  1. <-- me going to Mysrai's realm to drop off a present for Aschwar
  2. Undyed pathways.
  3. Throughout the location, small dancing flames flicker and spark. Undyed tan and grey wool yarn runs underfoot, parting to ascend in geometric lacy patterns of switchbacks, lanes, and side alleys before rejoining with the main weft of the road. To either side, the houses are dilapidated, dull, identical structures empty of symbol or any visible signs of habitation save for smoke stains of dark felt climbing the outer wall of buff-hued cashmere chimneys. Empty gardens and unadorned grid fencing of loosely trellis-stitched hempen thread front most, and the doors are simply chain-stitched on and hanging open, slumped in piles of threads to the ground. Walking next to their companion, Aschwar smiles softly here. Filling the air about Him with a comfortable heat, Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan lounges here in a lazy, attractive manner.
  4. You see exits leading north and south.
  5.
  6. Reko arrives from the north. <-- arrived at same time, from opposite direction
  7.
  8. You blink.
  9.
  10. Reko blinks.
  11.
  12. look at this STUDMUFFIN
  13. Surrounded with an aura of comfortable heat and passionate ecstasy, His sublime visage is far more potent than any mortal should bear; making it clear that He is a radiant immortal. A face that is filled with arrogant angles, lent easily to smirking, and void-black, lidless eyes that are given to sparkling with swiftly-changing constellations give Him the appearance of a sly, attractive youth. Appearing as a wire-muscled adolescent, stained a coppery brown by the sun, His limbs hold in orbit about them a constant flow of poppy blossoms both shredded and whole. His hair is an attractive, feathered mess atop His head, tousled and streaked with shimmering powders of copper and scarlet sparks that shimmer and pop in barely-restrained energies. Dark, rubescent powders mix with ivory beneath His eyes, along His neck, and across His collarbones, displaying incomprehensible hieroglyphs that curl upon themselves in puzzling suggestions of barely manifested realities.
  14. He is wearing:
  15. a three-layered tunic of bright ivory that has been pulled low over His chest;
  16. a cropped pair of deep grey trousers that hang low on His hips in a provocative manner;
  17. a burgundy belt of leather cinched loose and carefree;
  18. a hooded coat of striking rainbow hues hung loose around His biceps.
  19.
  20. look at the GOOD BEAR
  21. Radiant gold and inky black compete for prominence in the thick fur that covers this enormous tae'dae's body, the well-groomed hair shifting like fields of wheat and clouds through the night sky with each movement. Despite their thick limbs and eleven-and-a-half feet of height, an aura of well-being and contentment radiates off of their body, only enhanced by the gentle smile that is nearly always present on their muzzle. Glittering mis-matched eyes, one brown and one green, stare with a gentle warmth at the world around them, only inches below a straw beach hat adorned with seashells that covers the top of their head from view. A brilliant red hieroglyph crackles in the centre of their forehead, flaring occasionally with small tendrils of red lightning. They are nicely dressed in a comfortable pair of deep grey trousers, held up by a burgundy belt of leather, and a three-layered tunic of bright red-violet cloth that fits them nearly perfectly. A hooded coat of striking vermillion hues hangs atop this, flower petals hand-sewn across its embroidery and circling the black star easily visible on their back. Light tan, a pair of strap boots are a stark contrast to their fur and have been decorated with little, hand-drawn moths.
  22. Aschwar has an air of extreme strength.
  23.
  24. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "Ah my apologies."
  25.
  26. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "...You ok?"
  27.
  28. Pausing briefly as He looks up to speak, Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan says, "And then, of course, you have to think of what he wil--hrm?"
  29.
  30. Your heart skips a beat as Mysrai's lips quirk into a small smirk, leaving Him arrogantly and impossibly handsome as He does.
  31.
  32. You have emoted: Gurashi opens their mouth, then just as quickly shuts it, standing up straighter in their spot.
  33.
  34. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "Apologies My Lord."
  35.
  36. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "Erm, if this is a private matter I can go. If not, may I listen and learn?"
  37.
  38. You think to yourself: ** a wash of color, and emotion, swirling, chaotic, joy, replaced instantly with deep, buried dread **.
  39.
  40. You have emoted: With a huffy gasp, Gurashi bows politely to Mysrai, then turns to Aschwar, bouncing up and down and waving in greeting.
  41.
  42. Your stomach flip-flops as Mysrai arches an eyebrow, looking towards Reko with curiosity. "I was simply walking with My dear Asch through the realm. If you wish to follow, that is a choice you must make."
  43.
  44. Aschwar beams wide and waves towards you, turning and offering Reko a polite bow of greeting before returning their attention to their friend. "Hello, friend Gurashi!"
  45.
  46. You have emoted: Offering Aschwar a weak smile, Gurashi bobs their head side to side, suddenly fumbling with their bag and proceeding to pull out treats, which they nearly drop in their eagerness.
  47.
  48. You give a nest-shaped meringue carrying a chocolate egg to Aschwar.
  49. You give a nest-shaped meringue carrying a chocolate egg to Revelrous Reko m'Viraz.
  50. You give a nest-shaped meringue carrying a chocolate egg to Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan.
  51.
  52. Reko smiles softly.
  53.
  54. As He turns His head back towards the tae'dae, Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan says, "So yes, if you are looking to have someone that close, My sweet, you really must make an effort to not undersell your own features."
  55.
  56. As they accept the sweets and hold it close to their chest, Aschwar says, "I do not know what You mean! I am just me, how can I make less of me?"
  57.
  58. You think to yourself: ** continued swirling emotion - a terrible feeling, a joyful feeling - happy, sad - what should do **.
  59.
  60. You face lights up as you smile brightly at Aschwar.
  61.
  62. You feel weak in the knees as Mysrai laughs lightly, raising a hand to His hair and raking His fingers through. The motion releases flecks of coppery energy that shine and rain down about His face, only serving to further frame His attractive features.
  63.
  64. You stare blankly at Mysrai.
  65.
  66. You think to yourself: .......... ** faint hints of magenta, flecked with gold who -is- their new friend - maybe too pretty for Magnagora .... **.
  67.
  68. As He places a hand gently on Aschwar's arm, Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan says, "Please, My dear. You are too humble! A finer specimen of tae'dae beauty could hardly be found in the First World, no matter how homely you may have been in your own."
  69.
  70. You have emoted: Gurashi glances across the group towards Reko, their short tail wagging twice before returning to look, confused, between the tae'dae and the Divine.
  71.
  72. Mysrai shifts His weight to His opposite foot, trousers sagging ever-so-slightly as He does to reveal a hint of the dark flesh of His hip. "I am certain there are plenty who have seen you and find themselves besotted."
  73.
  74. You stare blankly into space.
  75.
  76. You think to yourself: ** starting to piece together bits - wait - Friend Aschwar is going to be -seeing- someone? or... **.
  77.
  78. You huff, puffing your cheeks.
  79.
  80. Aschwar disappears their sweet, causing it to vanish in a swirl of golden sand as they reach up to rub awkwardly at the back of their head. "W-well, I think they just like being friends! I am not sure how to be sotted."
  81.
  82. You think to yourself: ** what is sotted? **.
  83.
  84. Mysrai raises a semi-closed fist to His hand, doing a poor job of concealing His grin as He offers Aschwar a faint hint of His approval. "Please, My sweet Asch, you need not worry. Simply put, you have managed to strike the awe of your own beauty within the hearts of others."
  85.
  86. You gaze softens as you smile at Aschwar.
  87.
  88. Aschwar blushes deeply, raising their paws to cover their face. "What?! No, no! I am just very nice, that is all. I do not know how I would act if people thought I was pretty and beautiful like You, Shofets!"
  89.
  90. You have emoted: Gurashi suddenly pulls out a notepad covered in flowers and pollen-dusted bees, scribbling hurriedly as they write: 'yes! aschwar is beautiful! such nice fur! such pretty soul! so good - the bestest!' They hold up the notepad towards the tae'dae, then look up into the air, remembering. They glance towards Mysrai and Reko for assistance.
  91.
  92. You huff, puffing your cheeks.
  93.
  94. You think to yourself: ** a gentle ticking .... puzzling ..... **.
  95.
  96. Reko nods his head at you, showing his acceptance.
  97.
  98. You think to yourself: ....... ** maths ** .....
  99.
  100. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "Own what makes you beautiful."
  101.
  102. You think to yourself: ...... ** Shofets? a recollection of a dark-haired girl rushing into the Orrery and delivering many tickles - wait **.
  103.
  104. Esei tells you, "** You feel a soft feathery brush against the back of your hand, curiosity... **."
  105.
  106. Mysrai glances aside and reads aloud the note, "Yes. Aschwar IS beautiful. Such nice fur. Such pretty soul. So good, the bestest." He grins a savage grin that flashes too-perfect teeth and turns your knees to jelly, saying simply, "Apparently your dear Friend Gurashi agrees with Me that you are quite beautiful, My Heart."
  107.
  108. You have emoted: Gurashi opens their mouth, then shuts it again as Mysrai reads their note aloud to Aschwar, expression stupefied as the realization continues to sink in.
  109.
  110. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** wave after wave of confused, heart-fluttering magenta **."
  111.
  112. Esei tells you, "...are you alright?"
  113.
  114. Aschwar flails their arms wildly through the air in a particularly animated bit of movement, stomping their feet in place. "N-no! That's not fair! Friend Gurashi is one of my bestest friends, he's sup--" They pause, look closely at you, and then continue, "They're supposed to say nice things about me! Like I think they are very pretty and kind too! Very best!"
  115.
  116. Bizirik, the leothin chirps happily at Mysrai.
  117.
  118. You think to yourself: ... ** Shofets? ** ...
  119.
  120. Esei tells you, "Do you need help?"
  121.
  122. Mysrai seems to consider this for a moment, pressing His cheek against His fist for a moment before turning to Reko. "And you, little one? Do you believe My Asch to be beautiful?"
  123.
  124. You have emoted: Gurashi gasps, then begins to scribble frantically: 'because are friends makes it even more true!' They puff their cheeks and look up at Aschwar, tail wagging a mile a minute, a blur of orange and white as they avoid making too much eye contact with Mysrai.
  125.
  126. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** flustered embarrassment and continued washes of deepening magenta suddenly, concise--** NO am -justfinemanythankyous-."
  127.
  128. Reko looks momentarily startled at being addressed but quickly regains his composure. "I think all have their own beauty and the potential for such. Aschwar is indeed so. But we all need to embrace such for it to truly shine."
  129.
  130. Esei tells you, "...I..."
  131.
  132. Reko ponders Aschwar thoughtfully, looking him up and down.
  133.
  134. Esei tells you, "If you're sure?"
  135.
  136. Your heart skips a beat as Mysrai's lips quirk into a small smirk, leaving Him arrogantly and impossibly handsome as He does.
  137.
  138. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says to Aschwar, "To do otherwise is a disservice to yourself and the world around you."
  139.
  140. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** a-a-affirmation - no danger! just Shofets! good shofets! **."
  141.
  142. Esei tells you, "I gave you tea. Maybe pour that on yourself? It will cool you down, I'm sure."
  143.
  144. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** burning magenta confusion!? **."
  145.
  146. Mysrai turns and spreads His arms wide to either side, bowing slightly as He revels in the agreement on all sides to His point. His coat slips further down His arms as He does, revealing more of His flesh before He casually shrugs it back up as He rises, saying, "Even someone who is not yet one of your friends agrees, My Heart. So tell Me, who is it that has caught your eye?"
  147.
  148. Esei tells you, "Oh, no, I know of just the thing."
  149.
  150. You think to yourself: ** ah - a return to the conversation, and how it came to be .... Friend Aschwar! is .... wanting to -see someone?!- agog! bright splashes of curious pastels **.
  151.
  152. You have emoted: Gurashi turns their attention to Aschwar as Mysrai addresses them, their tail slowing in its wagging, offering the tae'dae a curious smile.
  153.
  154. Aschwar blushes furiously, visible beneath both their black and gold fur as they wave their hands before them and carefully correct, "N-no! I am just speaking badly! I think there is someone who I am catching eyes! Or...is being sotten about me? And I want to be kind, but I am not sure if I am feeling the same way."
  155.
  156. You have emoted: Gurashi's previously curious and excited smile begins to dampen a little, and they tilt their head.
  157.
  158. Starry shadows herald Dusan, the coruscant as he deposits a ceramic bottle decorated with faintly luminescent purple flowers into your hands before dissolving into mist again.
  159.
  160. Esei tells you, "Try -that- tea."
  161.
  162. You have emoted: Gurashi ponderously lifts the notepad, scribbling for a moment before turning it around to those present: 'someone likes you / you do not know if like back?'
  163.
  164. Esei tells you, "Are.... you visiting Aschwar?"
  165.
  166. You have emoted: Gurashi looks up hopefully at Mysrai before looking at Aschwar, then back between the two again.
  167.
  168. A look of comprehension flashes across Mysrai's face as He listens, and He places His hands on His hips, leaning backwards in thought to reveal more of His chiseled abdomen. His eyes flick towards the notepad, and He nods once at you, standing straight once more as He considers. "Why do you not know, I suppose is the important question here, My Heart."
  169.
  170. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** negation - er, affirmation! er - was not visiting - happened upon, while doing thinking about ... **."
  171.
  172. As they carefully press their claws together, looking to the side as they speak, Aschwar says, "W-well, he is a very nice person, but I have only met him a few times. Plus, I think I am liking another person much better, even if I have not seen him in a while."
  173.
  174. You think to yourself: .... ** a blurry imagining of a cocoon - a sharp sense of dread, quickly washed down and replaced with neutrality in muted pastels - keep it together **.
  175.
  176. Esei tells you, "Mm... I was considering giving them a gift, you see."
  177.
  178. Esei tells you, "But I am not certain of what they enjoy... do you know?"
  179.
  180. Hastily, Aschwar exclaims, "M-mister Binky is very nice! I am just not sure I like him as much as he likes me! I hear he has kept every single gift I have ever given him, and I do not even remember all the gifts he has given me!"
  181.
  182. You think to yourself: ** a blanketed attempt, laying over dread, guilt - remembering Olethea - sweet, kindly - liked, but had to break HER heart ... it is not a good feeling to be liked and not feel the same ...**.
  183.
  184. You have emoted: Gurashi's gray-blue eyes scan Aschwar's face as the tae'dae speaks, furrowing their brow. They write suddenly: 'being apart makes heart grow fondly - or something.'
  185.
  186. You wrinkle your nose in distaste.
  187.
  188. Reko smirks.
  189.
  190. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** slow affirmation - mild distraction, silvery anticipation - listening **."
  191.
  192. Mysrai nods His head slowly in understanding, reaching up to run a hand through His hair as He thinks. The coppery sparks that release sizzle through the air, raining perfect lighting down upon Him as He considers the situation.
  193.
  194. Esei tells you, "Perhaps the vanilla blackthorn tea?"
  195.
  196. You have emoted: Gurashi lowers the notepad once again, looking at Mysrai, watching Their hand and the sudden glittery sparks that appears from the simple motion.
  197.
  198. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "... Seriously, are you ok?"
  199.
  200. Your melodic voice sings into Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh's mind, "... **surprise! distraction! affirmation! magenta and gold! yes! good! all good! **."
  201.
  202. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** distracted affirmation - coppery sparks - something sweet, not red **."
  203.
  204. Esei tells you, "Not red, no."
  205.
  206. When Mysrai speaks, His voice is gentle and kind, looking up towards Aschwar with a soft smile that causes your heart to skip a beat. "The heart aches and grows confused in isolation, My sweet. You could find yourself enjoying this...Binky fellow quite well in his company, and you could grow to be very fond of him. But if your heart belongs to another, there is no shame in allowing this Binky the comfort of your presence and affection whilst you wait for your desired one's affections to be returned."
  207.
  208. Esei tells you, "Just... vanilla. And blackthorn flowers. And black tea, obviously."
  209.
  210. Reko grins mischievously at Mysrai.
  211.
  212. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** gentle affirmation **."
  213.
  214. Esei tells you, "...and you're sure you're alright?"
  215.
  216. Esei tells you, "Nothing needs stabbing?"
  217.
  218. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** sharp, more insistent affirmation! **."
  219.
  220. You have emoted: Gurashi looks again at Mysrai, their short tail wagging slowly as they cant their head to the side.
  221.
  222. You think to yourself: ** ... allowing someone comfort of presence ... while waiting for desired... ? **.
  223.
  224. Aschwar's face follows closely with the instruction as it is given, falling and then quickly rising again in quick accord. "R-really?"
  225.
  226. You have emoted: Gurashi glances down towards their hoofed feet, deep in thought.
  227.
  228. Esei tells you, "Alright."
  229.
  230. Your melodic voice sings into Wyrden Auspice Esei Shee-Slaugh of the Ascending Dusk's mind, "** a bottle of blackthorn and vanilla tea - a suitable gift for them, think, yes **."
  231.
  232. You think to yourself: ** curious muted pastels - who it is, that they like...? **.
  233.
  234. You tilt your head curiously at Aschwar.
  235.
  236. Nodding His head simply, Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan says, "Really really. But do not allow this to remain a secret, for that is to mask your Will, and to diminish Love. Should you be asked to give your heart to one that you do not wish to hold it forever, then you must ensure they know it will only be for as long as you remain happy."
  237.
  238. Esei tells you, "...there are salesmen here...???" <-- Missed that!! lmfao
  239.
  240. You glance askance.
  241.
  242. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says to you, "You seem troubled."
  243.
  244. Aschwar's shoulders sag and they look relieved, nearly ecstatic as they smile. "It will be very nice, I think, to be able to be so close with someone. Plus, that means when I find Friend Akuuko, I will have lots of practise!"
  245.
  246. You have emoted: Gurashi slowly lifts their head to look at Aschwar at this, tilting it to the side.
  247.
  248. You think to yourself: .... ** practice? **.
  249.
  250. A bright smile touches Mysrai's face as He reaches out and claps Aschwar on the arm approvingly. "That's the spirit, My love. I'm sure when you find him, he will be overjoyed to see you." He turns away, His face impossible to read as He looks towards the distance. "Oh, that reminds me. We must work on your grounding today, if we are to try and fix your block, My Heart. Shall we head towards the summit?"
  251.
  252. You think to yourself: .... ** faded shades of apricot - practice **.
  253.
  254. You stare blankly at Aschwar.
  255.
  256. You have emoted: Gurashi suddenly and clumsily writes: 'you have feelings for Friend Akuuko??'
  257.
  258. You think to yourself: ** deepening shades of magenta, amber .... confused, am confused - surely **.
  259.
  260. Aschwar's eyes glow with delight as they nod their head eagerly, clapping their hands. "Yes! Please!" They look towards you and quietly add, "The Shofets is trying to help me learn how to be good and know all the things for when I am all better, so I do not hurt people with my brain stu--" They pause, and look down at the notepad.
  261.
  262. Aschwar says, "Uh...Shofets?"
  263.
  264. You have emoted: Gurashi looks down at the notepad, then over at Mysrai, confused.
  265.
  266. Mysrai's head turns to the side, and quickly scans the notepad. His voice is oddly free of emotion, echoing around you as He simply responds, "Yes. They do."
  267.
  268. You think to yourself: ..... ** not a single room for thought - only blinding, white light ** ...
  269.
  270. You have emoted: With a set jaw, Gurashi nods, just once, eyes wide and lips parted.
  271.
  272. You feel a deep sense of dread in your stomach as the Courtesan's gaze lingers on you, and you know in an instant that He is full aware of Akuuko's mysterious absence. How much more could He know?
  273.
  274. You feel weak in the knees as Mysrai laughs lightly, raising a hand to His hair and raking His fingers through. The motion releases flecks of coppery energy that shine and rain down about His face, only serving to further frame His attractive features.
  275.
  276. Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan says, "Well then, we're burning light, My Heart. Let's go work on your meditations."
  277.
  278. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "If I may just say before You leave."
  279.
  280. Aschwar nods eagerly waving towards you and saying, "Yes! Please! Good-bye, Friend Gurashi! Good-bye, new person!"
  281.
  282. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "Thank you, for allowing me to listen and learn from Your wisdom."
  283.
  284. Reko flashes Aschwar a joyous smile.
  285.
  286. You have emoted: Gurashi manages to lift a hand, offering a tiny wave.
  287.
  288. Reko bows respectfully to Mysrai.
  289.
  290. Mysrai, the Scarlet Courtesan says to Reko, "To choose to sit and listen is a wise choice in and of itself, small one."
  291.
  292. You think to yourself: ** continued, hot, sad, blinding white **.
  293.
  294. Reko nods his head at Mysrai.
  295.
  296. Reko smiles softly.
  297.
  298. A flurry of poppy blossoms springs up from around the Scarlet Courtesan, shredding apart and filling your vision as He disappears with Aschwar in tow. When the last of the blossoms falls to the ground, they are gone, leaving only the faint scent of honey and the last dregs of comfortable heat in their wake.
  299.
  300. Reko's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
  301.
  302. Revelrous Reko m'Viraz says, "You okay there, sable hooved one?"
  303.
  304. You have emoted: Gurashi doesn't move, watching the flurry of poppy blossoms flutter to the ground in Mysrai's absence. Only when Reko speaks do they look up, exhaling sharply.
  305.
  306. You have emoted: With what appears to be significant effort, Gurashi finally lifts the notepad, writing: 'gotta go - nice to meet you.' They look at Reko, as if in a daze, bowing their head politely.
  307.
  308. <-- run run
  309.
  310. You think to yourself: ** silvery anticipation, deep shades of mauve... feeling -sick- **.
  311.
  312. You think to yourself: ** bad - bad **.
  313.
  314. You think to yourself: ** not just bad - the worst **.
  315.
  316. A narrow, claustrophobic cave.
  317. Throughout the location, small dancing flames flicker and spark. Little more than a hollow in the side of the mountains, the interior of this cave is swept with eddying trails of sand from the without. The walls are crude and unmarked by any hand: the ceiling dips low, toothlike protrusions sending flickering shadows over the cavern floor and walls. The air is stale, still, and unmoving; only the murmuring of the desert wind beyond the cavern suggests at the existence of life. Oilslick patterns ripple across the silken folds of this veil as it flutters between two paradigms. A slender leothin sits here motionless, brightening its surroundings with its natural golden bio-luminescence.
  318. You see exits leading out and through a fluttering veil.
  319.
  320. You have emoted: Gurashi passes through the veil, then immediately settles on the other side, sinking to huddle in their spot, their starry eyes wide and glossy with tears.
  321.
  322. You think to yourself: ** friend Aschwar - friend Akuuko -- **.
  323.
  324. You think to yourself: ** what have I done what have I done I ... **.
  325.
  326. You think to yourself: .... ** have to get him back? i have to get him back **.
  327.
  328. You have emoted: Gurashi reaches up, gently cupping either side of their face, unable to mask their horrified expression.
  329.
  330. You think to yourself: ** frantic pinging thoughts, ugly kaleidoscope swirls of color - no - it is too late? i should have asked the Shofets in the very beginning - i should have done -anything- different **.
  331.
  332. A moment of peace, of calm, amidst the storm as the echoes of an ancient seed can be felt in your mind. What is there that cannot be forgiven?
  333.
  334. You think to yourself: ** continued ugly swirls of color, chaos, confusion, guilt, guiltier guilt - then - gray - familiar, calm, mute gray... **.
  335.
  336. You think to yourself: .... ** how many lies ... wasted ** ...
  337.
  338. "You think yourself...so unforgivable...you do not see...I have already...forgiven you..."
  339.
  340. You have emoted: Gurashi shakes their head, the tears now spilling over their cheeks as they cup their hands over their face.
  341.
  342. You think to yourself: ** ruddier gray - only wanted them to be -happy- - what is the rightest thing ... **.
  343.
  344. You think to yourself: ** shades of crimson, mauve - guilt - wanted ME to be happy -too- and -now- ...**.
  345.
  346. You think to yourself: ** was it .... horror - was being -selfish- ? **.
  347.
  348. Guilt swirls hot in your stomach as you feel a lute being strummed beneath your fingertips. You see Akuuko sitting on the windowsill, watching with hooded eyes that are worried and anxious, and feel Aschwar shift behind you, fitfully turning in a tormented sleep.
  349.
  350. You stare ahead, looking utterly wounded.
  351.
  352. You think to yourself: ** how could not have ... noticed **.
  353.
  354. If you had been faster. Better. Found some way to help them. Would Akuuko ever have been wounded? Would he have had to suffer, and could this entire train of events been avoided?
  355.
  356. You have emoted: Gurashi folds their arms slowly against the back of their neck, curling up tighter in their spot until their forehead finds their knees. They sit, trembling, tears spilling down their cheeks.
  357.
  358. In the height of your grief, you suddenly feel a thrum of power...
  359.
  360. You think to yourself: ... ** a bitter sense of hopelessness - what am supposed to -do-... what is the rightest thing ** .....
  361.
  362. [REDACTED]
  363.
  364. "There will always be too much. You hear, and see, and taste, far more than others, My Heart. Such is the power of your gift. It is a gift similar to My own powers, though far less in extremity."
  365.
  366. You sniffle softly.
  367.
  368. "Parties were very hard," you feel your lips desire to move as you want to echo along with Aschwar's own. "Everyone was having very many thoughts, and feelings, and it was like standing in a storm."
  369.
  370. You have emoted: Gurashi's teary eyes blink back tears once, twice. With trembling hands they wipe their face, lifting their head, listening.
  371.
  372. You think to yourself: ** ah - familiarity, in the silence - brighter pastels, warm washes of gold - Aschwar ... **.
  373.
  374. "This is the danger of Chaos, My Heart. You must know yourself, so that way you cannot be washed away in the tides. You must be able to centre yourself, and ground yourself in a simple, undeniable Truth. The Truth of Yourself."
  375.
  376. "...I love You! That is a good truth!" There is a wide smile that should be on your face as you stare across at the Courtesan, so different from the Shofet you first met, but somehow the same. He smiles, and you feel your face flush slightly. He is very pretty. "But I also think...that there is much that could be my Truth. How do I know what to pick?"
  377.
  378. You have emoted: Gurashi's hands fall from their neck, folding together tightly, fingers curling near their throat. Their tears slowly stop as their lips continue to move, both speaking, and listening.
  379.
  380. "It will be what brings you comfort. What you may find even in the darkest of times, and build yourself around."
  381.
  382. You think to yourself: .... ** Truth of Yourself ** ....
  383.
  384. You think to yourself: ** a faded recollection, growing brighter, clearer - tears streaming down your face, broken-hearted - the Shofets, standing before you in the Fulcrux, lifting Their gaze just before They vanish: "Find your Truth." **.
  385.
  386. [REDACTED]
  387.
  388. "I am kind." The words finally leave Aschwar's lips, "I have many friends. People like me, and they all think that I am good. So I must be!" They pause for a moment and a terrible feeling of guilt washes over you as you picture furniture flung at ridiculously high speeds, and the Jackal's Staff piercing the flesh of those who you were angry with. "...even if I have done very unkind things, that is not who I want to be. And it is not who I choose to be."
  389.
  390. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, ".... So...."
  391.
  392. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "Why is Lady Viravain mad at you?"
  393.
  394. You have emoted: Gurashi's gaze softens, and they let out a little hiccup, wiping again at their face.
  395. You have recovered balance on all limbs.
  396.
  397. A warm wash of heat. Of approval. Of affirmation. "Correct. You are who you choose to be before you are who you fear you may become. It is this act of choice that defines us, My Heart, and it is the secret of Truth..."
  398.
  399. [REDACTED]
  400.
  401. You think to yourself: ... ** soft, reassuring, as if hoping to somehow reach out, reassure - is O-K to get mad. sometimes these things -happen- and it is a mistake - are allowed to feel things... ah - the stabbing ... the guilt - the zap, rending poor Akuuko - oh, but the Shofets ... if They knew then why would They ... **.
  402.
  403. The thrum fades, all of Aschwar's focus turned towards the task at hand.
  404.
  405. You think to yourself: ... ** the act of choice ** ....
  406.
  407. You glance askance.
  408.
  409. You have emoted: Gurashi's hands curl into tight fists against their throat as they set their gaze to the ground before them, furrowing their brow.
  410.
  411. Your melodic voice sings into Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh's mind, "..... ** suddenly - a blurry imagining of the cocoon - urgency - need to see now - please **."
  412.
  413. You think to yourself: ** wave after wave of guilt - so far have done so much bad - have to fix, yes? must fix it, somehow **.
  414.
  415. You think to yourself: ** not too late to fix it, yet, right **.
  416.
  417. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "I *can't*."
  418.
  419. You have emoted: Shakily, Gurashi rises to their feet, again wiping their eyes and moving to leave the claustrophobic closing, breathing heavy.
  420.
  421. <-- run run run
  422.
  423. Promenade of roses.
  424. The shadowy outline of a twisted forest casts a dark gloom here. Small paths of loose onyx stone wind throughout the area, forming symmetrical loops. Lining each pathway are well-trimmed rosebushes, an abundance of dark, red roses, bloom year-round upon each. In the centre, where each looping pathway both begins and ends, resides a large fountain. The pool at the base of the fountain is wide, a broad flat-topped boulder rising from its depths. Across its surface is an intricate forest of trees crafted from dark marble, each sculpted in exquisite detail. In the centre stands a statue of Lady Viravain, Her gaze turned down towards the forest and Her hand outstretched. A small stream of water pours from Her palm, this source of life raining down upon the trees.
  425. You see exits leading out and through a clear pool.
  426.
  427. You close your eyes and inhale deeply, absorbing the scent of your surroundings.
  428.
  429. You think to yourself: ** apricot - akuuko **.
  430.
  431. Letting yourself fall, you drop into the pool but instead of the expected splash, you find yourself somewhere else.
  432.
  433. Courtyard before a vine-covered temple.
  434. The shadowy outline of a twisted forest casts a dark gloom here. The area opens into a spacious courtyard, offering views of the twisting vines that grapple up along the smooth temple walls. Symmetrical plantings and raised stone beds define the space, the dark, glossy leaves of various flora straining against their rigid containers. Pathways of glistening onyx run between the beds, delineated by perfectly manicured hedges, which further distinguish this formal space from the rest of the gardens. Heavy benches of iron spaced equidistantly allow for quiet conversation or solitary reflection. A glimmering web of iridescent hues stretches along the temple wall here. A black direwolf is here blending in with the shadows, its massive ebon wings folded at rest.
  435. You see exits leading southeast and southwest.
  436.
  437. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "Gurashi, I can't go against the things She told me to do, *especially* if She's mad at you."
  438.
  439. Your melodic voice sings into Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh's mind, "** urgent - it is not O-K - they must go home, now **."
  440.
  441. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "... I see."
  442.
  443. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "That's why She's mad."
  444.
  445. You reach out and touch a shimmering web.
  446. The spiders emerge from their web, briefly glance upon the mortal that would call them forth and retreat once again in silent denial of entry.
  447.
  448. You have emoted: Gurashi pulls their hand away from the web, glancing up at the spiders with narrowed eyes.
  449.
  450. You think to yourself: ** desperate - cannot just -wait- because -waiting- is an -action- but it was the -wrong- action...! **.
  451.
  452. Your melodic voice sings into Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh's mind, "** negation - is mad because of me - need to see **."
  453.
  454. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "Oh, no, I know it's because of you. I've been confused as to... why She gave us this task. At first, I thought it was because She wanted to bring your love home, so you could be together - but you aren't lovers. So I thought She must be mad, if he isn't a present...."
  455.
  456. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "I couldn't figure out what you've done that would anger Her."
  457.
  458. You have emoted: Gurashi touches the stone wall where they previously knocked their knuckles bloody, then takes a step back, wrinkling their nose.
  459.
  460. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "But I understand now."
  461.
  462. Your melodic voice sings into Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh's mind, "** gray-blue confusion - you can sense them growing increasingly desperate **."
  463.
  464. You have emoted: Gurashi begins to pace outside the web, glancing down towards their feet.
  465.
  466. The melodious voice of Aleyah resonates in your mind, "I'm sorry, but no."
  467.
  468. You think to yourself: ** a swirl of fire, the familiar, hypnotic gaze of a Nagasith, as if looking right at them - "What will you do?" **.
  469.
  470. You close your eyes and inhale deeply, absorbing the scent of your surroundings.
  471.
  472. Aleyah is not accepting tells right now.
  473. A monolith sigil prevents you from teleporting.
  474.
  475. You narrow your eyes to thin slits.
  476.
  477. You have emoted: Gurashi looks about the courtyard, turning their gaze upward. Have spent so much time staring at the web - is some other way? They reach out, grabbing one of the dangling vines, testing it for its strength.
  478.
  479. Bizirik, the leothin lets out a soft whine, tilting their head as they watch you, tail slapping the ground.
  480.
  481. You have emoted: Gurashi manages to pull themselves a whole half-inch before the vine snaps and they return to the ground with a huff, hooves clopping on the stone. The grimace, expression contorting.
  482.
  483. You have emoted: Gurashi opens their mouth wide, letting out a breathy sigh that refuses to carry any sound with it. But they try to speak, to yell, -anything-, gritting their teeth in frustration and heaving for air.
  484.
  485. You think to yourself: ** desperate flickers and flashes of color, musing - if she will not let me IN then how can bring to -me-? can do? **.
  486.
  487. Bizirik, the leothin snuffles and steps closer to you, letting out another soft whine. When the sileni doesn't respond, it nudges the smaller being's hand until finally Gurashi acknowledges it.
  488.
  489. Bizirik, the leothin snorts, sitting.
  490.
  491. You think to yourself: ** sparks of neon color - is what must be like for a caged animal to go mad, to want to gnaw own flesh - helpless and angry - tears aren't enough, trying isn't -enough--- **.
  492.
  493. You have emoted: Gurashi stops their anxious pacing as Bizirik nudges them, looking down at the leothin with a start.
  494.
  495. You think to yourself: ** imagining climbing onto the leothin's back, perhaps riding over the temple, dropping in - yes, would work? **.
  496.
  497. Bizirik, the leothin snorts again, tossing its head and gazing blankly up at Gurashi. Its tail slaps the ground again.
  498.
  499. You have emoted: Gurashi looks back up at the Temple...
  500.
  501. You think to yourself: ** do not know what to do **.
  502.
  503. You think to yourself: .... ** softer - grayer - do not know what to do **.
  504.
  505. You think to yourself: ... ** a weighted sense of isolation ** ...
  506.
  507. You have emoted: Gurashi squeezes their hands together before their chest again, nudged lightly by Bizirik's narrow head. They take a step, and then another, approaching a shimmering web one final time, resting their right hand on the stone.
  508.
  509. "...find your centre, and rebuild yourself around this..."
  510.
  511. You have emoted: Gurashi stands in a chilled silence, hand still resting feather light against the stone wall, eyes red and puffy with tears.
  512.
  513. You think to yourself: ** all could have been prevented ... if had just been honest - from the beginning **.
  514.
  515. You think to yourself: ** imagining each step leading up to this point - what could have done different? to keep it from getting so bad **.
  516.
  517. You think to yourself: ** is no conceivable way to rescue Akuuko like this - not guarded, not inside another Divine's temple .. **.
  518.
  519. You think to yourself: ... ** not without asking for help - but ** ....
  520.
  521. Voice rasping with effort, barely audible, you whisper, "...m sor ... am s ......"
  522.
  523. You think to yourself: Sorry.
  524.
  525. You have emoted: Gurashi's forehead touches the outer stone wall of the temple lightly, pale and exhausted.
  526.
  527. Louder but still terribly broken, tears again spilling over their cheeks, you whisper, "... ..of...ets.."
  528.
  529. You think to yourself: How do rebuild from this.
  530.
  531. Aleyah is deposited within the room looking bewildered and covered in stray bits of webbing as the spiders retreat once again into their web.
  532.
  533. Aleyah frowns at you.
  534.
  535. A sudden flurry of dusky color accompanies Aleyah as she takes to the air, flying over to you and alighting delicately on your shoulder.
  536.
  537. Aleyah stands atop your head, heels together.
  538.
  539. You have emoted: Gurashi doesn't respond to Aleyah's arrival, their gaze fragile as they stare at the stone wall they lean their forehead against the porous surface.
  540.
  541. Bizirik, the leothin snorts, looking up at Aleyah, tail slapping the ground twice.
  542.
  543. Aleyah smiles warmly at Bizirik, the leothin, leaning to itch the top of her head affectionately.
  544.
  545. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "You've done -nothing- wrong, Bizi."
  546.
  547. Bizirik, the leothin snorts, then snorts again, tail slapping the ground twice more before it looks up at Gurashi, licking its lips.
  548.
  549. Bizirik, the leothin snorts and shakes their head, looking from the faeling back to its sileni companion, rising to its feet. It bows almost playfully, tossing its head a few times before laying down and looking at a shimmering web curiously.
  550.
  551. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "..He wants in, huh."
  552.
  553. You wrinkle your nose and sniff.
  554.
  555. You have emoted: Gurashi finally lifts their head, aware of the presence upon the crown of their skull.
  556.
  557. Aleyah takes a seat between your horns.
  558.
  559. You have emoted: Gurashi lets out a breathy little noise, their mouth twisting as they try again to speak, eyes filling again with tears. They look up, unable to see Aleyah, but knowing she is there. ".... rry... ".
  560.
  561. Aleyah smiles softly.
  562.
  563. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...I know this is hard."
  564.
  565. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "And I know you're upset."
  566.
  567. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "But as much as I love you, Gurashi, I cannot break an oath for you."
  568.
  569. You have emoted: Gurashi sniffles again, still leaning against the wall. After a time, they pull out their notepad, lifting their quill.
  570.
  571. You have emoted: 'they love akuuko and i did not know.' Gurashi holds the quill to the page, letting the ink spot at the end of the w slowly grow as they read their words.
  572.
  573. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...They?"
  574.
  575. You have emoted: Gurashi again writes: 'aschwar'.
  576.
  577. A look of understanding crossing her features, Aleyah nods her head slowly.
  578.
  579. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "That's Neither Lord-Nor-Lady's Priest?"
  580.
  581. You have emoted: Gurashi nods sadly, lowering the pad, before adding: 'REALLY like.'
  582.
  583. Aleyah nods her head emphatically.
  584.
  585. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "Romance?"
  586.
  587. You glance askance.
  588.
  589. Aleyah purses her lips, deep in thought.
  590.
  591. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...Breaking a cocoon open will kill him, if it's early."
  592.
  593. You have emoted: Gurashi bites their lower lip.... Finally, they begin to scribble again, shoulders bunching lightly before they hold up the notepad: 'are still figuring things out - only just realizing...'
  594.
  595. Aleyah nods her head emphatically.
  596.
  597. You have emoted: Gurashi's teeth sink tighter into their lip.
  598.
  599. Aleyah pets you ingratiatingly.
  600.
  601. You have emoted: Gurashi writes quick and concise: 'i am a bad friend.'
  602.
  603. Aleyah blinks.
  604.
  605. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh looks confused and says, "...how are you a bad friend?"
  606.
  607. You have emoted: 'aschwar has been looking for akuuko.' Gurashi stares at the page for a moment. 'have been lying to them. and i am their best friend.'
  608.
  609. A look of understanding crossing her features, Aleyah nods her head slowly.
  610.
  611. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...Why does lying make you a bad friend?"
  612.
  613. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh asks, "You were doing that to try and save them, right?"
  614.
  615. You have emoted: Gurashi's jaw sets as they look up at Aleyah, tail wagging anxiously.
  616.
  617. Snapdragon Aruokei shouts, "Basala'oren Seren!"
  618.
  619. You narrow your eyes to thin slits.
  620.
  621. Aleyah peers about herself unscrupulously.
  622.
  623. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "Why can I hear that in here?"
  624.
  625. You have emoted: Gurashi momentarily looks aside, then returns to their notepad, sniffling as a single tear slips down their cheek. 'planes are weird.' They reach up, wiping their face with the back of their hand.
  626.
  627. Aleyah nods her head emphatically.
  628.
  629. Aleyah pats you in a friendly manner.
  630.
  631. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "You didn't lie with the intent to hurt them, right?"
  632.
  633. You have emoted: Gurashi exhales suddenly, releasing their lip, a thin, purple line left where their sharp teeth were tightly pressed. They mouth the word 'no', looking up, earnest.
  634.
  635. Kindly, Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "Then you're not a bad friend. You didn't ask for this to turn out like this."
  636.
  637. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "It's not like you knew this would happen, or planned it. You were just trying to stop people from being in pain."
  638.
  639. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "Which is a different problem altogether."
  640.
  641. Aleyah nods her head at herself.
  642.
  643. Aleyah purses her lips, deep in thought.
  644.
  645. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "And not one I can blame you for, nobody -likes- pain."
  646.
  647. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "People do a whole bunch of things to try to avoid it."
  648.
  649. You have emoted: 'do not want to lie anymore,' Gurashi's frantic quill glides across the page, nearly illegible. 'should just make it to go back to normal - would rather be unhappy than make other peoples unhappy.' They shake their head, writing so fast they almost tear the page. 'this is going to hurt worse.'
  650.
  651. You huff, puffing your cheeks.
  652.
  653. You have emoted: Gurashi's short tail wags, and they look at a shimmering web.
  654.
  655. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh asks, "...Why do you need him awake to be honest?"
  656.
  657. You have emoted: Gurashi doesn't answer this, again leaning against the stone wall of the temple, their eyes half-closing as they catch their breath.
  658.
  659. You sniffle softly.
  660.
  661. Aleyah purses her lips, deep in thought.
  662.
  663. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "Do you want to show Aschwar that he's okay as like... an apology?"
  664.
  665. You have emoted: Swaying in their spot, Gurashi writes: 'want them to have each other again.' The take a deep breath, adding: 'missing someones feels like acid.' They underline this point.
  666.
  667. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh asks, "...Speaking from experience?"
  668.
  669. You have emoted: Gurashi's head bows, chin pressing to their chest. Had they any tears left, you suspect they would be shedding more given the miserable expression on their face.
  670.
  671. Aleyah nods her head emphatically.
  672.
  673. You think to yourself: ** bleak gray - numbness **.
  674.
  675. Repeating herself, Aleyah pets your hair as she says, "Breaking the cocoon open early would probably kill Akuuko: it kills moths and butterflies, and they're not as complicated as people. As much as you want to bring him back, the only thing to do right now is wait, that's the only way to guarantee he gets out of there alive."
  676.
  677. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "I know that 'wait' is not what you want to do."
  678.
  679. You have emoted: Gurashi writes: 'what if akuuko wakes up different and breaks their heart - they miss aschwar, too.' A sniffle.
  680.
  681. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh asks, "Maybe he will. He probably will, because people change all the time - even without cocoons. We're always different than we were yesterday, that's never going to stop. But isn't different better than dead?"
  682.
  683. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "And even if he is different, and it stings to see him... that doesn't mean they can't reconcile. That doesn't mean it's over."
  684.
  685. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "But if he died... that's it."
  686.
  687. You have emoted: Gurashi watches a shimmering web with tired, half-lidded eyes, still swaying where they stand, their quill gripped tightly.
  688.
  689. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "I mean, I guess if he died, telling Aschwar that you couldn't bring him home would be honest. You wouldn't be a liar anymore."
  690.
  691. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...But I don't think that's how you want to be honest."
  692.
  693. You have emoted: Gurashi looks up sharply at the comment, their expression twisting from grief, to confusion, to anger, as if the very proposition were utterly outrageous. But they still themselves, again squeezing their quill and notepad.
  694.
  695. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "That's not a suggestion: just perspective."
  696.
  697. You have emoted: Gurashi withers a bit where they stand, as if their very essence flees their form.
  698.
  699. Aleyah pets you ingratiatingly.
  700.
  701. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...Like I said. I know waiting isn't fun, but at least I can promise he's safe. And alive."
  702.
  703. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "And maybe he wakes up different, but he'll wake up."
  704.
  705. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "I'm not sure what happens after that, but it's better than it not happening at all."
  706.
  707. Lady Aleyah Shee-Slaugh says, "...And honestly, like, I hope it's soon. He's not very good conversation right now."
  708.
  709. You think to yourself: .... ** lonelier still, heavier even - dearest cousin is here, but may as well be at the bottom of the Inner Sea **.
  710.
  711. You have emoted: Gurashi doesn't respond to Aleyah's comment. They gaze at a shimmering web a while longer, then turn away, looking down the path that brought them here.
  712.
  713. Taking to the air with a few dedicated flaps of her wings, Aleyah flutters close to you and leaves an affectionate kiss upon your brow.
  714.
  715. Aleyah reaches out and touches a shimmering web as hundreds of tiny spiders draw her into the spider's lair.
