  1. In the Realm of Ashlikar, Monster Tamers are a...strange and unique existance in that very few of them actually exist due to the fact they're...considered inferior to their counterparts. This is due to the fact that they are inherently connected with what's called either "The Scourge of Ashlikar" or "Adventure Administrators" depending on who you ask about, the Dungeon Masters. Most natural monster species in Ashlikar are fully sapient and are considered intelligent creatures on par with people (Depending on who you ask) and as such many do live in modern society alongside humans and other races. However, there still exist a multitude of natural monsters who are wild and feral and attack any living being in sight and as such adventurers became a common sight as a means to subjugate them but....the sapient monsters that lived in the world always said the feral monsters were different and for years, research was done to find out how they were different and where they came from. That is when the first dungeons were found and the existance of Dungeon Masters were discovered. Dungeon Masters were a special class born when a sapient species wandered into a nexus of magical energy and found a "Dungeon Core" at the center and in turn gained the ability to summon monsters bound to them and create dungeons. Many of the first Dungeon Masters were megalomaniacal sapient beings who only wanted to gain more power while there were a few that were found that just didn't understand their powers and were good people.

  3. Eventually it was found out that by destroying the dungeon core, you could collapse the dungeon and "Kill" the Dungeon Master, but in reality, the dungeon master would reform at the nexus of magic they found the core at and in exchange for some of their own life force, a new core could be created, an alternate way would be to kill the dungeon master, at which point the core becomes ownerless and the next person to touch it becomes the new dungeon master. Eventually, after years of persecution, a guild of Dungeon Masters were created which became known as a benevolent organization that helped adventurers grow stronger and provided quests and rewards as well as labor for nearby farmers and businesses. It took many years for the reputation of Dungeon Masters to be changed but after this they continued to be both feared and respected, both for the good and the bad.The greatest weakness of a dungeon master however is that they are bound to one location once they choose it and cannot change it until the core is destroyed or they die and they are limited to the selections of their monsters based on location and the level of power they're at.

  5. A Monster Tamer however is one of two existances above a Dungeon Master, a monster tamer is not only able to time wild and feral monsters that threaten others, but their core has evolved alongside them, allowing them to freely move from location to location with their dungeon and even access new categories of monsters and add them to the catalog of monsters they can summon by tapping into the energies of any new areas they find. Very few of them exist however due to the fact that they lack the ability to make more complex dungeons and have lesser mana than their counterpart. After Months or even years of training and gathering mana many choose instead to go with the alternate path, that of a dungeon overlord which gains far more maximum mana and gains advanced dungeon building powers and a larger catalogue of monsters with the ability to randomnly get new monsters when they summon and as such many choose to be overlords rather than Tamers.

  7. Still, there are some who choose the path of tamer despite it's lower mana and inability to build more complex dungeons due to the fact they enjoy a more nomadic lifestyle or just don't feel a need to stay and make complex dungeons in one place forever.
