  2. Despite the little bit of danger that had begun to creep over the Prism Realm recently, Isi wasn't scared. Well.. she wasn't that scared... If there was like, a chart of scared then she would probably be in the middle... maybe the middle top. But it still wasn't really that scared, and that was the part that mattered. The part that said she wasn't actually that scared truthfully. Probably.
  3.
  4. Nibbling on her lower lip, the little bright ball of sunshine walked in a wave of flower like perfume, the crown of chained flowers on her head still fresh enough to smell bright. Her eyes darted this way and that as she followed the path, a path she had taken many times, and before had never been quite so scary. She wasn' quite sure now where all this terror was coming from, no doubt just some kind of.. antiplacebo thanks to the rumors that were circulating around. People had been going missing in the woods. Didn't people always go missing in the woods? Maybe they wanted to go missing. Maybe they just needed a vacation?
  5.
  6. Her back stiffened as a howl sounded deep, but not deep enough for comfort. Usually the wolves stayed away from the path, simply because they knew the Arkaines used it. There was a delicate balance here, and for the most part she had respected it. Hunters tended to keep their hunting in a specific area, and wolves in another. Sometimes they crossed but... Paths were usually not one of the known battlegrounds. A hard swallow would be given as the little arkaina looked around, much like a deer in the headlights. There would be no doubt a wolf could very easily confuse her for prey right now. "H-Hello?" Smart. because wolves definitely spoke.
  7.
  8. Another howl sounded and with a titter of fright and a peep of 'no thank you', the young Arkaina would bolt towards the entrance to the forest, not even bothering to stick to the path this time. She was... 90% sure she knew the way.
  9.

  11. The grumpy ass male ark was trudging further into the woods, until he caught a whiff of something salt in the air. Sticking that large orange nose of his into the air, he took in a few more sniffs before he determined he was near an salty body of water some where, that or a salt mine. Regardless, he followed the scent as it got stronger.
  12.
  13. Breaking through the treeline, he found himself upon a beach, the sand was a familiar feeling beneath his paws. The foul mood that he was in before seemed to have melted away. "Finally some headway" he said aloud as he then began to scour the beach, seeing of there was a way for passage between here and possibly some where else.
  14.

  16. The smell of the ocean practically slammed Isi in the face, making her panic at the creatures chasing her immediately shit to a sort of miraculous... wonder? If one could even call it that. The hairs on the back of her neck slowly lowered, each one falling into place slowly but surely as she wheeled to a stop in front of the edge of the forest... and right in front of the beach. Confusion crossed those pretty little eyes as she stared out at the sands, taking a cautious step forward, as if she was in another world. She wasn't, of course. She knew where she was... but she also knew the path she'd been taking had been quite far away from the beach. Was it even possible for her to run that far in her fear frenzy?
  17.
  18. The wind whipped at her hair, giving it a nice dose of damp salt to curl the ends, making them fray with humidity. Salt made her blink a couple times, shying away from the sand that was picked up by the breeze and thrown towards her fur, catching in the unprotected longness that waved in the air. A voice crept across the beach, carried by the ever present gusts of the ocean. Ears turned on that pretty little head as she spied a jolly green giant, paws sinking into the sand. "Um... hello?"
  19.
  20. ຕᴏϙƖ09/16/2019
  21. Scouring the beach for not only a way to get out of here, but also to see if there was anything that he could use for food. he hadn't realized how hungry he was until he began to feel pangs in his stomach, as if it was eating itself. Grabbing a piece of driftwood, he began to poke at little holes that he saw in the retreating surf. Perhaps some shellfish would be on the menu. Practically drooping, he was eager to find some dinner.
  22.
  23. Just as he poked into one of the hole, water spraying back out at him, he hoped the thing would clamp down on the stick, just as he was about to push up, he heard a voice in the wind. Echoes? he thought to himself. Pushing down upon the stick, he found that he wasn't as lucky as he thought. Face wet from sea spray, he looked around him, to see where the source of the voice came from. Not far from him, he could see what looked like an Arkaina. Squinting hie golden hues, he tried to make out who it was. "Ahoy" he said in his low booming voice. what luck! Perhaps this was a local, someone who could assist him with getting off this beach and away from the forest. "Come, I was just finding lunch" he said, his voice cheery, despite having failed once.
  24.
  25. He pulled his stick from the hold and looked to the others, he needed a new tactic, maybe the Arkaina would know something.

  30. Isilya was fairly certainly she was looking upon some kind of ghost, or specter, at this point. The arkaine was searching the beach and poking sticks in holes with an almost child like wonder, and certainly not like anything she had experienced from the water-based tribes and cities before. Even the Solarites and Valonians were a little more adjusted than that. Her head tilted curiously as she watched Chopper, smiling just a bit until that low voice rolled like thunder across the beach, making her jump just a little in surprise. Because clearly she was a fierce warrior Goddess and everything, and definitely not a daydreaming cutie. Nope.
  31.
  32. As he big her forward, she could only smile just a little bit, perhaps just a tad awkward as she did. How did one politely explain that poking sticks into the sand wasn't a good way to get food around here? Instead, Isi just took a moment to observe the merle male, letting her eyes float across that mismatched pelt, seeking the glow of his lifethorn, and the shine of those crystals under the light. It wasn't a pattern she was familiar with, so she certainly couldn't say she'd seen him before.
  33.
  34. "Hello." she repeated, putting a pretty little smile on those lips as she stopped a comfortable distance from the male, letting the sea play with her hair still. "Are you... well um.. you're not a Solarite, or a Valonian, are you? I haven't.. .seen you before." Head would tilt to the side, adjusting that bag at her hip.
  35.

  39. A poor excuse of a hunter was he, this little man, as he haunched over the squirting calm holes. The stick that he had in hand ws covered in sand and salt water, even a little of the clam's guts when he did manage to poke one. Mismatched hues looked to her as she drew near him, a smile played upon his features. "OH good, perhaps you could assist me in this venture, Iam not a very good hunter or fisherman." his voice was dry as his humor, though he was rather awkward when speaking (VC: Jesse Eisenberg).
  40.
  41. "Ah where are my manners, greetings." he said, as she stood up, showing that full 6'3" height as he stuck out a dark hand, fingers painted black almost as if he was wearing a glove. "Oh no, I guess I am not. I am from Weolfe, so I guess I am Weolfian...if that is a thing, haha" oh poor boy, so awkward when trying to be social. This was a bad thing to have if he was to be a merchant.
  42.
  43. Sav-Savage10/02/2019
  44. "Weolfe?" The mention of the city, a foreign one to her, would have Isilya's head cocking in just a moment of curiosity. She hadn't particularly dared to press further beyond the mainland shores that faced Mooncrest Island, despite the bravery that she claimed to have, so she was about as lost as.. well. He was. She wouldn't have known which way to point him even if she wanted to, but luckily he was not in the business for asking directions. It would save them both a load of awkwardness.
  45.
  46. "So if you're not a very good hunter or fisher... how do you manage to survive out here?" It was an innocnetly amusing question, any bite that could have been present was immediately soothed away by that smiling expression across her face. She probably couldn't have meant offense even if she wanted to! As she waited for his answer she would wander towards the edge of the water, taking a moment to gaze across and over the waves that crashed to the shore. there more than likely wouldn't be any good fishing here, which would explain the arkaine's lack of success thus far. It was always harder to fish in the ocean, of course.
  47.
  48. ຕᴏϙƖ10/04/2019
  49. Nodded to her as she repeated the name of his village. "Yes, Weolfe, its a mighty fine village, and it has its own monster myth." at those last words, he beamed as he loved a good myth or legend. The look upon her face made him stop and ;look at her, she seemed off, as if bothered by something. Yet he couldn't figure out what it was. "Ma'am, are you ok, your face, it isn't smiling." he asked as he stood up, stick in hand, turning to face her. Concern spread across his features, even though he didn't know this Arkaina, he did care.
  50.
  51. "I sell my wares and get buy with what I can purchase. And for your information, I am a decent fisherman, hunting....not so much." he was at first defensive, but then embarrassment soon followed. He had left the hunting and fishing usually up to his best friend growing up cause that is what she enjoyed, so he indulged her pleasures. He watched how she did it, yet rarely he would put it into practice for himself.
  52.
  53. There was that smile! Finally he saw it, it made her look pretty, from what he observed. "Do you have a suggestion on how we can get these clams?" he asked her as he watched her walk over to the edge of the surf. Waves crashed against the sandy beach, lapping at its granular terrain.
  54.
  55. Sav-Savage10/09/2019
  56. Her face wasn't smiling? What a curious thing for him to say. Curious enough that Isi could only stand there, blinking in momentary confusion as she tried to process it. Had she not been smiling? She was... partially sure she had been. Ears flicked and brows drew together in moments of concern, temporary lost in her own thoughts about whether or not she had been smiling, before she would simply do just that- smile. A smile was cast towards him as she listened to his story, then offered a little laugh at his words.
  57.
  58. "Well.. then I suppose you would be better here. But.. I haven't seen many fish a round the shores. Not recently, anyway. More likely to find prey." she adjusted that bow over her shoulder as that long tail flicked, paws digging into the sand as she began to lead him down the shore. The wind continued to grab and knot at her hair, making it sandy and salty all at the same time. She was going to need a bath later.
  59.
  60. "I suppose we could dig them up, if we are lucky." She would pause by a small hole in the sand, only noticeable when the surf crashed up and over, then left a tiny little bubbling mess to clear out the hole. She reached down, poking lightly at the sand before turning those pretty eyes back at him, smiling a bit. "This usually means something's under there, be is crab or clam. Do you have anything to dig with?" Their hands, or even a stick, would work, but if it was a crab, she really didn't want her fingers to be the first thing it met.
  61.
  62. ຕᴏϙƖ10/11/2019
  63. Rubbed the back of his neck with a hand, he felt embarrassed that he hadn't noticed before that she had been smiling, then to call her out on it, god he felt like an idiot. The crystals upon his face, the freckle like ones, seemed to darken as he felt heat form upon his cheeks from the embarrassment. "I...I am sorry" he said softly ears wilting. He wasn't very good with the whole communcation thing, but he was working on it. Or at least he told himself that.
  64.
  65. He looked at her, watched her as she adjusted the bow that sat upon her shoulder, "C...could you teach me....to hunt at least. I feel like I would benefit from it." his voice fell soft as he didn't want to impose himself upon her, if she wasn't one to want to tell her secret hunting techniques. He looked to her, watching to see if she would accept or reject his request.
  66.
  67. As he watched her move to where he was poking the sand holes with his stick, he listened to her suggestions, "OH! We could dig for them!" he said excitedly as his tail wagged behind him, Getting down on hands and knees, he began to dig directly at the hole, forgetting already about her mention of crabs. As he dug, he felt something grasp at his finger, a cry of pain came from him as he pulled his hands away to find a rather pissed off looking crab attached to his forefinger. Tears fell down his face as he tried not to move too much in fear that it would make the pinching creature all the more angry.
  68.
  69. Sav-Savage10/29/2019
  70. Surprise crossed the little darlings face as she looked at the big male, looking as excited as a pup with his first prospect of hunting. Perhaps it was because she'd been raised amongst the Solarites, where hunting and gathering was a necessary skill, but she was a tad struck by the fact he just.. didn't seem to possess those skills. To be fair, of course, she wouldn't have possessed the skills of a merchant either. She had the bargaining power of a snail, which was not exactly a good thing considering the number of things she collected and then was forced to sell. She was probably getting swindled and didn't know it!
  71.
  72. She looked back to her bow first, addressing his question of hunting with al ittle bit of a smile on her lips. "Well.. I could." She began, looking towards him lightly. "But it.. might take some time... Hunting isn't just something you pick up easy. There's a lot to know. And a lot to practice. Unless you happen to just be a fantastic shot right off. In which case I might be a little upset." She would giggle at that, then nod a little bit- all until he appeared with a crab on his fingers, per her warning.
  73.
  74. Ope.
  75.
  76. "Careful, don't move." He was crying, wasn't he? In a very motherly way, Isi would soon appear at his side, withdrawing a dagger from her hip. With one swift motion, she would quickly disconnect the crab's leg from the rest of it's body, leaving the now one armed thing to flop to the ground, and her able to wiggle the claw off from it's cutting hold on the arkaine's fingers. "Well.. at least it wasn't a big one?" As if that would help.
  77.
  78. ຕᴏϙƖ11/06/2019
  79. Couldn't help but feel a smile break out over his face at what she said pertaining to his question about the hunting. "Well if I was a great shot coming out the gate, well we would both be shocked about it." It was thanks to this distracting answer on his part that he was pinched by the accursed little crab. As tears fell down his face, he was practically a blubbering baby about it. When she came closer to him, her soft words only soothed a little of him. The pain still throbbed in his finger.
  80.
  81. He had squeezed his eyes shut as soon as he saw her draw the knife, this was it. This is where be would now be known as the nine fingered merchant. Bracing himself for the slice of his life, he waited in vain. Huh, it didn't hurt as much as he expected, though when he opened his eyes, it wasn't he who received the amputation. A bodiless arm still clung to his finger, but it wasn't as painful as it was before. "Well would you look at that." he said as he then plucked the single clawed arm from his finger. He thought he was lucky, until she mentioned a big one. "They get bigger?!" he exclaimed in shock. Oh boy, he would have for sure lost a finger that way.
  82.

  86. Isilya could only offer him a pretty smile in reply, and a gentle, but soft, giggle as well. He really didn't know much about the creatures that wandered the prism realm, did he? In truth, she had her twin to think for a majority of her knowledge. The two of them were almost relentless in their curiosity, especially as pups. They'd done anything and everything together, intent to find out anything and everything they possibly could. Now, each twin had approximate knowledge of many things, and together they were a forced to be reckoned with about knowing almost everything about pretty much everything. Not that they would brag about it, of course.
  87.
  88. She held the wiggling thing, now armless, between two careful fingers, no doubt demonstrating how to properly hold the thing, and she shook her head lightly. "Of course they do. Most things get bigger in some way or another." She would turn the crab this way and that. "Normally you would eat their claws.. but we could still collect a couple of these to boil. It would be easier to teach than bowmanship." She was teasing, of course, and it would show in the shine of her eyes and the lilt of her voice. "Do you have a pot to boil them?"
  89.
  90. ຕᴏϙƖToday at 11:13 AM
  91. Chopper was crouched next to her as he watched her, rubbing his finger from where the crab had pinched him. "I know I seem like a fool who shouldn't be out here, but to be honest, I want to do things for myself, I want to learn how to provide better for when I am between my travels." he said with a somber voice. He looked to her and saw how she held the crab between her fingers, keeping then out of reach from the dangerous claws. As she spoke on how to also cook them, he felt his eyes sparkle at her. "Are you going to teach me how to hunt for sea critters and then cook em!" he was beaming like a child.
  92.
  93. When she asked about a pot, he felt himself straighten and then shrug his pack off his back. He rummaged through it only to find a tin bowl that he kept for when he made a hodgepodge soup of whatever he could find. It was mostly berries and vegetables. "I have this, it would it be big enough?" he asked her as he handed it over. "Oh perchance you wouldn't happen to have something that I could borrow as we go and collect more of these tasty little critters, would you, like a knife or something." he wasn't about to take his chances of getting pinched again.
  94.
  95. Sav-SavageToday at 11:22 AM
  96. Her face turned up towards him, muzzle parting the waves and curls that graced most of her head. In truth, she was at least 90% hair, especially when she was looking down. That long furred tail slowly wagged, moving in a lazy arc as she looked over him. He was so excited, so bright eyed and bushy tailed. It would have been impossible for that eagerness to not be contagious, and even if she hadn't decided to help him.. she had a feeling she would have after seeing that expression.
  97.
  98. "Sure. I'll show you." She had already giving him a little taste in the world of hunting for sea life, after all. Eyes gazed over the bowl, and she nodded a bit, digging a little pit into the sand and placing it within, only deep enough to really stabilize it. Without another word (and assuming he would follow), Isi would stand up and head towards a path of driftwood, yanking off a long strip of bark that she was able to bend. Returning to the pot (and most likely Chopper), she would show him how to bend the bark over the pot, making a rather secure little lid as it wrapped around.
  99.
  100. He'd ask for a weapon then, and she would blink for a second, glancing at the dagger in her hands. It wasn't anything special, a simple multipurpose tool, so she would offer it towards him without much protest, and a smile on that muzzle. "Here. Every hunter should have a knife. Use it to kill, skin, cut, and anything and everything else."
  101.
  102. ຕᴏϙƖToday at 12:25 PM
  103. Squealing with delight, Chopper was ecstatic and it took everything within him to not jump up for joy and prance around. He needed to be a focused and determined student if he was to learn how to hunt from this woman. As she took the bowl from him, he followed as she got up and moved to the drift wood log. He watched as she broke off apiece of it like it was nothing. Clearly this woman had some hidden strength about her and he was both impressed and terrified. Silently he followed her back to where they were and watched, studying how she bent the bark and shaped it to what she wanted. Impressed he gave a little clap. "I would have never thought about doing something like this at all. Shows how much I really know" he mumbled to himself towards the end.
  104.
  105. After he had asked for a weapon, he held it in his hand, it was heavy, but as he gripped the handle, it seemed to fit there just fine, it didn't feel awkward at all. Now the real question was, would he be able to use it. "You know its funny, I am more of a merchant than a hunter, but still, its good for me to learn a thing or two about hunting." he said softly as he got up and looked down at her, "Shall we then?"
  106.
  107. Sav-SavageToday at 12:37 PM
  108. "Don't hurt yourself." The words were a bit of an after thought, a singing high note in her brain reminding her of the fact that he probably.. had no idea how to really use that, did he? She believed in him, however, and knew that his eagerness was about half the battle when it came to learning these things! A smile crossed her face as he got familiar with it, following after her like a youngling might emulate a known hunter. She'd never really considered her skills worthwhile before, or even considered the fact she might be good at something someone else wasn't. A large majority of the tribe were much better than she, and she'd always been perhaps the weakest in the group. Regardless.. She found herself liking this. Liking being able to teach him, see that endless enthusiasm and willingness to learn and grow.
  109.
  110. Well heck. Did she want to be a teacher?
  111.
  112. "Alright. Let's go crab hunting!"
  113.
  114. ຕᴏϙƖToday at 2:29 PM
  115. Chopper looked at her with a grin, "I will try not to." he said as he followed her around the beach, hunting for crabs and other shelled creatures to add to their pot. As they troweled the beach, digging up clams and finding little crabs under rocks and crevasses, he finally got to see what a big one looked like. Sparkles in his eyes shown brightly against the gold and silver hues. "*WHoooooa! Isi look at this one!**" he said holding it in his hands. In his eagerness and excitement, he forgot the proper way to hold it and next thing he knew he was screaming in pain! The bigger ones pinched harder than the little ones and this one, got the meat on the blade of his left hand. Hopping from foot to foot, he dared not try and shake the thing off due to the fact he didn't want to feel the shots of pain, and he didn't think he could be as cool as Isi when shearing off the crab's arm to cause the pincer to release.
  116.
  117. Sav-SavageToday at 7:00 PM
  118. She was more than happy to show him exactly what to look for, her keen eyes catching sight of little bubbling holes that the crabs left for breathing, or the little round balls of sand they pushed out of their burrows. She would point each of those out to Chopper in turn, helping him learn to recognize the tell tale signs of seafood. It wasn't a skill she would have unless she'd been raised on an island, and frankly she was glad for it in that moment. Glad to be able to teach another how to catch their dinner.
  119.
  120. When he called to her she turned, excited for him, only to wince as she saw the crab, once more, claw down on his finger. Although she was sympathetic, she couldn't stop the gentle smile and giggle that rose to her muzzle, even as she quickly padded over to his side and reaches for his hand. "It's ok. Here. Like this." She wouldn't take the knife from him, and instead leaned close to direct it towards the junction of the crab, showing him where and how to cut while her tiny fingers rested over top of his much larger hand.
  121.
  122. ຕᴏϙƖToday at 8:00 PM
  123. Felt like he was on the verge of tears as the crab was determined to keep hold of his hand. Sniffling and looking like a big wuss, he did his best to put on a brave face for her. He was a man after all. As she strode close to him, rather than doing the work herself, she took his free hand that still held the knife and guided it towards the Crab's joint of its arm. In a smooth, but swift motion, she guided him on how to shear off the limb. One it was free, the pressure of the claw had ceased and he was able to shake it off his hand. There was a angry throbbing pain there, but it wasn't as bad as before. Thank Valone that his fur was dark and would not show a bruise.
  124.
  125. With the big crab in hand, he properly held it this time and dumped it into the bowl. "I look forward to eating you" he sneered at the creature, who was waving its one good claw at him, threateningly. The continued to search the beach for little bubbles to indicate where some prey may be. But soon they grew tired and saw that the bowl was almost over full. "Guess its time to start some cooking." he looked to her with a smile. Even with some mishaps, he was glad he got to learn how to hunt for crabs and clams upon the beach.
  126.
  127. Sav-SavageToday at 8:43 PM
  128. She couldn't help but feel bad for Chopper. Try as he might, he was destined to be pinched, so it appeared. She tried not to smile, she really did, but his range of emotions was infectious in a way that she couldn't really explain. He seemed so satisfied as she showed him how to disconnect the pincher from the crab, and reached to the sand to pick it up once he successfully trotted away with his prisoner in tow. Considering most of the meat came from those juicy little clampers, she wasn't about to let it slide! Plus, she had a feeling he would want to eat it in absolute retribution for his poor finger.
  129.
  130. She would chuckle as he announced it was near time to start cooking, a smile on her face. The two of them had collected quite a few, considering the amount of time they'd been looking, and the bull was nearly full with their successfully capture seafood. "I agree." She murmured in reply, then tilted her head towards him, reaching for the much large arkaine's hand. "Come here. Let me teach you how to make seafood stew."
