  1.
  2. Creation and Beyond
  3. From the dawn of history that we remember it, we have the great mind guide us. We were a gestalt consciousness, nothing more than unevolved there was another race living on our planet. They were highly advanced, and strangely enough were not part of our great mind. We never paid them much attention, not until the fires started. Blasting fires came and grew in the sky.
  4. Our mind never truly forgets. We remember the pain of the fire, and the heartbreak that we and we alone were left. We emerged from our ponds and pools to find a scorched planet, one where we would have taken control and repair the damages done by forces out of our control. We were now aware of the goings on outside of our mind, we as a collective grew and matured to understand what the natural state of all things were…chaotic and unpredictable.
  5. And so, at the dawn of a new age we woke. Our mind studied our home world of Elaam with a thousand eyes. We moved as one, building shelter, researching new technology, and expanding to meet the need of our Drones. Each acting as terminal of information for our mind.
  6. Eventually we had expanded across all of Elaam. We were stuck. The mind started to create highly Autonomous Done. These drones could think for themselves, and come up with new ideas to try. They are however like all drone, linked to our mind. Our mind achieved great heights with these new drones. We devised new means of rapid travel across the vast void. We needed to expand to meet the needs of the hive. But finally, new worlds were in our grasp.
  7. We left our world to colonize others, 2200 years after the fire. We have grown and advanced to detect the hyper lanes around our solar system. Expansion began immediately. It was not long until we met others, they had the same folly as those who came before. By 2400 we had taken most of the galaxy as our own. We created more autonomous drones to assist the worlds we have taken into our fold. In order for our mind to help others, to protect them from themselves, we must live with them on their worlds.
  8. The Sol System is one such world we have claimed, they were in their early years of space travel when we came and showed them the power of our mind. Integrated as our subject, many drones now live on their worlds, learning of their ways. It’s always good to keep an eye on your things.
  9. “I see.” The agent looked through some papers. “So, 597-B, you’re here to do what exactly?”
  10. “I have been assigned to Earth to learn about humans and how individuals function.”
  11. “mhmm…” The agent seemed annoyed at the response “Has the hive leadership given you a briefing on the current deal that we have?”
  12. How many times do we have to tell you, we do not have a leader! Our minds are linked in one consciousness; we all collectively decide on the course of action.
  13. “Yes, in exchange for residency I will be informing you about aspects of the hive as requested.” Perfectly said in monotone, if I do say so myself.
  14. “Ok, lets wrap this up and get you to your residence.” Said the agent in an even more annoyed tone.
  15. Wow, this agent really does not like me.
  16. “How are you able to function? Our intelligence suggests that you drones cannot live outside of hive space.”
  17. Daww, they really do care don’t they.
  18. “Because we were able to bring the entirety of UN space under our command, Earth is technically within our borders.
  19. “Mhmm. So what about the rest of the hive? Are we talking to all of you at once?”
  20. “Well, yes and no. I am a highly aautonoumous drone. While I am connected to the rest of the hive, I can function and think on my own without hive assistance. Though I would be lying If I said that it wasn’t hard.”
  21. The man seemed to be quickly scribbling down the information, why bother? Don’t they have cameras in here?
  22. “Ok, final question before we can let you out of here. Just a house keeping matter really.” The agent said while plucking a paper out of the pile next to him.
  23. “Where is it that you’ll be staying while you’re here?”
  24. Where am I going to be staying? Among the choices the hive had thought of, we had to consider where the humans would act the most like…well humans. There was only one place that fit the specific criteria.
  25. “I will be living in the city of Ion.”
  26. “Wait.” Said the agent, a bit surprised. “Isn’t that the floating city, the one in the middle of the Atlantic?”
  27. “Yes, it has high human traffic and is a natural trade hub. The ideal spot to learn about various human habits.”
  28. The agent seemed a bit annoyed, do they always get this annoyed when we talk to them this way?
  29. “Okay” said the agent “Do you need a lift out there?”
  30. “No thanks, the mind had made sure that I am equipped with transport”
  31. “Well then, welcome to earth.”
