  104. Cyprus Taliaturn comes from a small country town, the sort where gossip spreads in minutes and everyone knows everyone fairly well. It’s a town where secrets are hard to hide. Cyprus was born into a farming family on the town’s outskirts. They were by no means wealthy and at the best of times were in the middle of the middle class when it came to wealth. Despite this, they were a happy and caring family. As the years went by and Cyprus grew up, he soon found he was not at all suited to farm work, to the point of where he would actually be a nuisance trying to help. He knew his family was not at all well off and felt he needed to do his part to help out. As a result he took to doing odd jobs around town and working in a nearby travelers roadside tavern. One day while walking home from work he stumbled upon the victim of a mugging of sorts strewn along the roadside. Or at least he found the corpse of a victim. Perhaps after murdering the poor traveler, the criminals got scared and ran off because they didn’t fully loot him. Within his pack was a violin. Cyprus wasn’t a merchant by any means, but he knew instruments like this could be worth a fortune to the right people, so he went to town the next day looking for a buyer. Even the most musically inclined townsfolk weren’t interested or couldn’t afford it. Dejected, he tried selling it in the tavern to a person who could probably use it, the bard who was passing through. He refused on the grounds of owning one and upon hearing the trouble he went through, offered to teach him in exchange for multiple nights of free drinks. Eventually he learned the violin and after the traveling bard left, took his place playing for money in the tavern at nights to help out. His most successful night ended in an utter failure and setback. A minor noble was in the bar and was one of the barfs highest spending patrons yet. After a tiring but rewarding night, he bought himself drinks. The noble, as drunk as Cyprus now was, kept demanding songs and slowly pissing him off. The night ended in a brutal bar fight where the young noble got his throat slit open by a bottle. He was arrested that night.

  106. After a month in prison for murder, his family managed to scrounge up enough money and convince enough banks to lend loans to buy his freedom from prison. Cyprus was utterly amazed at their efforts and was equally horrified at their lack of money now. They were practically broke and soon the banks would be calling in for money. Too ashamed to return home after his drunken actions and forcing them to bankrupt themselves, Cyprus turned to a life of adventuring, determined to become famous at any cost so as to repay their debts as soon as possible. To him fame is synonymous with money and if he sees that a family is well off enough not to be bankrupt by a little theft, then what’s the harm. He’s a true penny pincher and all around good intentioned guy. He actually dislikes killing or violence unless necessary and when fighting he fears accidentally killing his enemy. He had a few money schemes, one of which is to put up ‘wanted’ posters in enough towns and claim they did a few popular unsolved crimes. Later he plans on offering to ‘guard’ a bank vault he learned was going to be robbed by the ‘wanted criminals’. He believes in the nothing is free tactic to gain more money.
