna would be safe and prosperous with someone of Rain's strength in Caledfwlch. However, Rhus commented that it was only if Rain remained in Caledfwlch before leaving, leaving Oscar dumbfounded.

Roca and Marubomb had a funny conversation (a gag). Rhus commented to Rain that Rain had great friends trying to cheer him up. Rain said he was thankful but he really was not in the mood to answer them. Rhus asked Rain that since he had seen how Livonia was, what does Rain think of it. Rain replied that from his point of view the world was twisted and wondered what kind of woman Snefringa is. According to the legend, Snefringa was the youngest sister among the three daughters of the king at that time (JP: toki no ou, not sure if it meant king at that time or King of Time, shall see). Apparently daughters in the royal bloodline had special power called the power of priestess (JP: miko, people familiar with Japanese folklore should recognise this word). Hence, Snefringa headed to fight with Omega together with a knight that protected the royalty, Ridal (JP: ridaru). Snefringa already had a young child at that time and she fought for her country and her child. Rain and Rhus further commented on different perspectives and how it was okay to have their own views. Roca and Marubomb commented that Rain's expression softened and regrettably their gag had no effect.

Rain and Rhus had another conversation about proof of transcendence. Rain explained that he had to work really hard to be able to use it gradually. According the Rhus, the drug that allowed normal people to use proof of transcendence was developed 10 years ago. Since the drug was invented after Rain was born, Rain wondered if his bloodline was really descendants of Snefringa. Rhus denied and said that there some hidden truths surrounding Snefringa, and they were the ones linked with the Rain's roots. Rhus was the only one who knew about the truths and Rain had to defeat him to know. Rhus commented that Rain's duel with Oscar was amazing and the time of their own duel was near. However, it would have to be after their current mission.

Scene briefly shifted to Vanhelmer talking to the being in the sky, saying that their time was near and be patient.

Rain's group eventually arrived in their destination. They wondered if Vanhelmer wanted to tank on the capital since it was so near. And then they talked about his attack from the sky. Roca said that there was a way against it since Vanhelmer seemed not to be able to use it remotely. Then suddenly they heard someone fighting. The group rushed over to see a child (teen?) fighting against a group of Omega species. They offered to help but the child named refused, not wanting to be indebted. However the group decided that it was better they clean the Omega species quickly to prevent drawing Vanhelmer's attention. The child then introduced himself as Mexxe (JP: mettse, really no idea I should spell it and decided randomly...), an adventurer.

As the Omega species were defeated, Mexxe was amazed at their strength as expected of Caledfwlch. It was found that Mexxe unknowingly got injured. Nini checked his body and confirmed that he was not infected by Omega. Mexxe revealed that he found a hidden room and was excited to know if it had treasures inside, and then headed home. The presence of hidden room got the group interested and they went to search for it. The group eventually managed to find the hidden room and the room looked like it used to be making something. They found a board with some faded text with only a few words still readable. As they were wondering about the meaning of the text, Vanhelmer showed up and asked what they were doing there.

They had some conversation about some previous conversation Rain had with Vanhelmer and Ihana. And then the fight ensued. Rhus tried to use Wygarl which was already approved but could not. As they were in a pinch, Mexxe attacked Vanhelmer from behind, thinking the group was going to steal the treasures of the room he discovered. The group told Mexxe to run but he refused, saying that if he could not abandon them due to his adventurer's spirit (is he a Tulien's variant). And then Vanhelmer muttered it was about time, and a white colour Omega-looking machine landed on the capital.
