1. He's a freshman, he's fourteen, his voice is still cracking, but Frank Jaeger is a senior, seventeen going on eightteen, and neither of them see anything wrong with that. He and Dave are fighting, their knuckles are bleeding, there's blood on their teeth, and Frank's nose is bleeding. They're each sporting a black eye apiece, half of Dave's face is bruising up, and he's sure they both got a dozen more bruises forming under their clothes. It's raw and wild and exhilarating, he feels alive and so does Frank, and sometimes Frank grabs him to kiss him and bite him. One of them tackles the other, doesn't matter which, and when they fall to the ground, they roll and punch and knee and grind against each other, nails scratching at exposed skin, biting, hitting.
2.
3. Dave's losing, running out of steam; Frank always just keeps going, he never runs out of energy, he always wants to hurt more and especially be hurt more, but Dave can't always keep going. But it's okay, because he tries, and Frank says he's so good at it; no one hits him like Dave does, he says, no one gets him excited and alive like Dave does, he says. Dave's slowing down, Frank's hitting him more and Dave's hitting back less, but it's nothing new, it usually ends this way, Frank's always stronger and faster. David's mostly just trying to beat his best times against him, like a game. And he lasted so long this time, they're both out of breath but Frank is panting and wild eyed and he kisses Dave more and more and hits him less and less.
4.
5. Dave loves every second of it, craves how their mouths crash together, craves Frank biting open his lips, the way Frank grabs at him and touches him. He's manhandled onto a dusty picnic table covered in dead leaves and cobwebs, face down against the rotted wood, pinned and Frank keeps biting and kissing and saying how much he loves the way Dave hurts him, so good, Dave's body is so good, he wants to have him, he wants their bodies together, Dave is amazing, and every word fills David with pride. And then it abruptly occurs to him that his pants are being wrestled open, yanked down around his thighs, and he's already hard and he knows Frank is too, he felt it earlier on the ground.
6.
7. It hits Dave what's happening, and his heart beats so fast and his mind races and he doesn't know what to do, his mind is suddenly blank- but he adores Frank, wants anything Frank wants, wants to be with him, wants to be strong. David relishes in the contact of their skin, and the way Frank yanks down the collar of his shirt to bite at his spine and constrict his throat under the cloth, and Dave bites his bleeding lip and doesn't complain or argue even when it hurts and he bleeds. He's not sure if Frank would slow down if he asked, but he doesn't dare to ask anyways, he wants Frank to be open with him and raw with him, they can be honest and open and raw and real and free with each other, and no one else.
8.
9. And it's over as fast as it had started and David feels like he can't breathe, he's dizzy and confused and it's already over? That's it? He thought it would be something different- not sure what or how or why. But different. And he feels so lost suddenly. But frank clutches Dave to his chest, turns them around, leans against the table with Dave supported against him, squeezing him, muttering possessive things that tingle down Dave's spine into his ear, and kissing his hair, teeth scraping against his scalp, and David feels okay. It doesn't last long, though, and a minute later, Frank is standing alone, doing up his pants, and Dave's sitting alone, on the table, dick half hard and he feels slimy and sore, and he's pretty sure hes leaking onto the table but he doesn't want to think about that.
10.
11. He's strong, though. He can handle it. That's why frank likes him. Loves him, maybe. That thought makes David feel brave, and strong like Frank says he is, and he gets to his feet eventually, Frank staring him down with those intense eyes as David flinches on his feet, and struggles to get his pants done up. Frank says they could just stay out here, stare at the sky and talk about what's important. They don't have to go home, either of them, he says. No one owns them- they can do whatever they want. David knows his mother is going to be worried sick if hes not home by dinner, though.

13.
14. He stays out with Frank until after midnight, laying in the grass, heads beside the other, staring up at the sky, dark clouds and bright stars, Frank saying he wants to be alone so badly, wants to get away from everything and everyone, except David. He says he just wants to go and go and go and go, to be free, and with David. Dave is still sore, but he doesn't think about it, or that weird dizzy feeling in his head, or the uneasy, lost feeling in his gut. The soreness is a dull ache, and he tells Frank that he just wants to be whoever he wants to be. He turns his head to bump his forehead against Frank's. Frank reaches up a hand to cup David's bruised up face, tells him that whoever David is, is amazing. Strong and solid. David tries to kiss his cheek, but Frank turns his face away.
15.
16. Dave gets up to go home a while after that. His phone's been buzzing constantly for hours, but he's been ignoring it. He's still sore and walking is a bitch, but he can't stay any longer, even if Frank says that 'can't' is bullshit, and Dave can just do whatever he wants. But Dave doesn't want to make his mom worry. Frank just stares silently. He doesn't walk David home, or even out of the park, staying right where he was as David leaves. David doesn't think as he walks, and goes straight home, where his mother is waiting on the front lawn with tears in her eyes and frets over him all night long. He's grounded for a week. Frank doesn't care, and neither does he. They're free together. Nothing can stop them.
