  35. Most reductions are more important for you to understand than to produce. If you pronounce your words equally carefully (but still with the correct stress and rhythm), we will understand you.
  36. HOWEVER, If you pronounce “can” (in affirmative sentences) with too much stress, many people will hear “can’t”, even if you didn’t pronounce any /t/. (We don’t as many other clues to tell the difference except for stress.)
