- This document intends to provide some documentation on the classifications of different cycles across Crash 1.
- NOTE: Enemies that start moving when you're close to them but are based around following Crash will not be listed here as they're not considered a cycle. For example, the shield enemies in gate levels that follow you or the electric lab assistants in The Lab that follow you.
- GLOBAL CYCLES: Cycles that are moving as long as the game is not paused or in a loading screen. These cycles (along with all the other cycles listed here) still reset when you die.
- - Spikes in The Great Gate/Native Fortress
- - Small flames in The Great Gate/Native Fortress
- - Moving platforms in Rolling Stones
- - Pushers in The Lost City/Sunset Vista
- - Boards in The Lost City/Sunset Vista
- - Spears in Temple Ruins/Jaws Of Darkness
- - Platforms that move up and down in Temple Ruins/Jaws Of Darkness
- - Camera robots in Heavy Machinery/Castle Machinery
- - Steam vents in Heavy Machinery/Castle Machinery
- - Some spiky robots
- - Moving platforms in Cortex Power/Generator Room
- - Any object that shoots electricity projectiles out of it
- - Birds in Slippery Climb
- - Stairs in Slippery Climb
- - Moving platforms in Slippery Climb
- - Pendulums in Lights Out/Fumbling In The Dark
- - Beige moving platforms in Lights Out/Fumbling In The Dark
- - Closing and opening floors in The Lab
- SPAWN CYCLES: Cycles that start moving when you get close to it. As a result, these cycles are always consistent. Sometimes referred to as a proximity cycle.
- - Crabs in N. Sanity Beach
- - Turtles
- - Leaves in Upstream/Up The Creek
- - Eating plants (blue tentacles) in Upstream/Up The Creek
- - Rollers in Jungle Rollers/Rolling Stones
- - Shield enemies in Hog Wild/Whole Hog
- - Monkeys in gate levels/Up The Creek
- - Bats of any kind
- - Lizards in The Lost City/Sunset Vista
- - Big flames in Temple Ruins/Sunset Vista/Jaws Of Darkness
- - Large groups of spinning pillars in Temple Ruins/Jaws Of Darkness
- - Boars in Road To Nowhere/The High Road
- - Barrels in Toxic Waste (how high the yellow ones bounce upon first dropping on the floor is RNG, seems similar to nitro RNG in c2/c3)
- - Enemies that throw test tubes in Slippery Climb/The Lab
- LEVEL/LOCAL CYCLES: This is a rare type of cycle in the PS1 Crash Bandicoot trilogy. It is a cycle that begins moving when you first spawn in the level.
- - The moving platform near the end of Castle Machinery that goes up high
