- PERSONAL BACKGROUND: Hwamin was born in Seoul, South Korea. But after living there for approximately 8-9 years, she and her family moved to Melbourne, Australia. During her wonderful time spent there, Hwamin learned English and dancing. Though she started dancing when she was very young, she was a hundred times more passionate about it than she was before. Since she and her family were new to the whole Canadian culture and how the financial things worked, etc., she promised to be a successful artist who will support her family all the way. Though she was young, Hwamin auditioned for varies of entertainment companies in South Korea until she got accepted into one of them, namely JYP. Hwamin moved back to South Korea with her older sister at the time. During her time as a trainee, her family managed to move back to South Korea and they reunited.
