  1. *Back Story*
  2. Cold, and hunger, and pain. That is what The Land of the Linnorm Kings offers to the weak. For those of us who are born there it is a test from the gods. One we live everyday. That is what my parents taught me when I was a boy. A lesson I learned well. I passed every test of my test. I excelled in everything expected of my clan. Swimming in frost-bitten rivers, chasing elk across the tundra, climbing cliffs and glaciers with the other boys. Every day was a challenge that I reveled in. On my 14th nameday I finally got to undertake the trial to become a man. A full member of the clan. 5 days in the wild with only a knife. Survive and find my way home, and I pass. Fail, and my bones become part of the land. A fitting end for one too weak to survive here. That was the week everything changed.

  4. On the 4th day I crested the hill to see my village in ruins. Homes crushed, frost covering over what should have been roaring fires. My triumphant return was cut short by a raid from Irrisen. Before I could run to join my family and fight, I was snatched up and held by an ice troll. The chill of its rough skin burning even through the furs I was wearing. The last memory I have of my parents is watching my mother with an Axe in her hand, blood streaming down her face going toe to toe with a troll. I will never dishonor that memory.

  6. The next 4 years are a blur of pain and torture. One of the thrice-cursed withches saw something in me. Something in my blood that she wanted to draw out. To experiment with. Cuts and burns, torture bringing me to the brink of death, then foul potions forced down my throat. Forcing me back into my body, forcing me to live. But it worked. Something was awakened in me. I grew stronger every day. Harder to kill. And something echoes inside. I call on that pain and anger. I let it flow through me, and something deep inside answers that call, just waiting to come out.

  8. 4 years, and I was just starting to learn to control the rage, when a raiding party from Trollheim smashed through the witch's defenses. That was the distraction I needed. She was not ready for their assault and in her haste left my bonds too loose. This time when the rage came, so did what is inside me. My fingers hardened to claws, and I shredded the bonds before tearing out the witches throat.

  10. That was 2 years ago. I can call the rage whenever I want. And it no longer consumes and rules me. But still something lurks under the surface of the anger. There are no answers for me here, so I head south to warmer lands that have more time for learning these things. I will learn what it is that I am, and what it is that I can do. When I am ready I will return home, hunt and slay a linnorm as is the custom of those who would be king. When I am king I will unleash on Irresen 10 fold the pain that was wrought upon me. My rage for them will know no bounds.
