  1. 8 Character Passwords Are Dead
  2.
  3. 8 Character Passwords Are Dead folks. Nvidia has dropped a whooper on the Gaming world with the 2080 ti and people have been wondering why it cost's so dang much. I think we might have found the real answer, "Password Cracking". Apparently Hashcat has updated their program to support the new Video Cards for cracking and they are putting up huge numbers on just one card of 100GH/s on a single compute device. You would need 2 1080 ti's to even think about coming close to that hashrate. This means that a guy with a 6 GPU rig can crack the any 8 character enterprise windows password. This would allows you to basically break anything in the 8 character keyspace in 2.5 hours no matter it it has symbols, upper, lower, and numbers in the password. We are going to explain what this means for the computing world and look at where we where 5 years ago.
