SRX

SRX Fall 2017 was a very mixed bag. Let’s take it from the top and hopefully you’ll see what I mean.

I started the trip around 8:00 AM on Wednesday and except for gas and lunch at Burger King along the way it was a straight shot to the airport, where I waited on Cyberdemon531 for around 30 minutes. I pick her up and we get Pal’s (greasy drive-thru with good burgers) for the meme. After shopping at a local game store we get to the hotel and hang around until Jo shows up. She brings her fat dog and we unload stuff into her room. After some shopping at Target (where Cyber wouldn’t shut up about toothpaste) we head back and play games in the hotel room until Zuul shows up, then we Herd AND Gerd.

I then go to get Baggles from the airport and we sleep in his room for the night. Next day we chill and I show off speedgames and have others play on a giant CRT I brought until the conference room is unlocked.

We (I) set up stuff in there (minus a PC monitor that got destroyed during travel), but there’s no Ethernet port so wireless with a bad connection was used. Jo says she’s going to get a smoke break then leaves for 2 hours and comes back with power cords. During that time Cyber checks in while kinda fucked up on “meme juice” and I rest before my tech station shift.

So come midnight the stream isn’t up because the internet is bad and my RTMP server is blocked by the hotel and the stream quality is finally garbage when it does go up. Jo is also fucking gonzo because she leaves for PA to pick up DevilWriter (which I personally think was a terrible idea).

So Varin and I (with a bit of help from Liddy) for 6 hours are the only people keeping this thing from exploding, and I eventually have to pass out around 6 AM to sleep again.

I come back and the power has gone out while I was asleep but the stream recovered, and then we get good internet so all is mostly well. The crew leaves in part to get Waffle House and then I go back to tech. Nothing else much happens on Friday.

On Saturday I wake up with a sore throat and nasal congestion. I have a cold (yikes!) but I plow through and do my two runs for that morning with a degree of competency.

Next thing of note for me is SotN which I’m dying during, so the run was garbage.

I go to sleep and the hotel loses power for 3 hours a little after I get up on Sunday. I do Doshin and I sort of get owned by my body as I play and I don’t have that great of a time even though the run goes well.

This morning I drive home and nearly die during the drive because for the first hour I can’t see out of my teary eyes. I jam to music and start to feel better though.

So yeah. Tech was a nightmare this marathon but the people were good (minus a few questionable choices certain people made).


The Future

I want to get a time below 4 hours in Twilight Princess Any% before I drop the game. After that, I think I want to return to DMC4:SE and DMC3:SE. Luigi’s Mansion, System Shock Single Segment, and Sonic Generations look like the short-term possible goals.


Life

I’m still looking hard for work. My birthday is on the 7th so idk what I’m going to do for that.
