  1. Rain was looking through game textures and found a texture depicting Hallway Bowser and Final Bowser being attacked by Mario with an Up, Up, and Away, a Special Move that turns enemies into stars that fly away, ending the battle. Using Kirigami 64 Rain found the value that determines the percent chance of this move working.
  2.
  3. The value is represented as a 4 Byte Integer in Hex. Hallway Bowser's value is 44100 in hex, or 278784 in decimal. Final Bowser's value is a slightly less 43c00, or 277574.
  4.
  5. Run chance is very similar to Up, Up, and Away chance. In the Dojo, if you run, you run instantly without pressing A, and this value becomes 64000000 in hex. Converted to decimal, this is 1677721600. Based off of this information, 1677721600 is the highest number that can represent the Up, Up, and Away chance. This number would yield a 100% success rate.
  6.
  7. By dividing 278784 and 277574 by the max number of 1677721600 we find that both of these fights allow for an approximate 0.016% chance of Up, Up, and Away working on these 2 fights.
  8.
  9. This means that it is a 1/6260 chance of getting. For this very reason, we haven't yet verified this working on an emulator or console. This is just what the game code is telling us.
  10.
  11. Fun Fact: If you use this to kill Bowser during the first phase of Final Bowser, the game still advances to the Twink cutscene and fight.
