  1. Lumina takes the arkhosian blade into her shop wagon, and takes out a cloth mat of some sort, laying the blade carefully on it. She's placed a few tools next to the mat, including a metal can of some sort with a lid that extends into the can with a brush. Pulling the brush out, she carefully dabs the liquid across the blade and handle, which were sticky with old Pandoran blood-oil. It's a painstaking process that takes upwards of an hour, but the liquid seems to aid in loosening up the blood without damaging the weapon. She blots the blade with a cloth, never touching the metal of the blade directly. Afterwards, she applies a thin oil to the blade before setting it aside and beginning to treat and clean its sheathe. Wait, you didn't find a sheathe? It looks like something one of the zombies may have been carrying around, so Lumina seems to have sent Sable in to get one. Once that's clean, she carefully slides the blade into sheathe, and then places it into a padded box for safekeeping.

  3. After tidying up her workstation, she has a look at the romance novels. Their covers are aged and cracked, the edges of the pages are discolored and stained, and in general the books are nearly falling to pieces. She opts for a full restoration instead of trying to preserve the original covers, and gets some leather from the local leatherworker. She spends a while cutting the pages free of their original binding and carefully removing all of the old glue, then she uses a bladed tool to shave off the very edges of the page to return them to a uniform and unstained state, followed by rebinding the books in new leather and reattaching the original spines. They come out looking quite nice.

  5. The stag helm seems fine as is! She nods in approval and adds it to the back wall.
  6.
  7. The piano and organ.... she tests their keys, checks inside the piano, and the outside of both instruments.... Notes where there are scratches. No major restoration needed with these, just a cleaning - which she and Sable get to.
  8.
  9. The hydra scales... Huh. Well these are interesting. Kind of old and brittle, but they should still work, right? She takes them to Sophia's Salves to have a medicine made.
  10.
  11. And finally, the Greatshield Blade... It's a definitely not a common form of fullblade. Lumina regards it as an amusing novelty, but a functional one. She cleans it up and oils it, but it's already remarkably well preserved. it's interesting, functional AND enchanted. Lumina likes this, and thinks it might go for as much as the collector's sword, if not more.

  26. When she spies the "Desynthesis and You" book, Lumina gets a curious glint in her eyes and leafs through it. "Oh, this is interesting... they figured out a way to take the magic out of something they already created and put it into something else. "One mait eckstrakt the magicks from the arms and reesikul them into material' - wait, no, materia. Is that a weird dialect thing? ....Oh, no, it's some kind of crystalized enchantment..." She begins skimming the book now, speedreading.
  27.
  28. "So 'materia' is a block of prepared magic for enchanting purposes. It doesn't have a shelf life beyond a few months, so I guess that's why this is the first I've heard of it.The Turathi were really ahead of the game - their technology so much more primitive than stuff you'd see today around Candor, but their magic was really impressive. How the hell did we lose so much information about them over the years? Anyway, Frey. That crystal ball thing you found? According to this book that's a 'Glass Heart'. Some kind of slang or lingo that made sense back then, I guess. It's used to hold, distribute or amplify the magic of an enchantment during the creation or disassembly of magic items, back then. Not really needed now for the former, since a smith that's skilled enough and versed in Candoran runesmithing can do that. But it can't really hurt... and we can probably try this materia thing, too."
  29.
  30. "By the way, Cedrik. That... 'forge stone' you've got there? I think that might be a Fire Elemental's heart, or at least made from one. You don't see a lot of fire elementals out and about in natural locations, but I'm getting a tingling in my wings when I look at it. It's got some kind of primordial power to it. It's probably safe to use, though."
