  1. Did you know Duking's Plusle in Colosseum is shiny locked? I found it out. The hard way.
  2.
  3. The Lansat and Starf Berries are obtained in gens 5-8 by getting 100, then 200 wins in a row in the Battle Tower variant, sometimes with legitimate uses. In ORAS, one of the berries will give a 100% pokeblock+ chance!
  4.
  5. Diglett and Dugtrio cannot jump in jumping related Pokeathlon minigames in HGSS. During the hurdle sprint, they will literally dig under the hurdles which is a really nice touch by the devs.
  6.
  7. There are 19 Pokestar Studios easter eggs in Black 2 and White 2 if you use moves like False Swipe, Substitute, and so on in the right movie. I thought there were only 2, but while making this list I uncovered WAY more!
  8.
  9. Pokemon Emerald has a flawed initial seed that's always the same. However, a recent discovery has shown that looking at a portrait in Lilycove Museum's second floor sets the current seed to a 16 bit value. Some stat spreads could take literal years of ingame time but can now be done in mere minutes!
  10.
  11. Mewtwo can learn Pay Day by TM in Red, Blue, and Green, but not Yellow. When Virtual Console became Bankable, it used the Yellow moveset and alleged any Mewtwo with Pay Day was a hack, unable to be moved up! They also stopped mons who learned Tutor moves in gen 3 that are TMs in gen 1 like Double-Edge Aerodactyl.
  12.
  13. Because gen 1 and 2 can trade with each other, if a Pokemon can learn a move that is in the gen 1 games in gen 2, it can be sent backwards, becoming a technically legal edge case. A notable example is triple elemental punch Alakazam, who learns it via TM from Goldenrod department store and is (even more) OP in gen 1.
  14.
  15. While held items weren't a thing in gen 1, the Pokemon still had "catch rate" data. This data became held items in gen 2. If you beat the Gym Leader Castle in Stadium 1, you get Normal Box and Gorgeous Box as held items respectively which become trophies for your room decorations!
  16.
  17. And speaking of things that were and weren't a thing in gen 1, if you insert a Pokemon Yellow cart into Stadium 2 and do the Pichu minigame with a Pikachu whose DVs match shiny value, it will show up as a shiny while technically inside a gen 1 cart!
  18.
  19. If a gen 1 game gets an extra fresh water, has it sent to storage in Stadium 2, and then using the Transfer Pak gives it to another gen 1 save's PC, then players can access Saffron City way earlier than usual. No wonder the devs made the tea a key item in FRLG!
