I would be grateful if this 58 year old lady could be seen in your clinic. She has recently visited this practice complaining of lower back pain, which she has experienced for many years, that has become progressively worse. She has been seen at this practice a number of times but we are unable to find a cause for her back pain, and she feels that her management plan is not working.
She weighs 75kg and is 1.6m tall. She occasionally goes out with her family at weekends, but other than that she rarely leaves the house or engages in physical activity. She eats a vegetarian diet, including milk.
She is currently taking Paracetamol 500mg, as required, to manage her pain, but she reports this is becoming less effective. She has no known allergies.
Her back pain is usually worsened by stress, and recently there has been extra conflict within the home, which she shares with her son and his family. The increased pain is causing her to stay in bed until lunch time. She usually cooks most of the meals for the family, and the pain is preventing her from cooking breakfast. She hopes for a management plan that enables her to fulfil her duties within the home.
It would be very appreciated if you could see her and provide further information.
