- (Open on the large dump somewhere that Rally, Blitz, Tank, and Nervin were imprisoned in. Nervin is banging on the video screen that was showing them the duel.)
- Nervin: Oh, come on, what gives! We're in the middle of watching maybe the most important duel ever and you just stop working?! You call yourself a television, come on, work already! Puh-leeese!
- Rally: Man, what a piece of junk.
- Blitz: Well, we *did* find the thing lyin' around in this junkyard.
- (Just then the TV bleeps and comes back on)
- Nervin: Aha, it's back!
- (On the screen, we can hear the crowd chanting 'Cortez! Cortez! Cortez!'. Every one of the holographic screens around the stadium skyline shows his face. He doesn't appear to be happy or surprised; his expression is rather closed. He is pinned down by a triple spotlight as he stands on the track. He looks around at the stands, and at the camera.)
- Announcer (on screen): Aaaand it's official! We have a new champion! The crown has been passed on to Cortez Blackful!
- Tank: You gotta be kiddin' me, we missed the ending of the duel?!
- Blitz: Aw, man.
- Nervin: Am I hearing what I think I'm hearing?
- (It starts to dawn on them; Nervin looks startled, Tank grips Nervin's shoulder in front of him. Blitz gasps, and Rally looks the most shocked of all.)
- Tank: They're all chantin' Cortez's name!
- Rally: So this means that he, he beat both Yusei and Jack?
- (A high-five in the air; Nervin, Blitz, and Tank do a victory dance; Rally is still staring at the screen, completely stunned.)
- Nervin: Oh yeah! Sweet!
- Tank: That's what I'm talkin' about babyyyyy! Though I was hoping for Yusei, but Cortez seems fine too.
- (Rally stares for a bit more, completely stunned, then his face lights up.)
- Rally: ... This is awesome!!
- (At the stadium, beneath a huge holographic projection of Yusei's head, the reporters are in a flurry.)
- - --I'll make sure it gets around--
- - --We're not passed yet, Sella.
- - That's right, Bob. The energy here is incredible. Nobody saw this coming!
- - -- Is this mic on?--
- (Carly, a gawky young journalist in a yellow vest with thick, spiraly glasses and a camera, snaps a few photos and then speaks into the camera, switching it to video. The glasses make her look extremely geeky, if not a little bit crazy.)
- Carly: Uh, I'm standing in Domino Stadium in Domino City, uh, I mean, <1:00> obviously Domino Stadium is *in* Domino City-- ah!
- (She is shoved aside by a blonde reporter in a red-pink jacket with a mic and a camera guy)
- Angela: Ready? Angela Raines here, reporting for WDGK at the Fortune Cup finale, where Tezcor Darker has stolen Jack Atlas's championship crown--!
- Carly: Hey, Angela, one journalist to another-- his name's not 'Tezcor Darker', it's *Cortez Blackful*!!
- Angela: I hate to break it to ya, Carly, but a blogger is *not* a journalist. (Carly fumes) So tell me-- how many hits a day is that little *website* of yours getting?
- Carly: Thousands, of millions...
- Angela: I seriously doubt that. Well, Carly, I'd *love* to talk down to ya some more, but I did enough of that in high school! See ya! I got an interview to score!
- Carly: Uh! Hey!
- (Carly runs after Angela)
- (Meanwhile, Cortez is standing in the stadium, surrounded by holoscreens of himself, the crowd chanting his name.)
- Cortez (think): I may've beaten Jack, but I've got a feeling that a new battle is about to begin.
- (Back at the Fortune Cup, Cortez watches a couple of paramedics load Jack onto a gurney and cover him with a blanket before wheeling him away.)
- Paramedic: Don't worry, Mister Atlas is gonna be fine. We just need to get him to the clinic for some routine tests. Oh, and congratulations, kid.
- Cortez (think): Jack, what did we see in that light?
- (Hecklers can be heard from the stands)
- - Hey, how'ja do it?!
- - Was that lizard thing you're?!
- - We love, cutie!
- - *Like* you should come over to my place!
- - You were awesome out there, man!
- Leo: Cortez!
- (Cortez turns; Leo, Yanagi, Tanner and Yusei are running toward him.)
- Cortez: Huh? Hey, guys. Everyone okay?
- Yanagi: *We're* fine, but you're about to face a brand new enemy-- the *Media!*
- (He points; behind a fence nearby, flashbulbs are snapping, reporters are shouting, and Angela can be seen waving her microphone in front.)
- - Over here! Uh, yeah, couldja pose for a picture?
- Angela: What are your plans, now that you've won?
- (The fence falls, and the reporters come stampeding toward them, shouting.)
- Leo: They're loose!!
- Cortez: Aah!
- (Behind him, Tanner is pushing Yusei's runner.)
- Tanner: Better rev it up. And that means you too, Yusei, if you can still ride.
- Cortez: Right.
- Yusei: We better get going.
- (They ride on their runners drift off as the reporters stampede closer.)
- (Up in Goodwin's tower...)
- Lezar: Cortez's running away! Is that okay?! What even happened at the end of that duel?! What was that strange light all about? Does it change anything? Is it okay that Jack lost?!
- Goodwin: Who won and who lost is not important.
- Lezar: Euh?
- Goodwin: What's important is that the stars have finally begun to align. Soon, they will become one. That's the only thing that matters right now!
- Lezar: Huh...?
- (The reporters are camped out in a garage that opens onto the track; everyone's talking at once. Angela is peeved.)
- Angela: Well *this* is a dead end. Come on, boys; let's go find Goodwin.
- (Carly, too, is looking around...)
- (... But she has no idea that beneath their feet, Yusei, Cortez and their friends have made a clean getaway. Right to left as they walk along, Tanner, walking to runners; Dexter; Yusei; Luna; Leo; and Yanagi.)
- Dex: Where are we?
- Tanner: This is an abandoned service tunnel. I told Cortez about the place in case he won.
- Dex: Cool! Hey Tanner, how didja know this was down here?
- Tanner: A guy like me knows these things. That, and Blister told me.
- Yanagi: I have no idea what happened to you in that light, but I'm just thrilled that you won the tournament!
- Leo: I *knew* you could do it, Cortez! You're the best duelist I've ever seen! You're, like, my hero! Uhh, aside of Yusei, of course.
- (Dex nods)
- Tanner: Forget the tournament. The whole thing was a setup on Goodwin's part. Let's not forget, the only reason Yusei and Cortez agreed to duel was 'cause Goodwin captured their friends.
- Dex, Leo, and Yanagi: Hmm.
- Tanner: Until we figure out what the whole story is, we should lay low at Blister's hideout. Leo and Luna, you should prob'ly come an' stay with us, too.
- Leo: Are you serious?! Awesome, it'll be like sleepaway camp only even better!!!
- (Yusei smiles at Leo's enthusiasm. Luna looks troubled as she speaks up. Cortez only looks out the window, like he knows what's going to happen next.)
- Luna: Cortez? I dunno how, but I was able to see inside that weird light. I saw you guys dueling, and...
- Cortez (knows what she's about to say): What's you see?
- Luna (faces him, fear in her eyes): I saw the Satellite being destroyed!
- (Flashback. Purple flames as high as buildings crisscross the Satellite cityscape, ruthlessly demolishing any structure in their path. As the Signers ride above the vision on their glowing pathway, the fires have finished etching the flaming purple outline of a spider. End Flashback.)
- Luna: That was the future, wasn't it.
- Cortez: I have no idea. But if that *was* some kind of vision of the future, then we *have* to stop it from happening!
- (Luna looks worried; she looks at her right arm and lays a hand over her Sign.)
- Luna: What is a Signer?
- (Yanagi jumps in between Yusei and Luna, ready to ramble.)
- Yanagi: Allow *me*, Luna! I can tell you everything there is to know! But before I explain what a Signer is, I'll hafta give you some backstory, by thrilling you with tales of my numerous archaeological adventures around the world!
- (Luna looks at Yusei, nonplussed; Yusei smiles back, amused.)
- Luna: Um, okay...
- (Flashback. As the Signers ride above the vision on their glowing pathway, the fires have finished etching the flaming purple outline of a spider.)
- Yusei : That spider!
- (End Flashback.)
- Yusei (think): I have to figure out what it is before it's too late!
- (Back at the Kaibadome, the reporters wait impatiently behind a wall of guards for Goodwin to exit his tower)
- - That's right, Ted, we're waiting outside of Director Goodwin's tower right now.
- (Carly peeks out of the crowd.)
- Carly : Uh! I'm getting all nervous and stuff. What kind of question should I ask Goodwin? Ah! (snaps) I'll consult my fortunetelling deck! That oughta give me some kind of clue.
- (Carly draws from her deck; it's Fortune Fairy Hikari.)
- Carly (reads): Okay, so 'Today is all about being super-happy. So if you're anxious about something, don't be; just keep moving forward, and everything will be fine!' Well! That's good to know!
- (The elevator door opens, and Goodwin and Lezar are beseiged with questions as the guards try to keep order)
- - Is that giant dragon a monster card?
- - Come on, people, step back!
- - What happened inside that light?
- - Mister Goodwin! Mister Goodwin?!
- Angela: A lot of fans are questioning the legitimacy of Yusei's victory since they didn't see the final move being played!
- Goodwin: Here's what I can tell you-- during the final duel, our holographic system experienced a hiccup of sorts, making it so that we couldn't display the visuals. However we *can* confirm that Yusei was, in fact, the victor. All other details will be released in the coming days.
- Angela: What can you tell us about the new champion? Who is he? What's his story? Where's he get his clothes?
- Goodwin: You'll have to ask Yusei yourself; we don't really know that much about him.
- (Carly struggles her way through the crowd, looks once more at her card)
- Carly: Here goes nothing.
- (Carly crawls through the forest of legs in the crowd, determined to reach the front)
- Carly: 'Scuse me! Pardon me! Don't mind me-- sorry! Just gonna-- squeeze on through here--
- Angela: What about Jack Atlas? How is he taking--
- (Carly pops up in front of her)
- Carly: Mister... Goodwin? Uh...
- Angela: I was in the middle of asking a question!!
- Carly: Eh, uh, when that big dragon appeared during the final duel, it, uh, w- it looked like Jack's arm was glowing or something. Did that glow on his arm have any connection to the giant dragon?
- (Goodwin's eyes narrow; he is not happy about this question.)
- Goodwin: Hm.
- (Flashback, to Jack's Sign glowing as he rode.)
- Goodwin: His arm was glowing, you say?
- (End Flashback.)
- Goodwin (innocently): I'm afraid I didn't see *that*. Perhaps the sheen of his runner was reflecting the sunlight into your eyes.
- Carly: N-no, i-i-it was kinda-- wah!!
- Angela: *Why* are you asking irrelevant questions?!
- Carly: I saw something--
- Lezar: We'll be releasing an official statement concerning the duel later on. Right now, Director Goodwin has matters to attend to, so please, let us through.
- Angela: But...! I have more questions!!
- (Angela makes noises of distress and outrage as the reporters are herded back to form a walkway for Goodwin and Lezar. )
- - C'mon, people, move to the side and make room for the Director...
- - --One more question--
- - --Satellite district--
- - -- ever be allowed to duel again?--
- - --Please, would you just answer this one question?
- (As he makes his exit, Goodwin ominously glares at Carly.)
- - Director Goodwin! Great. Looks like we've got nothing juicy for the six o'clock slot.
- - Well, there's still Jack Atlas.
- - Oh, right, him.
- (Angela runs past)
- Angela: Beat ya there!!!
- - Huh? Hey! Wait for us!!
- (Carly is left standing alone, but she has bigger fish to fry, and she is stoked!)
- Carly: Goodwin dodged my question! That means I'm onto something! Better not let it slip through the cra-- aaaaacks!!!!!
- (She starts to run, slips, and goes flying; her shoe flings itself high into the air.)
- (Later, Carly drives down the freeway in her little yellow car, beneath a larger-than-life holographic statue of Yusei.)
- Computer: Autopilot activated.
- (A computer blips at her. Inside the old-fashioned interior, video screens and radars take up most of the dashboard space. Also note the driver's side is the right. Carly presses a button; the guy at the other end of the video phone call pounds his fist on the table angrily as soon as she picks up.)
- Pitts: CARLY!! Where are ya?! I sentcha out for coffee two hours ago!
- Carly: Sorry, but something important came up!
- Pitts: What could be more important than my caffeine fix?!
- Carly: Well, sir-- I found a big scoop!
- Pitts: Interns don't look for scoops! They make copies and fetch coffee! Don't bother comin' back ta the office, kid, you're fired!
- Carly: Fired! But I'm not even *paid!* Just gimme a chance, Mister Pitts, this story I'm chasing is huge!
- Pitts: Yeah?! What is it?
- Carly: A Conspiracy At the Fortune Cup. This one might lead all the way to the top!
- Pitts: Are you talkin' about Goodwin? Never liked the guy. Bring back some dirt on him and you might still have a job waitin' for ya!
- Carly (thumbs-up): I'm on it, Mister Pitts!
- (The call ends. She sighs, and presses a button on a machine that her camera is sitting on. The computer screen on which she received the call (covered with sticky notes) shows footage of the duel.)
- Carly: Time to see if I saw what I thought I saw. Please be there, please be there...
- (Carly's screen shows footage of Jack's playing a card, then red lightning forcing Stardust and Archfiend apart. Finally--)
- Carly: Ah! There it is! Yusei's arm is *definitely* glowing! Goodwin tried to feed me that sheen-in-sunlight bit, but he's *definitely* covering something up! And I'm gonna figure out what it is. Carly Carmine is gonna crack this case wide-open! Heeheeheehee...
- Computer: Duel disk signals detected. In fifteen yards, turn left.
- (Computer screen shows a radial graph marked with compass points; middling close and at eleven o'clock, a blip appears. Within a few moments, she passes a street duel on the pavement beneath the freeway; one opponent has Blade Knight on the field and a card facedown; the other summons a green dragon, T5D027_id1, and the guy with Blade Knight activates his facedown "Threatening Roar".)
- Carly: I've spent the last five years of my life blogging about street duels. Angela's become a *real* reporter for the biggest station in New Domino City. Meanwhile, I'm living out of my car.
- (Indeed, a sleeping bag is laid out across the back seat and a laundry line flaps in the back window.)
- Carly: But that's over! I'm gonna get to the bottom of this story and then, Mister Pitts is gonna make me a front-page reporter! Look out world-- Carly Carmine is comin' at ya, full-speed! Huh?
- (She's stopped dead in the road.)
- Carly: Ah! That is, once I fill up my tank...
- (Smokestacks, many, against a murky grey sky. A single, circular, hole reveals the grey sky and streams foggy light down into darkness, illuninating an odd, fluted spire in the gloom. A drop of bright water pierces the silent darkness and causes shining ripples. The next image is a three-pronged candlestick, the only thing barely illuminating a table of unfamiliar individuals in cloaks.)
- Roman: So. Goodwin has gathered his precious Signers and summoned the Crimson Dragon. And to make matters more drastic, he's call forth a new being from another world. Hmhmhmhmhmhmhm!
- (The others laugh evilly)
- Roman: I think it's time we make our presence known. We must lower the curtain of shadows on Domino City. (Their eyes start to glow purple) Like the great Bard said-- 'What a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.' Huheheheheheh! The dawn of the spider has come!
- (The speaker opens his palm and reveals a pair of spiders.)
- - And soon, it shall cloak this world in darkness.
- (The spiders extend webs to the chandelier above, and raise themselves out of his palm as he continues to laugh evilly and the others do as well)
- (Sunset at Blister's hideout. Yanagi hums tunelessly as he draws something on a piece of paper, while Cortez, Yusei, Tanner, and the twins gather around.)
- Yanagi: Now, bear in mind that I'm not an artist and I only saw it the one time, but, the Dragon's Seal looks something like-- this!
- Yusei: Hah!!
- Leo: What?
- Yusei: That's the dragon's head! (sic)
- Leo: What is it? What *about* the head?
- Yusei: Look.
- (All gasp; Yusei is showing them his Sign, which looks just like the dragon's head he pointed out in Yanagi's drawing.)
- Leo: Ah...!That looks just like it! Hey Luna, let's see *your* mark!
- (Luna pulls up her sleeve to reveal the claw burned into her skin)
- Both twins: Oh...
- Leo: So Luna's mark looks like the claw thingy. What does that mean?
- Yanagi: According to legend, the Crimson Dragon's head, wings, hands, legs, and tail were split into five parts, and then sealed away as marks on the original Signers. The marks were then passed down through the generations.
- Tanner: But right now we only know about *four* Signers. So how was the Crimson Dragon summoned if only four of 'em were gathered?
- Yanagi: I guess the fifth Signer must have been somewhere in that arena.
- Leo: So Luna's a Signer, Jack's a Signer, Akiza's a Signer, and Yusei's a Signer. Hey, Cortez, are you the fifth Signer?
- Cortez: No, I'm not. But I do have powers similar to one. This is different however, for some reason, this is a new timeline, where I am participating in this event.
- Leo: So who's the other one then? Maybe it's me, maybe *I* have a mark somewhere!
- (Leo pulls up his shirt and looks at his arms, searching for a mark. Luna's eye is drawn again to Yanagi's drawing. Leo notices. Luna stares at the image, worried, and closes her eyes tightly, moaning. Then, with a light 'oh!' she faints on the spot.)
- Yanagi: Euh! Whoa! (catches her)
- Yusei: Is she okay?!
- Leo: Luna! What's wrong?
- Luna (weakly): It's nothing, I... mm, I'm just a little tired or something.
- Tanner: Well, that's understandable; we've all had a crazy couple a' days. Let's try to get some rest.
- (Luna, lolling over, takes one last glance at the drawing. Yusei follows her gaze. Close in on the drawing...)
- ( ...then fade to Jack, lying motionless in a sickbed somewhere. The room is plain, with an empty bedside table and some plants next to the curtained windows. Outside, Mina paces restlessly, and looks at the door.)
- Mina: Mister Atlas, I hope you're going to be all right.
- (She sits in a chair in front of the door; the number on the door is 304. She clasps her hands; she might be praying.)
- (Outside the hospital, the reporters are once again blocked off by guards.)
- - No dice. They're not letting anyone in.
- - Maybe we can climb the building and sneak in through a window.
- Angela: I'm waiting right here until he comes out!
- (Carly drives by)
- Carly: Here's my chance to get ahead of these jerks!
- (She drives away)
- (Twilight. Three cloaked figures with white markings on their robes are using a stagnant fountain in the bad part of town as a stage, addressing a dubious crowd of passersby.)
- - The Crimson Dragon has come to Domino City!
- - It has come to spread despair and oppress us all!
- - The people of New Domino City must take a stand together!
- - The Dragon will try to tempt you with promises of fame and fortune!
- (Two bystanders exchange a shrug; neither one knows what's going on.)
- - Ignore its whisper and follow us down the virtuous path!
- - Only by denying the Dragon's call can we truly be free!
- (As the passersby listen, they don't notice as slender white threads come down on them from above, and a little web takes root on the back of each of their necks. Above, in the foggy sky, a huge web can be seen...)
- (Another individual in a white-marked robe, his arm bared to reveal a giant man-shaped Sign, walks down an alley and raises his arm; the Sign glows purple.)
- - The time... has come.
- (In Blister's hideout, Luna is tucked into the only bed, Leo and Yanagi snooze back-to-back on one sofa, and Tanner is sleeping sitting up on the other sofa. Yusei and Cortez are still awake, looking at the drawing on the desk.)
- Cortez: You can feel it too, right?
- (Yusei walks to the window; then winces, suddenly sensing a presence. He pulls off his right glove and looks at his right arm, glowing through the sleeve. He rolls up his sleeve and looks at it)
- Yusei : Yeah. My mark's never felt like this before! It feels like it's trying to warn me of something! Like there's a darkness or evil lurking!
- Cortez: Well, I'm going out on a drive. You keep an eye on the place.
- (Yusei nodded as Cortez took a walk. Outside, He took a drive on his runner. Suddenly he sees the suspicious individual with the purple giant Sign standing outside in the alley, looking up at him.)
- Cortez (think): What the?! Who is *that*? Could he be the fifth Signer!
- (Cortez turns his runner and sees a cloak swish and jumps on his own runner and drives around a corner. He gives chase)
- Cortez: Hey wait up!
- (They drove down a long alley and around another corner and Yusei beholds a large building, held up by iron frameworks; it's a parking garage.)
- Cortez: Where's he going?!
- (Inside looking around-- it's empty, with barely any parked cars-- when he hears the suspicious individual's footstep and whirls around.)
- Cortez: So what's the deal with you sneaking up to people like that!
- - Heh, heh, heh, heh.
- Cortez: Who are you?! Are you the fifth Signer or what?
- - I am a shadow drone! And if you seek the truth, then my master says you must duel me for it!
- Cortez: OK, then! How do we do this?!
- Drone: A turbo duel. What else?
- Cortez: I know one place then!
- (Cortez drove off, and so did the shadow drone. As they raced off, they headed off inside the Kaiba Dome. Inside the stadium. They were at the starting point.)
- Drone: So, you choose this place. (making a grin) Perfect.
- Cortez: Let's just get on with the duel
- Both: Let's do this!
- (Duel! Wide-shot, cutscreen, 4000 lifepoints each.)
- (The camera pans out from the character I will from here on out refer to as Drone, as a wall of purplish flames springs up behind him and spreads around the duel in a circle.)
- (Cortez and the Drone are now riding within a ring of purple flames.)
- Cortez: Who are you and what's going on?!
- Drone: You and I have been offered up by the Light, and placed inside the energy ring of the Eternal Shadow. I'm afraid there's no turning back, now.
- Cortez: Wait what?!
- Drone: You'll see! I summon Giant Germ in defense mode!
- [Giant Germ 1000/100/L2/dark]
- Drone: Next, I place one card facedown and end my turn! Your move!
- Cortez: Alright, Mister Tall-Dark and Scary, it's my move!(Scoreboard. Cortez, 4000, 1; Drone, 4000, 1.) I'm activating the "Speed Spell - Overboost". Now I can add four speed counters, at the cost of lowering them at the end of my turn!
- (This gives Cortez's speed counters 5.)
- Cortez: Next I play the "Speed Fusion - Speed Spell!" Now I fuse Avian and Burstinatrix to summon, Elemental Hero Flame WingMan!
- (Avian and Burstinatrix spring into action; They merge inside of the vortex. Flame WingMan soars out of the vortex and its flames align...)
- Cortez: Now, Flame WingMan-- let's kick it into high-gear!
- [Elemental Hero Flame Wingman 2100///]
- Cortez: WingMan, serve that Giant Germ some hot *soup*! Go, Fire Scorch!
- Drone: Not so fast!
- (Giant Germ started to pump like a heart and faster too; Flame WingMan strikes it, and destroys it, and suddenly a huge wind is blowing toward Cortez.)
- Cortez: What all this about?!
- Drone: Giant Germ's special ability is all about giving you a cold fever! When this card is destroyed in battle, you get hit for five hundred points of direct damage! After that, I get two more Giant Germs. (Two Giant Germs are summoned to his field in defense mode.)
- (Cortez's lifepoints decrease to 3500, he stays on one knee for a moment, thinking.)
- Cortez (think): Whoa! I know that power. Akiza's power is comparison for when *she* duels. But this guy's different somehow. (aloud) Since my WingMan destroyed your monster, you lose life points equal to his attack points!
- (Flame WingMan uses his fire blast to sent him a blaze, but doing so caused the ground, the surface to be ripped apart by the fire.)
- Cortez: Huh?
- (Behind the Drone, it looks like part of the glass of the stadium is missing. .)
- Cortez: Did my attack create real damage? Is that what this energy ring is about-- it makes battle damage real?
- Drone: Ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha hahmhmhmhm!
- Cortez: Okay, chuckles, I get it, you're gonna be like *that*.
- Drone: It's my turn now!
- (Scoreboard. Cortez, 4000, 2; Drone, 3000, 1.)
- I draw! First I'm activating the "Call of the Haunted" trap card-- this card lets me select one card from my graveyard, and summon it into attack mode-- so I'm bringing back Giant Germ!
- [Giant Germ 1000/100/L2/dark]
- Drone: With that, I release two of them to summon my level-ten Dark Tuner Misfit!
- [Dark Tuner Misfit 0//L10/]
- Cortez: What in the world is a *dark tuner*?!
- Drone: Well tell when I can show you! Now, Dark Tuner Misfit, use your power to extinguish the light by absorbing the energy of Giant Germ! Let the dark shadows rise!
- (Misfit dematerializes into its ten stars, as though starting a normal tuning, and they surround the remaining Giant Germ.)
- Drone: Hmhmhm! The shadows wield a power like nothing you've ever seen!
- (The eight stars plunge into Giant Germ's skin, and it appears to be stuffed or immobilized before changing to outlines. The stars combine with each other, vanish, and reappear as eight dark stars; the Giant Germ disappears.)
- Cortez: Why are the starts turning dark? What kind of synchro summoning is this!
- Drone: The light is being consumed by the shadows! Like when synchro users combine their monsters to make them more powerful, they feed off one another and absorb each other to create *negative* energy!
- Cortez: But negative energy is just a legend!
- Drone: Think again, Barian! Negative energy is *very* real! The monster I'm summoning is a negative level eight!
- Cortez: Oh boy!
- (Drone raises his arm, the eight dark stars swirling around him.)
- Drone: When the shadows are devoured by into darker shadows, the curtain pulls back and reveals-- a world without light! Come forth-- Void Ogre Dragon!
- [Void Ogre Dragon 3000//L-8/]
- Cortez: A dark synchro-summon! How do I battle that?!
- Drone: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....!
- Cortez: I've gotta figure out how to beat this shadow drone, or I'll never find out the truth!
- (To Be Continued…)
