  1. Maertock Reave says, "No fear."
  2. Lenalla says, "Aye, no fear."
  3. Maertock Reave says, "Not entirely sure what I have no fear about."
  4. Maertock Reave says, "But nonetheless, no fear."
  5. Lenalla says, "Ya know cap, thought that had just become the Company's catchphrase."
  6. Maertock Reave says, "Hmm."
  7. Maertock Reave says, "I mean it does fit..."
  8. Lenalla says, "It does, there be many terrors in this world, but none o' them are feared by us."
  9. Maertock Reave says, "Quite so."
  10. Maertock Reave says, "So many letters to send, so little time."
  11. Lenalla asks, "Who ya sendin letters ta? An' why the time crunch?"
  12. Maertock Reave says, "Oh."
  13. Maertock Reave says, "It's a turn of phrase."
  14. Maertock Reave says, "I suppose in the grander scheme, I'm thirty eight and not getting any younger."
  15. Maertock Reave says, "But also there's several contacts I need to reach out to regardless."
  16. Maertock Reave says, "Greetings and salutations."
  17. Lenalla asks, "Ah guess them land dwellers terms stil...awe me boytoy aint here ta visit?"
  18. Maertock Reave says, "Please. please, take a seat. "
  19. Revna Hartvigsen says, "Aye, the rest of us will' be comin la-.. nevermind"
  20. Maertock would welcome the visitors with his usual amiability, the Captain of the Deep Company clicking his rows of serrated teeth together with ambient cheer. Inky shadows as ever trailed around his form in an admiral's cloak, tentacles moving of their own volition back and forth as the reaver lord chuckled lightly.
  21.
  22. "So rare that we get visitors these days, I daresay I'm getting a bit nostalgic. Welcome to Siren Beach my friends and neighbors, what is the occasion?"
  23.
  24. A parrot would steadily fly up to land upon the seven foot siren's shoulder, the Captain crossing his arms before his broad chest as his icy blue eyes flicked across the ensemble with ambient cheer.
  25.
  26. "I don't believe we've been acquainted. I am Captain Maertock Reave of the Deep Company, a pleasure."
  27. (Maertock Reave)
  28. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.
  30. "Not a pleasure."
  31.
  32. Siegmund arrives a little bit after Revna did, his tone showing seriousness and a slight hint of disgust. He took the front of the group, arms crossed as he stared over Maertock.
  33.
  34. "Gigantic Kraken with many weapons attached, fueled by the power of your knowledge of necromancy and Achyon's scientist use of Alpha's brain. Reminds you of anything?"
  35.
  36. He was obviously saying that in order to show Maertock he knew who the man was, his former plans and his former alliance to the Empire colony within Esshar.
  37.
  38. "In all honesty, I hate your kind. I despise the way you deal with things, putting money over everything else. No honor, nothing but a true bunch of pirates that would stab a sick old woman if it meant to get a quarter of a coin in your pocket. Even the youngest of the warriors has a higher sense of honor than you."
  39.
  40. Siegmund spit to the side as he said it. Obviously nota very happy man.
  41.
  42. "However. My hatred for your kind is lower than my hatred for Achyon. Which is why I didn't come here throwing cannon balls."
  43.
  44. He waited. Maertock most likely had something to say.
  45. (Siegmund Rune)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47. "Fine, fine, just a pleasure to me then. It is a handsome company you keep after all."
  48.
  49. Maertock did not appear offended by Siegmund's disgust, merely flashing his rows of serrated teeth in ambient cheer as he dredged one of his clawed hands into the depths of the flowing shadows that manifested his being; withdrawing a bottle of rum he'd swiftly indulge as he chuckled with cheer.
  50.
  51. "How far would you go to bring your brother home, my friend? Because mine had his soul trapped in a mirror for an eternity without a body, and destroying it will only fragment his existence. I do not act without reason; I will not leave him behind."
  52.
  53. The usual charm of the siren was withdrawn in that statement, revealing a tired, yet never unsharp resolve.
  54.
  55. "But no matter how important that project was to me, there's some things I will never give up. Freedom, for one; half the reason my boys started sinking Achyon'speople after all. Plenty of ships to reave in their quarters."
  56.
  57. A soft click of his teeth that, serrated rows gleaming.
  58.
  59. "Do not worry about offending me with honesty. You at least have reasons; the holy knights never had much beyond an attitude. I am a pirate in every sense of the word; ruthless, brutal, cold blooded and never content. But I do have a code, and I have not broken it yet. When I make a deal, I keep it. That's business."
  60.
  61. Maertock would whistle softly at that.
  62.
  63. "Achyon is filled with authoritarian scum that would rob this land of freedom; they sought to make me a subordinate and I made them a mess. So now that we understand each other, what do you suggest we do about the cogs? Because I want to sink the whole city."
  64. (Maertock Reave)
  65. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  66.
  67. If Reave says, "..."
  68. If Reave says, "Oh th'meetin was today huh.."
  69. Revna listened to the two discussing for moments longer, her light-blue eyes glimpsing at Lenalla and Andreas alike as those were the only familiar faces to her up in this beach.
  70.
  71. Her arms raised and crossed over her chest as the golden haired Drakanite remained a few steps behind Siegmund, for now staying put and letting em do as they wished.
  72.
  73. It seemed like the Captain was at least as against Achyon as they happened to be now themselves. But a pirate was a pirate, was there even any proof behind his earlier statement?..
  74. (Revna Hartvigsen)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. So that is why they were not allied anymore. One of Siegmund's questions was answered right off the bat, without the need to even ask it. It honestly made a lot of sense, as the Vanirhallans would do the exact same- Only that they would do so out of honor, and not out of feeling disrespected. Even if both sound similar.
  78.
  79. "I wouldn't bring a warrior back to life. A warrior's soul is to remain free, however. So maybe your actions at least have some justification within it."
  80.
  81. He disagreed to it, but that didn't mean he wasn't able to understand it. If the same were to happen to Bodil, Dreyri, or any of the other Vanirs? Who knows what he would do?
  82.
  83. "..At least we are on the same page about Achyon."
  84.
  85. Siegmund still had a lot of disgust on his voice. But overall? His hostility was slowly decreasing.
  86.
  87. "I have started talking to a few of the groups within Esshar, for a combined assault on Achyon. They deserve nothing but to be wiped out of this land. All of our differences can be settled after they are gone- And even if they aren't? Killing as many of them as possible would suffice."
  88.
  89. A shrug.
  90.
  91. "D'noxa was talked to. She's willing to do so once her tribe is ready. Duniya is a more delicate matter, but it can be arranged."
  92.
  93. He gestures towards the Pirate.
  94. It was obvious what he wanted.
  95. (Siegmund Rune)
  96. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  97. Maertock appeared practically chipper as a black tentacle stretched forth from his cloak, the Captain of the Deep Company leaning back as a chair was dragged over to him before he took a comfortable seat. It was his thinking chair after all; no good ideas came about without it.
  98.
  99. "Then we understand each other. If Murtock had a warrior's rest, there'd have been no reason to hunt a kraken to give him a body. A body that will offer him a chance to die naturally in the cycle, untrapped by the mirror and free of imprisonment."
  100.
  101. The Captain would drink deeply at that; obviously harrowed from how many of his original crew were dead and gone. He remained, the last of a generation; just a bit more alcoholic than before.
  102.
  103. "We are on the same page about Achyon. My boys have been raidin' them day in and day out since they declared hostilities on me and mine; I reckon there's little and less that could stop a united tide seeking to bring an end to their unnatural ways."
  104.
  105. The cog had no place in a living world of light and dark.
  106.
  107. "And aye, once we're done wiping them off the map, we can go back to hatin' each other like nothin's new. I personally don't dislike you gentleman; your company reminds me of my old crew."
  108.
  109. A soft whistle and drag of his cigar, the shark flashing a serrated grin at that.
  110.
  111. "Now, D'noxa I ain't seen in a long, long time. Since I was young, and the lands were different. But Duniya I happen to have already been workin' with on a new blade. In that regard, I can be of assistance. Assumin' our plan is to ruin Achyon's day."
  112. (Maertock Reave)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. The matters of Maertock's brother were not important to him- Not right now, that is. Siegmund was here almost strictly on business, even if he kept hearing that god damn Fairy' inside his head telling him to do things.
  116.
  117. "Duniya is an over-egoistic ruler that lives on top of a mountain alone, like the Dragons from ancient tales. Mistreated my people more than once already, but... As I said. Differences are to be settled after Achyon is gone."
  118.
  119. He looked towards Revna for a moment, then towards Bodil, Dreyri and Chaska. Only to return his gaze to Maertock.
  120.
  121. "I am not calling for Osrona's help. They are just like Achyon. Both wish to empower humanity, and humanity only. They mire themselves in sedition and stagnancy. Under the guise of righteousness and bright banners."
  122.
  123. The man simply nods to his own words. Thanks to what he experienced a few weeks ago, he was far too aware of what it meant to be both Osronian and Achyonite.
  124.
  125. "The only difference to us, is that one wears black, and the other white. They will come for us all, if we don't do so first."
  126. (Siegmund Rune)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. Bodil Drinks his ale
  130. (Bodil Ulf)
  131. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  132.
  133. If drinks in solidarity with Bodil.
  134. (If Reave)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. Maertock would nod steadily as he clicked his rows of serrated teeth together, finding the Vanirhallan's straight forward manner a breathe of fresh air in comparison to the obnoxious posturing of holy swords and cogs. At the end of the day, sometimes it was the easiest option to just be straight forward.
  138.
  139. "Duniya actually impaled me. Stabbed me right through the chest. Admittedly I did try to rob her, but that was more a test of my own abilities than an actual need for coin. We are rather wealthy in our means after all. Still, you are right; there is much that can be settled once the machine of Achyon is dismantled for good."
  140.
  141. The Captain held no particular fondness for Duniya; she was a means to an end with his blade who happened to have dangerous weapons. If she slipped and fell at the wrong place in the wrong time, well, these things happened didn't they.
  142.
  143. "In that too, we agree. Osrona are just as bad as Achyon, perhaps in ways even worse. It might just be cause I'm old enough to know too much about politics, but the city of stars is not so gleamin' and shiny as they make it out to be."
  144.
  145. A firm drag from his cigar, smoke rising from his dry, reddened gills as he leaned back in his thinking, drinking chair.
  146.
  147. "The noble ranks at the top? The Pelleaux's and the Astors? Racists that began the great war that butchered so many of the north's people. Simply because the Astor dragonslayer thought it was funny to goad their allies to attack, and then execute them without honor in a dark cell. Stealing Orodyn's warrior death."
  148.
  149. Maertock would spit on the ground at that.
  150.
  151. "They were content to work with Achyon when it was in their favor. They're gilded scum; zealots and racists and oligarchs almost one and all. A shame some of their number have good hearts, for within the carapace of gold is a rot of yellow."
  152. (Maertock Reave)
  153. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  154.
  155. Maybe they weren't so different after all.
  156. Both hated Achyon and Osrona, both were rather fond of coins.
  157. The one difference, however, was the most important thing for Siegmund. Honor.
  158.
  159. "I believe we could keep this talk going for a long, long while. But we already agreed on the subject at hand, which is to kill Achyonites as much as we can, and to eventually siege their city."
  160.
  161. The man cracks his neck, large emerald wings bursting out of his back thanks to his mana, horns just as big, forming as the stare of the man was now back to his peers.
  162.
  163. "I apologize, my warriors. All of you came here seeking blood to praise Kark, and you have been here- Listening to me doing the politics and negotiations with this man."
  164.
  165. A smile.
  166.
  167. "Please, pick your target, my peers."
  168.
  169. Then once again rotating towards Maertock. The smile remaining. Oddly enough, despite the obvious hostile intent on Siegmund's words, his voice didn't show much aggressiveness.
  170.
  171. "Consider this stress relief, as well as a test of your people's strength."
  172.
  173. They were ready to strike.
  174. If so the warriors wish to.
  175. (Siegmund Rune)
  176. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  177.
  178. If Reave says, "Oh boy.."
  179. Maertock Reave exclaims, "Good fun!"
  180. "Lenalla. Yar' comin' with me." – Dreyri needed to clear up a few things, and doing that with a fight seemed at least fair. At least, they were now fighting side by side and no longer as enemies, even if temporary.
  181. (Dreyri Hrosa)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. Maertock Reave exclaims, "A friendly exercise of violence!"
  185. Maertock Reave says, "Truly, you are my type of people."
  186. "Ahh yeah, was expecting that, yeah Dreyri lets make it quick!" The lionfish floated over spinning the revolver in her hand.
  187. (Lenalla)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. Bodil would flip the bottle in his hand.
  191.
  192. "Well guess that means it was best to get their stuff out the way. The man would look to everyone as he felt it was unfair to hog up everyone fun since he himself already tasted blood today.
  193.
  194. "I sit this one out until another wants to fight meh."
  195.
  196. He say simply prepared for anyone who would want to duke it out.
  197. (Bodil Ulf)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. Chaska frowned a bit looking over the group. It seemed that they outnumbered the pirates by one and as much as she'd love to get into a battle of her own she felt that Revna and Bodil would want the battle more than she.
  201.
  202. Reluctantly she took a step back and crossed her arms until Bodil took a step back. That was a bit of a surprise. "Alright, well if he doesn't want to fight I'll go for it." Chaska stated with an eager grin, looking to the two remaining pirates.
  203. (Chaska Ljoss)
  204. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  205.
  206. Revna took a deep breath and her energy was yet again focused and channeled thorough her emerging wings. The woman turning towards the others as Siegmund spoke his mind and intent.
  207.
  208. "Eh, It's about time for some fightin'"
  209.
  210. The drakanite said as one of her shoulders was spun, then again she appeared to simply be awaiting someone to step up in order to fight her under the eyes of Kark.
  211. (Revna Hartvigsen)
  212. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.
  214. If Reave says, "I'm just going to let someone throw the first hand because I cant be bothered to pick."
  215. Honestly? Andreas had remained heavily distant during the discussion. Whilst those rectangular pupils were here, it was clear his mind was elsewhere. Something had left, it's assured, and the effects had long since bee noticeable to passerby and crew.
  216.
  217. The Occult-laced goat-man hears the words fight though.
  218.
  219. Rising with a soft sigh the vice-captain pulls the rifle from his back. It's new, surely, and once he racks the slide he'd allow those distant eyes to shuffle between the gathered.
  220.
  221. "Takers?" He'd ask plainly, the shadows from beneath his cloak already beginning to spread outwards. Another day, another fight, another distant day as the crew's banker.
  222. (Andreas)
  223. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  224.
  225. Maertock would flash a toothy grin of ambient cheer as he cackled with amusement, the Captain of the Deep Company rising from his thinking seat as he dredged his cutlass from its confines. Dust and rust appeared to trail the length of the old blade of Saltspite, and yet as the shark's shadows manifested forth in a flowing tide, he'd only smile with cheer and a firm nod.
  226.
  227. "Truly, these are my type of people. Talking with swords after a meeting? This is GREAT."
  228.
  229. The shadow shark was ready; rusty as he was. He cared not if he won or lost; he felt more alive than he had in a long time.
  230.
  231. "To sinking the machine."
  232. (Maertock Reave)
  233. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  234.
  235. Maertock Reave says, "Good enough."
  236.
  237. The fight was tough- As expected from the leader of a company of Pirates. Siegmund was however very much prepared for this. He trained for years, he practiced against several different people which fought in similar ways- After the very first blows, he got his patterns figured out for the most part.
  238.
  239. Cosmic energy clashing against shadow blows, metal clashing against mythril, a pirate and a viking going all out for the sake of what they believe in. One follow the path of coin to get their blood, as the other seeks blood for the sake of coin.
  240.
  241. As the Vanirs always say..
  242.
  243. "Blood'n'Gold, you dishonorable son of a bitch."
  244.
  245. Siegmund had to let it out of his chest. His hatred for people without honor was far too great for him to not say it to Maertock. The blood of a Karkian boiling in the heat of a battle, each second of it making him praise his God more and more, a smile covering his features.
  246.
  247. Obviously, the Vanirhallans were born for this. They lived to fight, and they fought to live. And just like that.. An opening. The pirate raised his arm at the wrong time, as the Drakanite had his fist on the low, quickly raising it with invigorating speed to meet the man's arm.
  248.
  249. Upon impact, both Siegmund and Maertock would be able to hear the bones shattering, cracking like a coconut being hit by a hammer. With this, the pirate would be sent upwards, quickly falling to the ground. Upon impact, the Drakanite would simply stand still and look at the man.
  250.
  251. "..Good."
  252.
  253. Honestly? This was the closest thing to a compliment he was going to get. Siegmund hated those guys after all.
  254. (Siegmund Rune)
  255. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  256.
  257. If Reave says, "I'd also take you on dragon lad but eh.."
  258. Bodil Ulf exclaims, "Booze calls!"
  259. If Reave says, "Actually took a few good blows."
  260. If Reave says, "And booze calls."
  261. Maertock was having the time of his life. It'd been years since he'd gotten in a proper fight for no goddamn reason. Perhaps he'd grown old, or perhaps he'd simply fallen into a....malaise of sorts. His brother's death, his crew dying off in bits and pieces, it had worn on the shadow shark.
  262.
  263. Yet, dancing with Siegmund with Saltspite drawn in a silvery clangor, drunken waddle flowing forth as cosmic light clashed with a fog of inky darkness, the captain would cackle with cheer and excitement.
  264.
  265. "BLACK AND DEEP, YOU HANDSOME BASTARD."
  266.
  267. The captain had not risen to the top for nothing. Though Saltspite was old and rusty, the immense strength of the Sirenian's physicality more than made up for a dull blade. Shockwaves of errant force flew forth with brutality as the two clashed metal to metal, darkness to shining light.
  268.
  269. One slip up was all it took. With a bold attempted riposte at the drakan, the miss left his right armwide open for an uppercut of kings right from Vanirheim. Flying upwards as his bones snapped with a meaty crunch, the Captain of the Deep Company landed with a thud upon his back as a crater formed around him from the sheer force of Siegmund's blow.
  270.
  271. Pain, adrenaline, pleasure, excitement, countless impulses ran through Maertock's form as he laid back. But only a few words came to mind as he pushed himself up with his unbroken arm; black tentacles expanding from his inky cloak to wrap it tightly in a brace of darkness as he smiled wide.
  272.
  273. "You're pretty good. Now that's how warriors speak! Helluva show raider, you may yet make a good rival."
  274.
  275.
  276. (Maertock Reave)
  277. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  278.
  279. And, again, it ends much like their initial fight. Sure, his wounds were beginning to stack up, but Revna was faltering swiftly as well.
  280.
  281. Whilst the explosions ring out one after the other, his shadowy cover quickly diminishing, the goat-man can't help but lightly snarl as the fight edges onto its usual closeness. He could sap mana away from her, bat her away with a shadowy claw, but at the end of a day a Drakanite was stubborn.
  282.
  283. Revna's heat was absolutely more than just a magic, but an extension of her personality.
  284.
  285. Whilst it flared and sought to leave a lasting mark upon his body he'd merely respond in kind. Upon his last breaths he'd manage to catch a win once more. Leaping from a shadow he's quick to roll into a tumble, the rifle's scope swiftly aimed at the Hartvigsen--
  286.
  287. He could see the star within her, and with one prime shot to the gut she finds a bolt of malefic mana embedding itself into her circuitry.
  288.
  289. A held breath is released, the goat-horned man slowly raising to his feet whilst the other recovered. "Two more to me. Again, I told you I'd prove myself. Thus-" Motioning outwards with his arms he'd declare, "Let's call it here."
  290. (Andreas)
  291. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  292.
  293. Then again, Revna's flames just weren't hot enough.. or perhaps her feeble body was failing her once again?.. the shot suddenly driving her to an halt as the unnatural cold overwhelmed and threatened to set off her flaring self as she shook and even tensed up quite a lot. Her body remaining onto its feet as she adamantly refused to be rendered upon her knees.
  294.
  295. "..." She seemed speechless for a moment, as if she was still debating the best way to go about besting Andreas once again. Was she simply out of her element?.. or perhaps the newly attained gear was proving to be too much to her?..
  296.
  297. "Fuckin'.. Andreas" The Drakanite huffed as the air steamed around her, not as warmly as it usually would be as two sources of bristling cold were doing quite a number on her. not counted her exposed and now Shot stomach.
  298.
  299. "Bloody' fockin'.. Hel'.. FINE" She then mustered out, clearly disgusted by the usual display of the man's magic. as slimy as a pirate would be expected to be, but for now her endless assault would.. End, but not because the man said so. She had Enough.
  300.
  301.
  302. (Revna Hartvigsen)
  303. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  304.
  305. Maertock would conjure a lawn chair out of shadows, sitting and proceeding to sip his mojito as he watched with amusement.
  306. (Maertock Reave)
  307. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  308. Once she finally decides to calm down the pirate seems to let up his guard. Those rectangular pupils, however, remain fixated to the Hartvigsen. "Know I'm a damn fine cook, but'cha don't gotta keep rushin' me like this... Ya said I had ta beat'cha one day, righ'?
  309.
  310. There we 'ave it." Turning his frame towards the rest he'd keep his gaze as best he could on the Hartvigsen. Deep One knows she could damn well pounce at him like the warrior she was - Wouldn't be the first nor last time that he expected such, truthfully.
  311.
  312. "Suggestin' gettin' 'er ta someone with medical experience or some 'ealin' elixirs. Ain't think 'em fire magi much like bein'... Cold." With a faint nod of his head the vice-captain drones on. "Nice figh'in' ya 'gain though. 'aven't fought in a loooong time..."
  313. (Andreas)
  314. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  315.
  316. As far as he managed to notice the remaining fights, Siegmund was the only one of the Vanirs that managed to best his foe. Underwhelming but.. Interesting. Maybe those Pirates weren't all that bad. Or rather, maybe cooperation wasn't the only thing that waited both group's future.
  317.
  318. "Enough Revna."
  319.
  320. He reinforced towards the Drakanite with the better looking wings. The man noticing the injures on all the other Vanirhallans, taking a deep breath at it.
  321.
  322. "Not bad, Maertock. I guess we could achieve good things by working together. It's quite rare to see Revna losing like this."
  323.
  324. Looking around.
  325. And around.
  326. And around..
  327.
  328. "..Bodil went to drink with the other pirate, didn't he?"
  329. (Siegmund Rune)
  330. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  331.
  332. Andreas says, "... Ye."
  333. Andreas says, "Righ' inta the reef."
  334. Siegmund Rune says, "I am not pulling the pin on that grenade."
  335. Maertock Reave says, "Pffffft."
  336. Andreas says, "Trus' me, if 'e drinks like If 'n' Captain 'ere, I'm gonna be budgetin' 'gain."
  337. Maertock Reave says, "That's a move. You're welcome to come drink in the tavern any time, it's too quiet as is."
  338. Maertock Reave says, "LISTEN."
  339. Andreas says, "S'already 'ard 'nuff ta get 'nuff rum for both of 'em."
  340. Maertock Reave says, "IT'S ONLY ALCOHOLISM IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT"
  341. Maertock Reave says, "ANDREAS."
  342. Andreas says, "S'only a prollem when we run OUT, Captain."
  343. Andreas says, "Then I gotta LISTEN ta ya both complain."
  344. Maertock Reave says, "Listen, it's hardly MY FAULT our wealth got eaten by the sea then spat back out."
  345. Maertock Reave says, "PROBABLY ANNE'S FAULT."
  346. Maertock Reave says, "DEAD BITCH."
  347. Maertock would spit on the ground.
  348. (Maertock Reave)
  349. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  350. Siegmund Rune says, "..Very specific."
  351. Andreas pinches his nose.
  352. (Andreas)
  353. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  354.
  355. Korito Umizuri says, "Pirates.."
  356. As soon as they were done with most of their issues, something very rare would happen. The pirates and the Vanirhallans finally finished their fights, only for the topic of their battle to be addressed- Or rather. To literally appear in front of them.
  357.
  358. "Maertock."
  359.
  360. He gestures towards Ksena.
  361.
  362. "I present you an Achyonite. One that fought with her people to capture a woman next to my post. Also the same who says she wishes to 'better humanity'."
  363.
  364. A sigh.
  365.
  366. "I don't think much else is needed to be said here."
  367. (Siegmund Rune)
  368. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  369.
  370. Maertock Reave asks, "Now, is that so?"
  371.
  372. A single hand would carefully twist the Sinka betwixt her fingers. It is careful and concise...A gentle smile soon appearing upon her features as she would turn briefly. "Huuu…?" She questions, quirking nothing more than a mere eyebrow. "Ah...Yes. I am an 'Achyonite'." she says while batting nothing more than a mere hand...Clearly, unphased at being told on. Although, she does find the Rune to be rather annoying...
  373.
  374. In any event. "Why...Is there an Osronan that wishes to battle me?" She questions, her vermillion hues soon flickering over towards Maertock...A slow, careful smile appearing upon her features. "If so..."
  375.
  376. "I'm interested.."
  377. (Ksena)
  378. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  379. Maertock would raise an eyebrow as he turned his gaze to the arrival of the bunny lass, the Captain of the Deep Company snorting with amusement as his new business associate Siegmund offered the deets on a fresh arrival. All in all, he found the matter incredibly amusing, and a swift glance over of Ksena determined the right way of things.
  380.
  381. "A better question is why you're an Achyonite. Place has no use for free thinkers and bold striders. Only those willing to suckle at Matryona's teat and bend over to her every command."
  382.
  383. The Captain would bob his head firmly at that.
  384.
  385. "No Osronans here. Don't like them much either; but a problem stands that the commander of the cogs did me wrong. Real wrong. Cowers away in her citadel as she grows old and fat, draining the life from young cogs that might make a difference."
  386.
  387. Maertock would point at Ksena with his not broken arm, clicking his teeth with a smile.
  388.
  389. "So who's side you on? Your own, or theirs? Best time in your life to make a decision like this, won't come twice."
  390. (Maertock Reave)
  391. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  392.
  393.
  394. There seemed to be a pause for the moment, her fluttering gaze soon turning into an inquisitive stare - "Quite frankly, I've never spoken to this Matryona a day in my life." She says, tilting her head ever so slightly. "And I don't think my opinion truly matters in this case...You, will more than likely, sound like all the rest." She doesn't seem to feign innocence. Quite frankly, she places herself above it..
  395.
  396. "I follow the things that I want to. Matryona does not command me- I command me. And although she 'might' be 'the leader of the military(?)', I've no contact with her. My main goal is and will always remain the same." She says, her smile faltering...The light within the vermillion hues darkening as sands shudder.
  397.
  398. "I'll push humanity toevolve. And as it stands...I am on Achyon's side." She'd murmur, waving a hand. "-I don't think I'll be changing my decision any time soon."
  399. (Ksena)
  400. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  401.
  402. Maertock would thoughtfully contemplate the girl's words as he tapped his chin, mulling upon the girl's words with haunting cheer as he beamed with those jagged rows of teeth. It was somewhere between friendly and nightmarish; a disturbing place between the two no doubt.
  403.
  404. "You haven't spoken to the commander of your city? The one who makes all the decisions? Sounds like you don't fit in at all, you actually think for yourself."
  405.
  406. The Captain would make a tutting sound at that.
  407.
  408. "That kind of talk is all well and good, but I doubt you'd actually go up to her face and say you don't listen to her commands. If you did, more power to you, your execution at least would be a spectacle."
  409.
  410. Maertock would wave his hand lightly at the girl, yawning with another soft click of his teeth.
  411.
  412. "Prove me wrong. Or else you're just full of hot air. Now get out of here wabbit, don't forget our little chat."
  413.
  414. The girl was spared this day. Probably by Maertock's broken arm.
  415.
  416.
  417. (Maertock Reave)
  418. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  419.
  420.
  421. There seems to be a pause for the moment. One ear folds and the other stands tall as curiosity continues to blossom into her being. She hums in a sing-song manner...Her gaze soon fluttering towards the crowd of Vanirhallans. "I don't fit in, honestly. But that matters little. So long as I get what I desire, then I'm certain that we won't be clashing. Besides..." She shrugs - opting to be rather honest with those around. "I'm certain that the lot of you will learn to love my gifts." The waving hand soon drifts towards her lips, where she'd stifle a soft giggle.
  422.
  423. Nevertheless.
  424.
  425. "Honestly, I probably wouldn't- unless her commands are near suicidal. I do not blindly follow...However...You're right. Whether I get executed or not matters little, I am a spectacle standing. I am...Me." She takes pride within her being. And the way the tail behind her would shift excitedly from side to side is only proof.
  426.
  427. She's lost within her own illusions of grandeur. And she loves it. "I've nothing to prove to any of you...I think it's moreso the other way around. If you want people to 'defect'...Perhaps, you could start by not offending little 'wabbits' like me."
  428.
  429. Either way...
  430.
  431. The woman would step away, a lasting gaze offered towards Siegmund. Ah....Surely, he knows that she'll get the last laugh.
  432. (Ksena)
  433. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  434.
  435. Maertock would shrug idly at the little wabbit, taking a drag from his cigar as minty smoke rose from his dry, reddened gills with ambient cheer. He did like to make a ruckus from time to time after all.
  436.
  437. "That's good. Never fit in kid; trailblazers have no time for such nonsense. Draw your own lines, live by them, and don't ever look back. "
  438.
  439. The seven foot siren would nod firmly at that, the bunny's own illusions of grandeur reminding him of his old ways. Before his brother died, where even he was all hot air.
  440.
  441. "It only matters as much as your own stake in your path forward. Use Achyon for it's resources, more power to you; did the same once. They'll use you the same lest you get the better of'm. "
  442.
  443. The shadow shark would hum a soothing, siren tune at that.
  444.
  445. "I've got nothing to prove myself; I'm a pirate lord as rich and free as I could be. Really just a matter of what you've god to prove for yourself, little lady. End of the day, that's all that matters."
  446. (Maertock Reave)
  447. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  448.
  449. This was one of the few moments Siegmund wasn't sure if someone's words were truth of not. The Achyonite's tongue seemed poisonous, like a Vaalmooran ready to kill their victim with a hidden blade. If it was under normal circumstances? The Vanirhallan wouldn't think twice on attacking the woman.
  450.
  451. But right now?
  452. Some of his warriors were bleeding, and they needed proper treatment soon if he didn't want them dying out due to an infection. Nothing was said towards Ksena for a few moments, even if he felt personally targeted by her glance and words.
  453.
  454. He didn't trust her.
  455. But he, for some reason, didn't hate her.
  456. Even if she was from Achyon.
  457. Maybe it was related to the first time they talked, when only the two of them and some random mercenary were around.
  458.
  459. "Do come visit."
  460.
  461. The man said in what seemed to be a.. Honest tune, towards Ksena.
  462. Odd.
  463. (Siegmund Rune)
  464. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  465.
  466. Is there poison in honesty? Perhaps. Although she does have a manner of speaking - she most certainly will not forget this little interaction here. Especially, exposing her to those that were around. Regardless though, if they didn't trust her...They had a right not to. Although, she isn't a malicious being...She certainly is one that possesses ulterior motives. But this little happening wasn't so bad after all..
  467.
  468. "Mhh...I'll keep it in mind." She adds with a soft, gentle hum. "If you'll excuse me though...I should be on my way. I think I've overstayed my welcome." The smile soon returns...And with a gentle wave, she is off once more.
  469.
  470. Only before pausing.
  471.
  472. "Mh. Most certainly."
  473.
  474. But the question is...
  475.
  476. Will it beof hostile intent?
  477. (Ksena)
  478. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  479.
  480. Revna Hartvigsen says, "Eh.. what was that bout.. "
  481. Maertock Reave says, "Pleasant chat."
  482. Maertock Reave says, "Shame she's on the list now."
  483. Maertock Reave says, "Maybe she'll wake up 'fore then."
  484. Siegmund Rune says, "Aye."
  485. Siegmund Rune says, "She's... Odd."
  486. Maertock Reave says, "Way I see it."
  487. Siegmund Rune says, "Certainly less hateful than most of them, but still very loyal."
  488. Maertock Reave says, "Loyalty can be worn away."
  489. Maertock Reave says, "Just need honeyed words, is all."
  490. Siegmund Rune says, "I.. See."
  491. Maertock Reave says, "S'pose we've kept you busy enough for one evening my Vanir compatriots. "
  492. Maertock Reave says, "We shall in no doubt speak again over mead at the Reef."
  493. Revna Hartvigsen says, "I need a bit of.. a bite, Aye.."
  494. Maertock Reave says, "Come by anytime."
  495. Siegmund Rune says, "Aye. Revna is literally too cold for comfort. So."
  496. Siegmund Rune says, "We will be going. Take care of this.. Weird kid."
  497. Maertock Reave says, "Good winds, firm travels."
  498. Siegmund Rune says, "Good. Now. Finally."
  499. Siegmund Rune says, "Goodbye."
  500. Priya Argyris says, "Well then..."
  501. If Reave says, ".."
  502. If Reave says, "Th'blonde lad wanted me t'sing a song with him."
  503. Maertock Reave says, "I think."
  504. Maertock Reave says, "I like them."
  505. Maertock Reave says, "Very amusing."
  506. If Reave says, "I feckin hate comin up with lyrics on th'spot.."
  507. If Reave says, "But aye- They're a.."
  508. If Reave says, "They're a boistrous lot."
  509. Maertock Reave says, "Aye. Perhaps that's what we need. "
  510. Maertock Reave says, "New friends in new times."
  511. Maertock Reave says, "At least we can agree we all fucking hate Achyon."
  512. If Reave says, "Aye, I suppose that'll do us.. SOme amount of good."
  513. If Reave says, "Possibly."
  514. If Reave says, "I just had the strangest mixture of honey, sake, and some -other- booze, and crimson reed.."
  515. Maertock Reave says, "Pffffft."
  516. Maertock Reave says, "Sounds about right."
  517. If Reave says, "It was a very good plan t'have him -make- th'drinks when he lost."
  518. Maertock Reave says, "I can't deny, broken arm aside; I'm in a great mood."
  519. Maertock Reave says, "'Feels like the land is alive again."
  520. Maertock Reave says, "Ripe for reaving."
  521. If Reave says, "Aye. Th'world's back in motion after Murtock's death stopped it spinnin."
  522. If Reave says, "..."
  523. If Reave asks, "Ya need a potion fer that?"
  524. [The woman waves her farewells, slowly walking into the ocean.
  525. (Hariett Rose)
  526. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  527.
  528. If Reave asks, "Did we just witness a suicide?"
  529. Andreas says, "'appens."
  530. Andreas says, "Not the first one I saw."
  531. Maertock Reave says, "Eyup."
  532. Maertock Reave says, "Won't be the last."
  533. If Reave says, "Damn."
  534.
