- Since you are aiming for a new category UI, may I suggest a dynamic search box... like, if I start typing 'Login', it shows me:
- [ Lo ]
- - Email
- + Login
- - Delivery
- Lost
- - Website
- - HR
- Login
- - Support
- Login
- [Show All]
- Each portion of the branches are live... you can open, close, and select them with the same interactions as the existing tree view. It just hides branches that don't contain the requested text (or are parents of a matching category). Matching substrings are bolded right in the name (not shown, since Pastebin doesn't support formatting).
- Parents are expanded as needed to show the matching sub-categories. If the matched category has sub-items, then it starts closed but can be opened as normal.
- A [Show All] button at the bottom clears the filter (same as clearing the search box).
