Dr. Umon: It’s good to see you again, Banjo.

万丈
「お久しぶりです、宇門博士。
急な頼みを聞き入れていただき、
ありがとうございます」
Banjo: It’s been too long, Dr. Umon. I have to thank you for agreeing to this sudden request.

万丈
「僕のダイターンを隠せる民間施設となると、
数が限られていますからね」
Banjo: There’re a scarce few number of private facilities I can hide my Daitarn in.

宇門博士
「そうだろうな。あれの調子はどうかね?」
Dr. Umon: I can imagine. I trust it hasn’t had any problems operating?

万丈
「今のところ、問題はありません。
ところで、この辺りは被害を受けていないようですね」
Banjo: None for the moment. By the way, I noticed this area doesn’t appear to have suffered much damage.

宇門博士
「その通りだが、麓の方には
関東地方から逃げてきた人々が大勢いてね…
今が非常事態だということを痛感しているよ」
Dr. Umon: It’s just as you say, though at the foot of the mountain, you can see that a great deal of people have fled from the Kanto Region... I’m well aware that we are currently in a state of emergency.

万丈
「僕は…出遅れました」
Banjo: I...wasn’t fast enough.

宇門博士
「君の過去を詮索する気はないが…
事前に知っていたとしても、単独での対処は
不可能だろう。相手は国なのだから」
Dr. Umon: I don’t mean to inquire into your past... But even had you known, dealing with them singlehandedly would be impossible. The enemy is an entire empire.

万丈
「もっと前に然るべき手を打っておくべきでした」
Banjo: Still, I should have taken proper precautions a long time ago.

宇門博士
「…何にせよ、
君たちがしばらくここに滞在するつもりなら、
遠慮をする必要はない」
Dr. Umon: ...At any rate, if you and your company wish to stay here for a while, please do not restrain yourselves.

万丈
「いえ、用が済めば立ち去ります」
Banjo: No, once we’ve finished our business, we’ll be on our way.

宇門博士
「なら、同行の方々には私の知り合いが管理している
近くの牧場で休んでもらうといい」
Dr. Umon: Then you can at least have the people accompanying you rest at a ranch run by an acquaintance of mine.

万丈
(ここから先、そういう機会はなさそうか…)
Banjo: (It doesn’t seem likely that we’ll get another opportunity for rest in the future...)

万丈
「わかりました。お言葉に甘えさせていただきます」
Banjo: If you insist. I’ll take you up on your kind offer.

ユニス
「万丈さん、あたしは…」
Eunice: Banjo, I...

万丈
「ああ、僕と君はここに残って例の話を」
Banjo: Right, you and I will remain here to talk about that matter from before.

宇門博士
「…大介、
他の皆さんをシラカバ牧場へ案内してくれ」
Dr. Umon: ...Daisuke, please show everyone else to the Birch Ranch.

大介
「わかりました、父さん」
Daisuke: Of course, father.

万丈
「…博士にご子息がおられたとは」
Banjo: ...I wasn’t aware you had a son, Doctor.

宇門博士
「ああ、自慢の息子でね」
Dr. Umon: Yes, I’m very proud to have him.

万丈
「そう…ですか」
Banjo: I...see.

「わあ、牛や馬がたくさんいるよ!」
Toppo: Woah, look at all the cows and horses!

ビューティ
「当たり前でしょ、牧場だもの」
Beauty: Well this is a ranch, after all.

「これが…」
Seylum: This is...

(…珍しいってわけね)
Rayet: (...A rare sight.)

カーム
「ここを見てると、
日本がえらいことになってるのを忘れそうだぜ…」
Calm: Seeing things here, I kind of forget how messed up Japan is right now...

ニーナ
「そうね…」
Nina: Yeah...

耶賀賴
「この辺りは[ヘブンズ・フォール]の影響も
あまり受けていなさそうだな」
Yagarai: I suppose [Heaven’s Fall] didn’t leave much of an impact on this particular area.

大介
「…ええ」
Daisuke: ...That’s correct.

ひかる
「大介さん、そちらの方々は?」
Hikaru: Daisuke, are these people with you?

大介
「ああ、研究所に来たお客さんだよ」
Daisuke: Yes, they’re visitors that came to the lab.

ひかる
「あら、そうだったの。
あたしは牧葉ひかる…大介さんと一緒に
この牧場で働いています」
Hikaru: Ah, I see. I am Hikaru Makiba. I work at this ranch together with Daisuke.

ユキ
「宇門博士のご厚意で
お邪魔させてもらってます。
のどかで素敵な所ですね」
Yuki: It almost feels like we’re taking advantage of Dr. Umon’s kindness. This place is just so tranquil.

セラム
「これほどの自然…
やはり、地球は本当に素晴らしい星です」
Seylum: So much nature... The Earth truly is as marvelous a planet as I’d expected.

伊奈帆
(セラムさん…)
Inaho: (Seylum...)

トッポ
「変なこと言ってらあ。
ずっと地球に住んでるのにさ」
Toppo: That’s a weird thing to say for someone living on Earth this whole time.

エデルリッゾ
「改めてそう思われ…いえ、思ったということです」
Eddelrittuo: It’s just what she thinks anytime she sees it—I mean, what she used to think!

トッポ
「どうして君が説明すんのさ?」
Toppo: Why are you the one explaining?

大介
「大自然の素晴らしさを素直に受け止められる…
とても大切なことだ」
Daisuke: Being able to take in the splendor of nature is something very important.

大介
(そう…傷ついているとはいえ、
この緑の大地が、青い地球がどれほど尊いか…)
Daisuke: (Yes... Though it may be scarred, this green land, this blue Earth, is truly precious...)

大介
(なのに、どうしてヴァース帝国は
この星に戦火を広げようとするのか…)
Daisuke: (And yet, the Vers Empire would spread the destruction of war across the planet...)

「どうしたの、大介さん?」
Hikaru: What’s wrong, Daisuke?

大介
「…彼女たちを見ていたら、
俺はこの緑の大地を愛するひとりの男、
宇門大介なんだと思ってね」
Daisuke: ...When I look at her and her friends, I wonder if I’m really Daisuke Umon, just a man who loves this green land.

ひかる
「何よ、改まっちゃって」
Hikaru: What do you mean by that?

大介
「それより、ひかるさん…
みんなに新鮮な牛乳を振る舞おう」
Daisuke: Anyways, Hikaru, let’s treat everyone to some fresh milk.

韻子
「わあ、嬉しい!」
Inko: Oh, I’d love that!

トッポ
「やっぱ、牧場に来たら牛乳を飲まなくっちゃね!」
Toppo: Yeah, you gotta drink the milk if you’re coming to a ranch!

ひかる
「じゃ、すぐに用意するわ」
Hikaru: Well then, I’ll get it ready right away.

(Hikaru begins milking a cow.)

エデルリッゾ
「あの、それは…
ちゃんと然るべき処理をされた物なのでしょうか?」
Eddelrittuo: Um, is that... Is that really how you’re supposed to do it?

ひかる
「ええ、もちろん」
Hikaru: Yes, of course.

エデルリッゾ
「念のため、事前に私が確認を…」
Eddelrittuo: Just to be safe, I should check it beforehand...

セラム
「いいのです、エデルリッゾ。
皆さんと同じ物をいただきます」
Seylum: It’s fine, Eddelrittuo. I’ll have the same as everyone else.

宇門博士
「…私は、ユニス君から提供されたデータに
心当たりがある」
Dr. Umon: ...I have an idea based on the data Eunice provided.

ユニス
「えっ!? 本当ですか!?」
Eunice: Huh!? Really!?

宇門博士
「ああ。ヴァース帝国が地球侵攻を開始する直前、
別の観測所から異常現象に関する問い合わせが
あってね…」
Dr. Umon: Yes. Just before the Vers Empire began its invasion, another observatory was investigating an anomaly...

宇門博士
「その際、送られてきたデータと酷似しているのだ」
Dr. Umon: The data from that is strikingly similar to what you’ve provided me with now.

万丈
「つまり…時空跳躍によって、何者かが
この世界に現れた可能性があると?」
Banjo: So what you’re saying... Is that it’s possible someone else appeared in this world thanks to that space-time anomaly?

宇門博士
「うむ」
Dr. Umon: Precisely.

万丈
「思っていた以上の手掛かりだ…
ここへ来た甲斐がありましたよ」
Banjo: That’s a better lead than I was expecting... Coming here was definitely worth it.

ユニス
「博士! どこで、何が出て来たんですか!?」
Eunice: Doctor! Where was it and what came out of it!?

宇門博士
「場所は青森の恐山上空だが…
それ以外のことは不明だ」
Dr. Umon: The location was over the skies of Mt. Osore, in Aomori... Anymore than that I do not know.

宇門博士
「直後にヴァース帝国が侵攻してきたこともあり、
観測所と連絡が取れなくなってしまったのでね」
Dr. Umon: Immediately following the Vers Empire’s invasion, I have been unable to get in touch with that observatory again.

ユニス
「そ、そうですか…」
Eunice: I-I see...

万丈
「もし、何かが現れたのだとしたら、
それは君の仲間か、謎の巨人か…」
Banjo: If something did appear, it could be one of your friends, one of those mysterious titans...

万丈
「あるいは、全く別の物か」
Banjo: Or it could be something else entirely.

(An alarm goes off.)

ユニス
「!?」
Eunice: !?

万丈
「宇門博士、警報ですか?」
Banjo: Is that an alarm, Dr. Umon?

宇門博士
「うむ。高空からこの辺りに向かって
多数の物体が降下してくるようだ」
Dr. Umon: Yes. It would appear there are a large number of objects descending from high altitude.

ユニス
「もしかして、ヴァース帝国…!」
Eunice: It could be the Vers Empire...!

万丈
「もう嗅ぎつけられたか。
博士、僕はダイターンで出ます」
Banjo: They’ve already sniffed us out then. Doctor, I’ll head out in Daitarn.

ユニス
「あたしも行きます!」
Eunice: I’m going too!

宇門博士
「我々は付近の住民を避難させよう。
万丈君、ユニス君、くれぐれも気を付けてくれたまえ」
Dr. Umon: The others and I will focus on evacuating the area. Banjo, Eunice, please be careful.

万丈
「わかりました」
Banjo: Understood.


第5話
『ああ! わが大地みどりなりき』
Episode 5
Ah! How Green Our Land Is


(Scene begins on the map screen of a green mountain range. Banjo and Eunice appear.)

ユニス
「万丈さん、セラムたちは宇宙科学研究所へ
避難しました。ユキさんと伊奈帆、韻子は
機乗してもうすぐここに来ます」
Eunice: Banjo, Seylum and the others are being evacuated to the Space Science Lab. Yuki, Inaho, and Inko will be here soon with their machines.

万丈
「だが、第一波には間に合わないな。
もし連中が敵ならば、僕たちで対応しよう」
Banjo: But they won’t make it in time for the first wave. If they turn out to be enemies, we’ll have to deal with them.

ユニス
「はい!」
Eunice: Right!

万丈
「…来るぞ」
Banjo: ...Here they come.

(Enemy flying saucers appear.)

ユニス
「あれって、UFO…?」
Eunice: Are those UFOs...?

万丈
「見たことがないタイプ…まさに未確認飛行物体だね」
Banjo: It’s not any kind of machine I’ve ever seen before... But it’s certainly an unidentified flying object.

ユニス
「ヴァース帝国や[メガノイド]の兵器じゃないんですか?」
Eunice: So it isn’t a Vers Empire or [Meganoid] weapon?

万丈
「ああ。特にあいつは…」
Banjo: Right. Especially not that one...

(Saucer Beast Girugiru appears.)

ユニス
「か、怪獣!?」
Eunice: A-a giant monster!?

万丈
「コマンダーが巨大化したメガボーグじゃない。
そして、火星のカタフラクトでもない」
Banjo: It’s not a Megaborg Commander turned giant. And it’s not a Martian Kataprakt either.

(The enemies fire on Banjo and Eunice.)

ユニス
「くううっ!」
Eunice: Agh!

万丈
「あいつらは、未知の敵だ!」
Banjo: I’d say that makes them unknown enemies!

(Battle 1 begins.)

(This line triggers if Eunice battles an enemy.)

ユニス
「時空跳躍の手掛かりを掴めたんだ…!
こんな所でやられるもんか!」
Eunice: I’ve finally got a clue on space-time leaps...! You’re not taking me down now!

(This line triggers if Banjo battles an enemy.)

万丈
「何者か知らないが、攻撃してくるのなら
この破嵐万丈、容赦はせんぞ!」
Banjo: I don’t know who you are, but if you’re going to attack, then Banjo Haran will show you no mercy!

(Battle 1 ends when Saucer Beast Girugiru is defeated. It doesn’t explode or leave the map.)

ユニス
「!?
あの怪獣、やっつけたのに!」
Eunice: !?  Didn’t we just beat down that giant monster!?

万丈
「まだ動くか。なかなかしぶといね」
Eunice: And yet it’s still moving. Tenacious, isn’t it?

宇門博士
「万丈君、新たな敵機がそちらへ向かっている!
警戒してくれたまえ!」
Dr. Umon: Banjo, new enemy units are headed your way! Remain vigilant!

万丈
「わかりました」
Banjo: Understood.

万丈
(彼らがこんな山中に現れた理由はなんだ?
僕とユニスは出て来たから
襲われただけだろうが…)
Banjo: (What’s they’re reason for showing up in these mountains? Eunice and I were only attacked because we came out...)

万丈
(狙いは宇宙科学研究所なのか?)
Banjo: (Could their target be the Space Science Laboratory?)


シラカバ牧場
Birch Ranch


ひかる
「大介さん、何をしているの!?
私たちも早く逃げましょう!」
Hikaru: Daisuke, what are you doing!? We need to get out of here, quickly!

大介
「………」
Daisuke: ...

ひかる
「大介さん!」
Hikaru: Daisuke!

大介
(俺が地球へ…この地へ
辿り着いたことは知られていたのか…)
Daisuke: (Did they know I came to Earth...? That I came here...?)

大介
(あれから、かなりの時間が経った…。
その間に奴らは地球侵略の準備を…)
Daisuke: (It’s been a long time since then. And they’ve been using that time to prepare to invade Earth...)

ひかる
「どうしたの、大介さん!」
Hikaru: What’s wrong, Daisuke!?

大介
(俺はただ、平凡な地球人として
平和な生活を送りたいだけだった…)
Daisuke: (All I wanted was to live my life peacefully as an ordinary Earthling...)

大介
(だが、現実は…。
俺は戦うしかないのか、あれに乗って…)
Daisuke: (But the truth... Is that I was always going to have to fight. To pilot it again...)

大介
(いくらもがいてみても、
宿命から逃れることはできないのか…!)
Daisuke: (No matter how much I struggle, there’s no escaping my fate...!)

ひかる
「大介さん、大丈夫よ…!
万丈さんや伊奈帆さんたちが
きっとなんとかしてくれるわ」
Hikaru: Daisuke, it’s fine...! Banjo, Inaho, and the others will surely take care of them!

大介
「!」
Daisuke: !

ひかる
「だから、私たちは私たちに
できることをやりましょう」
Hikaru: That’s why we should just worry about doing what we can to help!

大介
(そうだ…万丈さんや伊奈帆君たちは、
自分の星を守るために戦っている…)
Daisuke: (That’s right... Banjo, Inaho, and the others are doing everything they can to protect their planet...)

大介
(なのに、俺は戦いを恐れて、ただじっと…。
情けない…!)
Daisuke: (But all I’ve done is stand here, afraid... It’s pathetic...!)

大介
「ひかるさん、俺は父さんの所へ行く!
君は牧場の人たちを避難させてくれ!」
Daisuke: Hikaru, I’m going to my father! You get everyone on the ranch to safety!

ひかる
「わ、わかったわ!」
Hikaru: G-Got it!

宇門博士
(円盤形の兵器、そして怪獣型の戦闘ロボット…
彼らは大介が言っていた…)
Dr. Umon: (Saucer shaped weapons and giant monster robots... They must be the ones Daisuke spoke of...)

大介
「父さん、奴らは[ベガ星連合軍]です!」
Daisuke: Father, they’re with the [Vegan Empire]!

宇門博士
「やはり、そうか…!」
Dr. Umon: Then it’s just as I thought...!

大介
「僕の故郷、フリード星と同じように
この地球を侵略するつもりでしょう」
Daisuke: They’re going to invade Earth just as they did for my home planet, Fleed!

大介
「だから、僕はそれを阻止するために戦います」
Daisuke: That’s why I’ll fight to put a stop to them!

宇門博士
「しかし大介、お前は…!」
Dr. Umon: But Daisuke, you...!

大介
「既に決心しました。あれを出します」
Daisuke: I’ve already made up my mind. I’m taking it out there.

宇門博士
「…お前はもう私の息子、宇門大介だ。
できることなら、私はお前にひとりの地球人として
平和な日々を送らせてやりたかった」
Dr. Umon: ...You are my son, Daisuke Umon. If I could, I would have gladly let you live your days in peace as a simple Earthling.

大介
「父さん…」
Daisuke: Father...

宇門博士
「もはや私にお前の宿命を変える力はない。
だが、必ず無事に帰ってくるのだ。
この緑の大地に…」
Dr. Umon: I no longer have the power to alter your destiny. But even still, you must return alive. To this green land...

大介
「はい!」
Daisuke: I will!


(Scene changes back to the map screen of the mountains. Banjo and Eunice are surrounded by more enemies.)


万丈
「さあて、第2ラウンドだな」
Banjo: Now then, time for round two.

ユニス
「万丈さん、伊奈帆たちが来ました!」
Eunice: Banjo, Inaho and the others are here!

(Inaho appears.)

伊奈帆
「…敵はヴァース帝国や
メガノイドじゃないみたいですね」
Inaho: ...The enemies don’t appear to be with the Vers Empire or Meganoids.

万丈
「ああ、UFOだけに異星人かもしれない」
Banjo: Yes, I can’t imagine these UFOs could be anything other than aliens.

(Several UFOs appear.)

ユニス
「ま、またUFOが来ます!」
Eunice: M-More UFOs are here!

万丈
「次から次へと…こっちを消耗させる気か」
Banjo: They just keep coming... We’re going to exhaust ourselves at this rate.

ユニス
「この調子でどんどん現れたら、
さすがにまずい…!」
Eunice: It’s gonna be bad news for us if they keep showing up like this...!

伊奈帆
「敵の本当の狙いが判明すれば、
やりようはあるけど」
Inaho: If we can discern what the enemy’s true objective is, we might have a shot.

???
「奴らの狙いはわかっている…」
???: I know what they’re after...

???
「グレンダイザー! ゴーッ!」
???: GRENDIZER! GOOOO!

(Duke Fleed appears in Grendizer.)

デューク
「ベガ星連合軍!
俺はもう逃げも隠れもしない!」
Duke: Vegan Empire! I will no longer run or hide!

ユニス
「万丈さん、あのロボットは何ですか!?」
Eunice: Banjo, what’s that robot!?

万丈
「僕にはわからないな」
Banjo: I have no idea.

伊奈帆
「上空から降りて来たわけじゃない。
となると…」
Inaho: It didn’t come from the sky. Which means...

デューク
「ダイザービーム!」
Duke: DIZER BEAM!

(Duke destroys the reinforcement UFOs.)

ユニス
「あっ、UFOが!」
Eunice: Whoa, he took out the UFOs!

万丈
「どうやら、味方らしいね」
Banjo: Seems he’s on our side then.

デューク
「そうだ。俺の名はデューク・フリード…
このグレンダイザーで君たちと共に戦おう」
Duke: That’s right. My name is Duke Fleed. I’ll fight alongside you with Grendizer.

ユニス
「グレンダイザー…!?」
Eunice: Gendizer...!?

伊奈帆
(今の声、もしかして…)
Inaho: (That voice just now might belong to...)

宇門博士
「諸君、グレンダイザーは心強い味方だ。
力を合わせて敵を撃退してくれたまえ」
Dr. Umon: Everyone, Grendizer is a reliable ally. I urge you all to cooperate and repel the enemy together.

万丈
「あれが何なのかご存じなんですね、博士。
後で説明をお願いしますよ?」
Banjo: You seem to know about it, Doctor. Can I ask to hear the full story afterwards?

宇門博士
「無論だ」
Dr. Umon: Of course.

デューク
「この緑の大地を、美しい地球を
奴らの魔の手に触れさせはしない!」
Duke: I will not let these green lands, this beautiful Earth, fall into their evil clutches!

デューク
「この生命尽きるとも、必ず守ってみせる!
我が第二の故郷を!」
Duke: Even should it cost me my life, I will protect it! I will protect my second home!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(This line triggers if Duke Fleed battles an enemy.)

デューク
「そんな物でグレンダイザーを
止められると思うな!」
Duke: Don’t think for a second that these things could ever hope to stop Grendizer!

(Battle 2 ends when all enemies are defeated.)

伊奈帆
「…周辺に敵影なし」
Inaho: ...No sign of hostiles in the vicinity.

万丈
「やれやれ、思いがけない展開だったよ。
宇門博士の所にあんなロボットがあったなんてね」
Banjo: Well, that was an unexpected development. I didn’t know Dr. Umon had a robot like that lying around.

ユニス
「あの、さっきの敵はいったい…」
Eunice: Uh, so who were the enemy just now?

デューク
「彼らはベガ星連合軍だ」
Duke: They are the Vegan Empire.

万丈
「ベガ星…?
なら、本当に異星人だったのか」
Banjo: Vegan...? Then they really were aliens.

伊奈帆
「それを知るあなたもそうなんじゃないですか、
大介さん?」
Inaho: And how do you know that, Daisuke?

デューク
「…話は宇宙科学研究所へ戻ってからだ、
伊奈帆君」
Duke: ...I’ll explain once we return to the Space Science Lab, Inaho.

トッポ
「大介兄ちゃんって、宇宙人の王子様なの!?」
Toppo: You mean Daisuke is an alien prince!?

大介
「そうだ」
Daisuke: That’s right.

カーム
「王子とか王女とか、
そう簡単に会えるものじゃないと思ってたけど…」
Calm: And here I thought it was hard to meet people like princes and princesses...

エデルリッゾ
「え、ええ」
Eddelrittuo: Y-Yes...

カーム
「まさか異星人の王子とはね。
レア度が高すぎるぜ」
Calm: But seriously, an alien prince? That’s just too much.

セラム
「大介さんは、どうして地球に…?」
Seylum: Daisuke, how did you get to Earth...?

大介
「ベガ星雲にある俺の故郷、フリード星は
科学が発達した平和な星だった」
Daisuke: My home world is Planet Fleed, in the Vega Galaxy. It was a peaceful, scientifically advanced planet.

大介
「ところが…ある日突然、ベガ星雲の完全征服を
目論む恐星大王ベガが連合軍を押し立て、
フリード星に襲来した」
Daisuke: But... One day, the terrifying King Vega decided to completely conquer the Vega Galaxy with his empire, and invaded Planet Fleed.

大介
「罪もない人々が次々に殺され、
緑の大地を非情の炎が焼き尽くした」
Daisuke: Innocent people were killed one after the other and our green lands were scorched mercilessly.

大介
「そして、燃え落ちる王宮の中で
父と母は最期を迎え、俺はフリード星の守り神、
グレンダイザーで脱出し…」
Daisuke: And while my father and mother met their ends as the royal palace was engulfed in flame, I escaped with Planet Fleed’s Guardian God, Grendizer.

大介
「やがて青く輝く美しい星に辿り着いた。
それが地球だった」
Daisuke: Eventually, I arrived at a beautiful sparkling blue planet. That was Earth.

宇門博士
「私はたまたま不時着したグレンダイザーと
半死半生のデューク・フリードを発見した」
Dr. Umon: I just happened to discover the crash landed Grendizer and Duke Fleed within, half-dead.

宇門博士
「それが私と彼と不思議な運命の糸で
結ばれた出会いだったのだ」
Dr. Umon: That was when our fates became miraculously bound together.

トッポ
「だったら、最初からグレンダイザーを
出してくれれば良かったのに」
Toppo: In that case, why didn’t you bring out Grendizer before now?

万丈
「トッポ、事情を知らずに
そんなことを言っちゃいけない」
Banjo: Toppo, don’t say things like that without being aware of the circumstances.

大介
「いや…俺は再びグレンダイザーに乗って
ベガ星連合軍と戦うことを恐れていた」
