Cooking With Connor: Episode 1

Alexithymiaa: -Brad stood in the kitchen area getting all of his equipment set up to record Connor's first webisode of his cooking show. He had a tripod set up in front of the counter with his DSLR attached to the top, a few baags of equipment on the floor next to it. He crouched down, pulling smaller bags out of the sound bag, trying to get himself situated. // Evan was sitting aat the first table in the kitchen with his laptop open, typing away organizing everything for Brad to leaave for LA tomorrow for Jimmy Kimmel.-
Covet: Kelsey was looking at Connor making sure his hair looked nice, While Holly had gotten everything set up and put out so everything was prepared. "You look good kiddo. Do you know everything you need to say?" // Connor looked up at Kelsey, with a sigh, "Yes Momma, we practiced it yesterday, remember." // Holly smiled, "Yes we did and We're going to do good, Your mom was just making sure." She pushed the step stool over for Connor so that he'd actually be seen in the shot.

Alexithymiaa: -Brad pulled out a couple of lav microphones, turning and walking over to where they were all standing. "So these are little microphones. They'll help us make sure we have clean audio so editing isn't a nightmare for me. You just have to make sure that you don't touch it otherwise it's going to make fuzzy noises, okay?" He told both Connor and Holly. He leaned down in front of Connor, not being too concerned about touching him as he carefully looped the wire and clipped the microphone to the collar of his shirt, dropping the wire through his shirt and plugging it into a transmitter pack. "Here you go little man, put this in your pocket and don't sit on it." // Evan looked up from his work to watch them, smiling at Holly.-
Covet: Kelsey stepped back and watched the group getting ready. Watching Brad all professional like with Connor while getting him mic'd up. // Connor listened to Brad, "Okay ,I'll try not to touch it., or bump it." He said listening to him, as he looked at Brad putting the rest of the pack into his pocket. // Holly put her's on as well, making sure it was in a good spot, and put into her pocket.
Alexithymiaa: "Alright, we're all set here. Just give me a minute." He walked back over to his camera, turning the receiver for the mics on and plugging it into his camera, getting a few audio levels. "Alright, so get ready. Now I have a few things in mind so when I yell cut, I want you to freeze. Stop whatever you're doing like we're playing Red Light Green Light and when I say action, you pick right back up where you left off. Pretty easy, right?" He asked, quickly white balacing his camera and checking the framing. // Evan slid out of his seat, walking over to where Kelsey was standing and lowering his voice. "This is pretty exciting, isn't it?"-
Covet: Kelsey stood back making sure she was out of the shot, then gave Evan a smile, "It is, Connor's been super excited about this. He says it's one of his dreams." // Connor made his way up onto the step stool and smiled bouncing in place, he looked ahead at Brad waiting for the sign, but of course he couldn't just stand still, he was making faces while he waited. // Holly gave him a nudge and put her hands on the counter, showing him what to do.
Alexithymiaa: "Alright, perfect." Hovering over the camera screen, he hit record, pointing a finger at Connor. "Action." // "That's so cute. And it's sweet that Brad's helping him out with this. Maybe this cooking series will inspire him to become a chef in the future."-
Covet: "A future he wants to make happen sooner rather than later. He told Bradley and I he wants to be on MasterChef Junior." She said with a smile. // Connor Snapped to when Brad said action and gave a big smile. "Hi, I'm Connor, and this, is Cooking with Connor. This is my friend Miss Holly. She's going to be helping me today. Today, we're going to make a recipe I helped come up with, that my mom originally made, but I put my own spin on it." He said with a grin. " We made the sauce yesterday, and it's been warming up, but we'll make sure to put the recipe for the sauce in the description down there." He said pointing down. Clearly they'd been studying other youtube videos. // Holly stood there and smiled until Connor was finished then she spoke up, "We're going to be using kid friendly cutting utensils, and I'll be helping supervising him with the boiling water. When doing this at home, make sure to be safe and have a parents help when using sharp knives, or utensils."
Alexithymiaa: -Brad gave them both a thumbs up, putting his hand on the top of his giant lens to slowly push the plastic ring for a slow zoom in, tightening on the shot. He waved to them, signaling them to keep going. // "Between this show and your connections, I'm sure you could make that happen for him. When he's a little older, of course." Evan said with a nod.-
Covet: "Of course, that's if he lets me use those connections. He's been pretty independent about this whole thing. It definitely makes me proud." She said with a beaming grin. // Connor nodded as Holly spoke, then picked up after her. " So We're going to get started, today we are making Ravioli Parmesan ala Connor. We're going to use some strange things to make our ravioli, but I promise it works great. " He said putting his hands up, then pointed to the bowl that had the flower. "We're going to start making the pasta dough for our ravioli, using the well style. You start off with the amount of flour you want to make your dough. and you're going to put it into a pile, right on the table, and then make a little bowl in the top of the flour. // Holly was doing the same with him because they needed a top sheet and a bottom sheet. Then she grabbed the bowl that had a four eggs in it and helped break them while Connor explained what she was doing, so they didn't get any shells in their pasta.
Alexithymiaa: "Cut." He said, holding his hand up. "Stop, don't move." He stopped the recording and pulled the camera off the tripod, moving around the back of the counter with it and peering down over the top of Connor's head. He positioned the frame as a top down view, hitting record again. "Action." // "He must get a lot of that from y'all. He has such great role models to show him how it's done. You have every right to be proud."-
Covet: "Thank you, Evan. We've worked pretty hard to make sure he's been raised well." She said watching Brad move and they stopped and picked back up. // Connor waited almost putting his hand into the egg and flour mess. When Brad said action again he started putting his hands into the mess to get it mixed up. "Now You're going to mush the egg and the flour together, it's going to take a little bit, but soon your dough will form and you can keep pushing it together to make the ball, adding a little more flour if you need. // Holly did the same and added flour to their dough as they needed. "Now when this is done you're going to get a pot full of water and season it with some salt, to get it heating up and boiling for when we're done." Once their dough was needed they gave a bit of a pause so that they could was their hands and get the dough roller set up on the counter.
Alexithymiaa: -When they paused, Brad took the time to move back around to the front of the counter, sticking his camera back on top of his tripod. He stuck his hand into the air, flashing thhem a thumbs up to signal he was good to go. // "It shows." He said, folding his arms across his chest as he continued to watch, focusing a little more on Holly than Connor.-
Covet: Kelsey glimpsed out of the corner of her eye as to where Evan's attention was. She smiled as she watched them get reset again. // Connor shook his hands off from the water as he came back over to what they were doing. "Okay now we need to roll the pasta out. First you're going to roll it out a bit so it will fit into the roller. Then we're going to put it in here, and Miss Holly is going to turn it first because it's kind of hard to do for me." He said. // Holly helped get the dough rolled out and put into the roller to get it started. "How many times are we going to roll it through this time, buddy?" She asked him.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad slowly zoomed in on them with the roller since they didnt need such a wide shot for the focused rolling they were doing. // Evan swept his hand back through his hair, shifting on his feet before slowly walking over to his computer at the table so he could take a seat aand watch.-
Covet: Kelsey moved over to the table and sat down as well, still getting a good view of what was going on. // "Four times, because three was still pretty thick yesterday." He said then looked reached for the ice cube tray they had sitting at the counter with them. "This is what we're going to be using to put our fillings in. We're going to lay one layer of pasta over the ice cube tray, loosely, so that we can push it into the ice cube holes a little to make the pouch. // Holly finished one ball of dough and helped Connor lay it over the tray for Connor.
Alexithymiaa: "Cut!" Brad yelled, grabbing the camera and stepping up to the counter so he could point the camera directly down at their hands as they prepped the dough. "Action."-
Covet: Kelsey leaned over and watched them. // Connor stopped then started again, "Now we're going to put the fillings. We have some stuff we prepared yesterday, there's ricotta cheese, and some fine chopped spinach that we put in the food mixer thing. We have mini pepperonis and mozzerella cheese. We're going to put spinach and ricotta in those ones, and the peperoni and mozzerella in the bottom row." He said pointing to them as he took a spoon to put the spinach into the ricotta cheese to get it mixed up. We're going to put some garlic salt in here too, to help give the ricotta cheese some flavor, cause it's kind of boring without." He said explaining." // Holly got the other dough finished and layered it into a small pile for them to use later. Then she started mixing up the ricotta and spinach while Connor started putting the peperoni and cheese in the other holes.
Alexithymiaa: -He leaned in close to get a close up of just the scooping of the ingredients into the dough, already having it in his mind how he wanted to cut it together so he was shooting for that look. He lifted one hand, gesturing with it for Connor to continue talking.-
Covet: Once they got all of the ingredients into the ice cube tray, they started coving it with the other pasta. "We're going to lay it ong here, and pinch it around the sides and where the bumps that separate the ice." He said doing that. "Then we flip it over, and you can use a knife, but we got this cool little zig zag rolling blade that makes it look like ravioli." He said as he flipped the ice cube tray over. // Holly took the roller blade and helped Connor at this time to help cut the pasta in straight lines. "Once you have your pasta cut, then you'll need an adults help to get the ravioli put into the water. We're going to let them boil until they float. Which should be pretty quick." She said as Connor handed her the raviolis to put in the pot.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad slowly zoomed out and started backing away with the camera until he was standing next to the tripod. "Cut!" He yelled, running quickly to the other side of the counter to stand next to Holly so he could look down into the boiling water when she dropped the pasta in. "Action."-
Covet: "You have to make sure you doing boil the raviolis too long because they'll break open. He said watching over Holly's shoulder. "That one's floating, hurry take it out!." He said as more of them started popping up. They were getting them out with a pasta screen and putting them into a big bowl. "Now that it's all done, We've kept the sauce warm in the cock pot, to keep it simmering. It's really handy for things like that. We're going to pour some big ladlefuls over the pasta and then top it with LOTS of grated parmesan and some Parsely." He said as they did that. "And then, It's ready to serve. This is going to feed me, Miss Holly, and My Momma and Dad, and his friend Mr. Evan. It will feed a lot of people." He said. // Holly helped finish off the dish with Connor then spoke up, " If you're looking for any of the recipes we used, they'll be linked down below and posted to the show's twitter feed along with this video.
Alexithymiaa: "Cut." He yelled again, walking backwards to put the camera back on the tripod. "Alright, just do your sign off and we'll be good to eat." He said quickly because the kitchen smelled awesome right now. "Action."-
Covet: Connor waited until Brad had moved then he spoke up. "Please give us a thumbs up, and subscribe down below, if you liked this video, or if you'd like to see more delicious recipes, here ond Cooking with Connor." She said with a grin then waved at the Camera, Holly waved with him too as they both called out, "Thank you!" // Kelsey waited until Bradly said Cut, then cheered out for them, clapping and giving a woo.
Alexithymiaa: -He stopped the recording before he joined in the clapping, smiling widely at Connor. "That was so great! You looked so awesome doing your thing." He walked over and grabbed Connor to swing him into a hug. "I should probably grab your mics before we break them. They're expensive ya' know." // Evan clapped along with their little group, standing up in a sort of standing ovation. "Now the real question is. Do we get to eat the ravioli?"-
Alexithymiaa: (Evan is me.)
Covet: "Thanks, Dad. You did good too." He said with a grin as he went about helping take his mic off. // Holly got hers off as well then looked over at Evan, " Of course we do, what else are we going to do with all this ravioli?" She asked. // Kelsey had came over and started getting dishes out for everyone, but it was "Fancy china" aka, paper plates and plastic forks. Because screw cleaning up anymore than she was going to have to already tonight.

Alexithymiaa: -Brad took the mics and the packs from both of them, turning to walk over to his bad so he could get things put away. "Oh good, I'm hungry. And I'll probably be up all night because I want to start editing this for you." // "Uhh... you have to be up early tomorrow. You're traveling." Evan reminded him as he went about helping Kelsey get the table set for them to eat because he was really looking forward to this. "Does anyone want a drink?"-
Covet: "There's water, soda and juice in the fridge." Kelsey added, then looked at Brad, "We're going to bed early tonight, so that we can get you out of here to go to LA. Sorry, but it can wait until you get back. We can get it posted up by Sunday." Kelsey told Brad. // Connor went about bouncing around excited to eat the food that they'd made, as Holly picked it up and mvoed it to the table so that everyone could dig in.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad rolled his eyes, zipping up the audio bag and looking up to Kelsey as he broke down the camera equipment. "It's going to take me a good six or so hours to edit though. I don't know if I can have it done by Sunday if I don't get started right away." He walked over to the table, dropping into a chair to start dishing up ravioli. // Evan grabbed the water and the juice, figuring it was too late for soda and brought everything over to the table so everyone could pick their own beverages. "This looks amazing. Y'all did such a great job. Thank you for sharing with everyone."-
Covet: "It will be fine. You need sleep for tomorrow." She told him with a more serious tone. "You'll have all weekend to work on it. Tomorrow is more important right now" // Connor sat down and looked at Brad, "Don't for get me, please. He said to him // Holly smiled and sat next to Evan around the table, since she figured that Kelsey and Brad would sit next to each other with Connor. "Thank you for coming to watch. Don't forget to share it when it gets posted." She said with a smile at him.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad rolled his eyes, digging into his ravioli. "I'll be fine tomorrow. Evan already drilled me about the talking points Nancy sent over." // Evan smiled as he aalso dug into his food. "I only did it because she practically threatened my life if I didn't."-
Covet: "Sounds like Nancy." Kelsey said, "But that's probably for the best." She said to Evan, then looked at Brad. "I'll let you have 2 hours tonight, but then it's time for bed." She told him as she started to eat as well. "Mmm, this is really good Kiddo, maybe even better than mine. // "I hope so, I tried to think how I could make it better, Grandma was the one who said I should add the garlic salt to the spinach ones. She also said you wouldn't remember to tell me to put that in." Connor said to Kelsey. // Holly nodded her head, "Yes, I was there for that conversation. Your mom was rather candid and excited to see the video once we got it posted. "
Alexithymiaa: "Well we're going to send her the video personally when it's done, aren't we?' Brad said as he shoved more ravioli into his mouth. "Also, I'm not on clean up since I have work to do. Not it!" He called out aas he stood up from the table, taking it now empty plate into the kitchen to throw away. // Evan rolled his eyes. "I'll help clean up. It's the least I can do since I didnt help with the video at all and still got to eat your delicious meal." He made eyes at Holly, standing up to clear his plate away as well before getting started on the kitchen.-
Covet: "I'd ask you to not worry about it, but since you offered that would be nice, Then I could get Connor into bed. Not much to clean up, just the prep dishes and the counter from all the flour." She said then looked at Brad giving him a nudge, that could only be eluded to them getting out of Holly and Evan's hair. // Connor gave a yawn, "But I'm not tired yet.....Well not that tired." // Holly smiled looking back at Evan, "I'll help you clean up, I know where things go and with two of us it will get done quickly.
Alexithymiaa: "You're tired." Brad said very fucking quickly, snatching Connor up out of his chair and throwing him over his shoulder. "Time for bed. Right now." He was basically power walking down the hallway trying to get Connor out of there to leave the two of them alone because he could at least respect the fact that they don't have the opportunity for alone time very often. // "Oh, that would be nice." Evan said to Holly with a smile, grabbing a sponge and beginning to wipe down the counter with her, making all the eyes.-
Covet: Kelsey followed along with Brad, trying not to giggle because stupid girly things as they hurried out of the room.
