Tail and Orchid stuff

[21:12] <Tail_Spin> The scene is set... where else? The Stable's gymnasium There's lots of curtains, banners, and streamers hanging down from the rafters and there's a raised stage at one end with a DJ stand set up, a pony behind it spinning some actually pretty good tunes. There's plenty of ponies present, the mares in all of their pretty dresses and the stallions in their sharp suits. There's one stallion in particular wearing a blue dress shirt with a black vest and bowtie. He's sitting at a table in the back of the gym near the refreshments, sipping some lemonade flicking his orange and yellow tail occassionally.
[21:56] * Black_Orchid trots into the gym behind a small mob of other mares and their dates, her head swiveling around looking for somepony!  She's a thin mare with some height, puberty clearly having not balanced out her form yet.  Wearing a soft pink dress with her mane done into a rather complicated looking set of braids and teased ruffles Orchid's prepared for quite the night!
[21:58] * Black_Orchid wades through a few admirers offering punch or a dance with polite words and a smile!  It takes a little time :I
[22:01] * Tail_Spin sighs softly as he sees the gaggle of mares enter across the room with their dates, slipping his glasses off and not catching the beautiful sight of Black_Orchid. He cleans off his glasses on his shirt before slipping them back on, finishing off his lemonade and taking another look around, tapping a hoof on the counter. He had meticulously preened his wings tonight, and they seemed to gleam off the lights, the orange feathers practically glimmering whenever he moved them, like right now when he gives them a ruffle.
[22:18] * Black_Orchid wades her way through the mess nearer the dore and drink tables none the worse for wear!  Stopping to adjust her mane, she's a pale shadow outlined against the dark gym wall and streamers..... Starring out into the dark Orchid catches a brief flash of orange!  With a triumphant whinny she trots off around the edge of the room, trying to avoid even more suitors.
[22:21] * Tail_Spin gets up, his wings shimmering again as he heads towards the drink table again, completely unaware that Black_Orchid was trotting over towards him yet, and oh what a surpirse it will be for him! He refills his lemonade, turning around to head back to the table he had been at as the track changes.
[23:17] * Black_Orchid gets flustered halfway through her circuitous route as Tail_Spin /trots right by her/!  Unfortunately, the colt can't here her calling for him over the sound of the music.  By the time it shifts into the next number Orchid is standing right in his walking path looking entirely like she isn't standing right in his walking path.
[23:22] * Tail_Spin isn't quite paying attention and accidently bumps into Black_Orchid, letting out an eep of surprise and backwinging a bit. blushing as he sees who it is. "Oh! H-Hey Orchid, sorry about that."
[23:23] * Black_Orchid smiles and straightens his bowtie with a hoof, "Hi Spin!  I've been looking all over, you're a hard colt to find!"
[23:25] * Tail_Spin swallows a bit nervously, his cheeks flushing brightly as he gives Black_Orchid a smile. "I've been just, well, sitting here most of the night." He says, gesturing to the table he had been at with a wing, which sends orange refractions of light shimmering across Black_Orchid.
[23:28] * Black_Orchid flushes on her own part, looking down at the floor before nervously replying, "I, um, was waiting at the front door for you."
[23:29] * Black_Orchid trails her hoof down Tail_Spin's shirt before letting it clop back against the floor.  "At least we finally found each other!" she says positively, looking back to grin at her date, "Did you want to dance?"
[23:30] * Tail_Spin scuffs his hoof on the ground. "O-Ops... s-sorry." He blushes more as her hoof trails down his shirt, before looking back up at the beautiful mare, nodding. "Y-Yeah, yeah, that sounds nice." He says. "And you look... amazing."
[23:40] * Black_Orchid forgot to reply ><)
[23:42] * Black_Orchid blushes a little at her cheekbones, rotating to his side and giving his neck a nuzzle, "Thanks,  you do too!  I really like your shirt."
[23:43] * Tail_Spin leans a bit into the nuzzle, his tail swishing nervously. "Th-thanks." He replies, offering her his hoof as the song faded to a slower one.
[23:45] <Black_Orchid> "Just in time too~" she says with a wiggle, her own red tail swishing with forced restraint as she takes his hoof, "Shall we?"
[23:49] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid, leading her out onto the dancefloor a bit nervously. He'd never really felt this close to a mare before, but he was way to nervous and shy to act on it, so instead he just smiles happily at Black_Orchid. He turns, leaning up on his hindlegs wrapping his forehooves around her waist.
[23:54] * Black_Orchid is less sure on her hooves but matches his movements, putting her own forelegs around his neck as the dance floor rapidly fills with couples~
[23:54] <Black_Orchid> "You've been having a good time?" she asks softly, their noses nearly touching
[23:56] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid, his blush very prevalent now. "Yeah, the music's been pretty good." He says. "But, i-it's better now that you're here." He says, slowly stepping around in a circle with Black_Orchid, smiling at her, their les occasionally brushing together.
[23:58] * Black_Orchid 's blush is harder to see on a pink coat but no less there~  "I'm glad..... I know it was kind of last minute, me asking you out," she says, moving in time to the music a little more surely as the song goes on.
[00:00] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid, smiling. "I'm glad you did." He says, matching her movements as they swayed. "It's nice to go with another pony, it's boring by yourself." He says, chuckling softly and smiling at her a bit more confidently.
[00:03] * Black_Orchid giggles, "Yeah.  It's hard to dance by yourself."  Orchid doesn't say a word about all the colts she turned down before asking Tail_Spin out.  None of them were her dates tonight after all, and she finds herself getting lost in Tail_Spin's eyes~
[00:04] <Black_Orchid> The song sounds like it's winding to an end...
[00:06] * Tail_Spin nods in reply to Black_Orchid, smiling as he gazes back into her own eyes as the song wound down to it's end, but he doesn't want to let her go just yet, and continues to hold her until the speakers crackled with the voice of the Principal. "Mares and Stallions, may I have your attention please!" She says.
[00:09] * Black_Orchid 's head jerks instinctively towards the stage up front where the microphone stand is, although she does lean a little more into Tail_Spin's shoulder as they come back down to all fours.
[00:11] * Black_Orchid 's mane smells like lavender~
[00:13] * Tail_Spin leans back against Black_Orchid without thinking about it, his ears parking up as he listens, murring softly at the wonderful scent of Black_Orchid's mane. "Thank you." The Principal says. "Now I know all of you have been waiting for this moment all year, so without further delay it's time to announce this year's Prom King and Queen!" She says, turning to the Vice Principal who's holding an envelope. She takes it, reaching inside and pulling out the first slip of paper. "And this year's Prom Queen is... Miss Black Orchid!"
[00:15] * Black_Orchid starts!  She was about so remark slyly that the only thing she'd been waiting for all year was her final report card when the principal calls her name.  Orchid looks a little stunned but reacts quickly to the claps and scattered whistles with a pleasant wave.  She looks sadly back at Tail_Spin as she trots up to the stage...
[00:18] * Tail_Spin smiles happily at Black_Orchid, applauding her as well as she goes up to the stage, sighing softly. Probably was going to be one of the other really popular stallions for King, always was. The Principal smiles at Black_Orchid as the Vice Principal slips a tiara into her mane, before turning back to the mic. "And for tis year's Prom King we have..." She reaches into the envelope again and pulls out a second slip of paper. "Mister Tail Spin!" She announces.
[00:21] * Black_Orchid shifts a little as the vice principal crowns her but keeps smiling~  She stomps her hooves in unrestrained excitement though when the principal calls out Tail_Spin's name!  It's easy to hear her over most of the crowd since she's near the mic.
[00:24] * Black_Orchid greets him at the steps almost before the principal does with an enthusiastic hug and, after pulling back far enough she plants a kiss on the pegasus' lips!
[00:26] * Tail_Spin just kind of stands there for a moment in shock, blinking a few times before he forces his hooves to move, stumbling up onto the stage and acking as Black_Orchid hugs him, his eyes going wide as she kisses him. Wow, didn't expect that! He stands there for a split second before returning the kiss to Black_Orchid, the VP's cough enough for him to pull back, bright red. She ushers them back to their places and places the crown on his head, before joining the Principal at the podium. "Fillies and Gentlecolts, we give you your Prom King and Queen!" They announce to the crown, who cheers. Tail looks over at Black_Orchid, blushing.
[00:27] * Black_Orchid looks back, offering her hoof for them to take a bow~
[00:29] * Tail_Spin takes Black_Orchid's hoof, and then bows with her, that is, until there's a clank from somewhere overhead, and then a huge splash of water hits them both, instantly soaking the two ponies. Tail jolts straight up, standing stock still for a moment, wide-eyed and dripping.
[00:32] * Black_Orchid eeeps loudly, her whole body tensing at the shock from the cold water and its sudden impact!  Her dress is plastered against her body, mane destroyed in one fell sploosh as the tiara slides at an angle against her ears.  It seems like Orchid's been frozen in place by the sudden deviation from normal festivities.
[00:34] * Tail_Spin closes his eyes, ears pinned back as he whimpers, before looking around. He snaps his wings out and makes a beeline for the exit, shaking a bit as he slams through the doors and out into the hallway.
[00:35] * Black_Orchid is left frozen in place on the stage until a few of her friends, still laughing, bundle her into a warm towel and off to their corner of the gym...
[00:38] * Tail_Spin skids to a halt in the hallway, shaking as he drips onto the floor. "R-Ruined... It's a-all ruined!" He sniffs, trudging off into a side hallway and slumping down against the lockers, his crown falling off onto the floor next to him.
[00:38] * Black_Orchid eventually escapes the small mob of hangers-on with the excuse that after being soaked with several gallons of freezing cold water has left her not particularly in the mood for partying in an equally wet dress.
[00:39] * Black_Orchid delivers a particularly cutting to several of the most jovial pranksters about having a King & Queen dance to dance before trotting towards the same door Tail_Spin fled through.
[00:42] * Black_Orchid slows once she's through the double doors, her breath growing a little ragged as she jokes back silent sobs hidden from the crowd.... By the time she reaches Tail_Spin's side, her hooves are barely leaving the floor.
[00:44] <Black_Orchid> (Back!  Did you get my last couple messages Deagle?  My IRC crashed)
[00:44] * Tail_Spin jolts slighty as Black_Orchid finds him where he's sniffling, tears rolling down his wet face. He looks over at her, his oh-so carefully preened wings wrecked by the deluge of water, but he puts one of them around Black_Orchid as she reaches his side, looking over at her. "I... wh-why would they d-do that... elect me Prom King... and do that..." [Yeah I got 'em!]
[00:46] * Black_Orchid slowly shakes her head, crown still clinging where it caught between her ears.  Instead of a measured, almost teasing lean against his sides this time Orchid nearly collapses down to the floor with him.  "They thought it would be /funny/," she says venemously
[00:48] * Tail_Spin sniffles as he puts his wings around Black_Orchid, snorting. "W-Well it was funny to them..." He growls out, looking over at the mare he was holding. "Are you alright?"
[00:50] * Black_Orchid sniffs. "No... Not... Really...." she says softly, snuggling under his wing, "I'm sorry Tail Spin, this is my fault..."
[00:52] * Tail_Spin shakes his head at Black_Orchid. "N-No it's mine... I'm the one they don't like..."
[00:54] * Black_Orchid sighs, "You wouldn't have been humiliated if I wasn't an idiot, and, wanted to ask who /I/ wanted out to the prom..."
[00:55] * Tail_Spin blinks a few times at Black_Orchid. "Y-You wanted to ask me? I... thought it was just to like make feel better or something..." He blushes a bit.
[00:57] * Black_Orchid blushes and shakes her head, "Um, well, I don't know you very well that's true.... But you always seemed like a really nice colt and honestly?"
[00:58] * Black_Orchid wiggles against him, not making eye contact, "You're really cute and I like your wings too."
[01:01] * Tail_Spin blinks as Black_Orchid wiggles against him, his blush spreading up to his soaking ears. "I-I'm cute?" He says, leaning into Black_Orchid a bit more, looking over at her. "A-And... I suppose I do take very good care of them... but those idiots ruined them... It took a good hour to preen them like that..." He says, swallowing once. "A-And on the same note... y-you're really pretty yourself, but I never thought you'd even glance at me, heh."
[01:05] * Black_Orchid smiles a little for the first time since they were together on the platform.  She plays off his compliments with a light bat of her hoof against his leg.  She nudges at his wing, "Your work shows."
[01:07] * Tail_Spin smiles back at Black_Orchid, his dripping tail giving a wet flick. "Th-thank you." He says, giving her a gentle squeeze with said wing. "We should probably go somplace and get dry, huh?"
[01:07] <Black_Orchid> "I'm kind of dry.... But I was going to the mare's room if I couldn't find you to towel off and," she blushes anew, "Change out of my dress."
[01:11] * Tail_Spin blushes himself. "Heh, well I was just gonna head back to my quarters to get changed myself." He says, looking over at Black_Orchid.
[01:14] * Black_Orchid looks a little abashed, "Oh.  Okay then!  I probably will too... momma'll probably want to hear all about it..."
[01:15] * Black_Orchid 's muzzle flinches as she gives the matter further thought.  "Annnd Hycy's probably going to want to od something stupid."
[01:16] * Tail_Spin fidgets. "Do you think we could meet back up? I like spending time with you..."
[01:19] <Black_Orchid> "Tonight?" she asks for clarification
[01:20] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid. "Y-Yeah... if that's uhh, okay with you."
[01:21] * Black_Orchid nods, but looks uncertain, "I'm not sure I can get back out of our quarters after I get home..."
[01:21] * Black_Orchid straightens slightly and looks more determined, "Where do you want to meet?"
[01:24] * Tail_Spin feels his ears starting to droop as she says that, but they perk back up as she says her next line, smiling. "U-Uhm... hmm... there's that storage area down on Sub-Level Seven. We can go exploring down there or something."
[01:26] <Black_Orchid> "Exploring?" she says curiously, ears flickering momentarily.  Smiling, she nods confidently, "Sounds fun!  Not exactly how I intended to spend our night, though things have already gone pretty far off the rails...."
[01:27] * Tail_Spin blinks at Black_Orchid. "O-Oh, how did you want to spend it?"
[01:29] * Black_Orchid shakes her head, definitely not able to get rid of that blush, "That doesn't really matter now.  Exploring sounds a lot better then getting wet..."
[01:30] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid. "Yeah, meet back at the elevator?"
[01:32] <Black_Orchid> "There instead of the storage area?" she asks, flicking away some of the water from her soaked tail.
[01:33] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid. "Yeah, so we don't lost down there trying to find each other." He says with a chuckle, getting up to his hooves and helping Black_Orchid up as well.
[01:35] * Black_Orchid slips a bit but keeps her hooves with his assistance!  "Okay!  Sounds like a plan."
[01:37] * Tail_Spin nods to Black_Orchid, blushing brightly as he leans in and kisses her this time!
[01:39] * Black_Orchid giggles and trots off~
[01:39] * Tail_Spin blushes even more as he turns and trots off back to his own quarters, collecting his crown on the way.
